ABSTRACT:
This article explores the pivotal role of translation in preserving the intricate nuances of literary works, with a focus on Uzbek, English, and Russian literature. Through a comparative analysis of poetry and prose, it highlights the challenges faced by translators in capturing cultural references, linguistic subtleties, and stylistic elements inherent in original texts. By examining the interplay between language, culture, and translation, this study underscores the importance of preserving the authenticity and richness of literary heritage across diverse linguistic landscapes.

INTRODUCTION
In the vast tapestry of global literature, translation serves as the bridge connecting diverse cultures and languages, enabling the transmission of ideas, emotions, and nuances across borders. Yet, beyond the mere transference of words from one language to another, translation plays a pivotal role in preserving the intricate subtleties and cultural nuances inherent in literary works. This article delves into the significance of translation in maintaining the essence of literary nuances, with a focus on a comparative analysis of Uzbek, English, and Russian literary texts. Literature, as an art form, encompasses a rich array of linguistic elements, ranging from metaphors and idiomatic expressions to cultural references and wordplay. These nuances are deeply embedded within the fabric of a language, reflecting its unique cultural heritage and societal norms. Translating Uzbek literary works into languages such as English and Russian presents translators with the formidable task of bridging linguistic and cultural gaps while preserving the essence of the original text [1].
One of the key challenges in translating Uzbek literature lies in capturing the intricacies of its poetic language. Uzbek poetry, renowned for its use of metaphor and symbolism, often relies on cultural references and historical allusions that may be unfamiliar to non-native speakers[3]. A skilled translator must navigate these cultural nuances adeptly, employing creative strategies to convey the richness of the original text without sacrificing its authenticity.
Consider, for instance, the poetry of renowned Uzbek poet Hamid Olimjon. In his works, Olimjon masterfully weaves together themes of love, nature, and spirituality, drawing on Uzbek folklore and Sufi traditions to create evocative imagery. Translating Olimjon's poetry into English or Russian requires more than just linguistic proficiency—it demands a deep understanding of Uzbek culture and literary tradition. A translator must carefully select words and phrases that capture the essence of Olimjon's imagery while resonating with readers from different cultural backgrounds.
Furthermore, the role of translation in preserving literary nuances extends beyond the realm of poetry to encompass prose fiction as well. Uzbek novels and short stories, with their vivid portrayals of everyday life and societal issues, offer valuable insights into Uzbek culture and identity. Russian literature, with its rich literary tradition spanning centuries, provides an interesting contrast to Uzbek literature. From the works of Tolstoy and Dostoev-sky to contemporary authors like Tatyana Tolstaya and Ludmila Ulitskaya, Russian literature encompasses a diverse range of styles and themes. Translating Russian literary works into English or Uzbek presents its own set of challenges, including the nuances of Russian syntax and the cultural specificities embedded within the text. Similarly, English literature, with its global influence and linguistic versatility, offers a wealth of material for comparative analysis[4] . From the plays of Shakespeare to the novels of Charles Dickens and Virginia Woolf, English literature reflects the rich tapestry of British culture and history. Translating English literary works into Uzbek or Russian requires careful attention to linguistic nuances and cultural references, ensuring that the essence of the original text is preserved in translation.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the role of translation in preserving literary nuances is indispensable in facilitating cross-cultural communication and fostering mutual understanding. Through the careful selection of words, the adept handling of cultural references, and the thoughtful consideration of stylistic elements, translators play a crucial role in ensuring that the essence of literary works transcends linguistic boundaries.
