Исследование включает в себя сравнение терминологических баз на английском и латинском языках. Сравнительный анализ двух языков в области терминологии показал, что языковые сходства и различия в английской и латинской терминологических основах оказывают влияние на практику и теорию терминологии.
The study includes a comparison of terminological bases in English and Latin. A comparative analysis of the two languages in the field of terminology showed that linguistic similarities and differences in English and Latin terminological foundations have an impact on the practice and theory of terminology.
Keywords: comparative linguistics, English/Latin basis, medical terminology.

exact-comparative method (consciously-comparative method), which has become widespread.
The essence of this method is that the comparison of the native and foreign languages in the methodological and linguistic terms at certain stages of development of the methodological and linguistic thoughts of students not only effectively correlate, but stimulate each other. At the same time, the native language is the basis of the consciously comparative method of teaching.
In the first lesson, while learning the alphabet, English-speaking students already have a dangerous delusion that they already know everything and they do not need to make any effort in mastering a new language. The task of the teacher is to draw the attention of foreign students to the difference in the names of some letters in the alphabet, as well as to the different pronunciation: a, u, c, i, e, g, h, q, j, etc. So, the main task of the first section (phonetics) is to develop students' reading skills. To solve this problem in a short period of time is possible only through massive reading. Therefore, it is necessary to go through the entire alphabet of the Latin language in more detail. To this end, the module, developed by the UMKD for foreign students, significantly increased the number and volume of exercises on reading technique.Difficulties may also arise in the study of Latin grammar. Since only two cases of nouns have been preserved in English: common (the Common Case) and possessive (the Possessive Case) and the relations of nouns to other words in the sentence, which in Latin (as well as in Russian) are transmitted through case endings, namely relations of the genitive, dative and instrumental cases, in English, are transmitted by nouns in the common case in combination with prepositions. English medical terms of Greek origin
Although there was no direct contact between Greek and English, as was the case with Greek and Latin, a certain number of Greek terms survived in English medical foundations in three possible forms:
- Terms preserved in their original ancient Greek form: arteria - (artery) any vessel that carries blood away from the heart, diabetes - a disorder characterized by excessive excretion of urine, as in diabetes mellitus (diabetes mellitus), etc.
- Greek medical terms in Latin "garment": L. bronchus - from Gr. bronchos = bronchus, L. thrombus - from Gr. thrombus = thrombus - a clot that has formed in a blood vessel or in one of the chambers of the heart.
- English medical terms of Latin origin

Latin has retained its position only because it was the language of the church for many centuries. There is a historical paradox that Latin, as the second major source of medical vocabulary, must first have disappeared as a living language before it became the medium of communication with the physician over the long centuries into the middle Ages. Latin coppers
a) Terms preserved in the original Latin form:
abdomen - peritoneum, abdominal cavity; femur - thigh bone;
b) Latin terms assimilated into English
L. musculus = Engl. Muscle = muscle; L. nervus = Engl. nerve = nerve
c) Terms that have undergone multiple assimilation Qing terms entered English terminology in various forms.
Greek-Latin terminology is mainly used by a relatively small circle of people -specialists - and even today is a peripheral part of the lexical system of modern English. Medical terminology based on Latin and Greek has several advantages: 1. It provides continuity between past and present; 2. There is no ambiguity in it, because Latin and classical Greek, as dead languages, do not undergo any changes; 3. Latin has a simple spelling and pronunciation.
