INTRODUCTION
The English language has achieved widespread global usage, with over 380 million people using it as their primary language and over 200 million as their secondary language. Additionally, there are approximately one billion people currently in the process of learning English. While traditionally associated with Western nations such as the US, Canada, and the UK, English has become a crucial tool for facilitating communication between individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds due to globalization in economic and educational sectors. English language has a significant influence on global culture. With over 1.5 billion speakers worldwide, English is considered the lingua franca of our modern world, playing a crucial role in international communication. Its widespread usage has not only shaped the way we interact and connect with one another but has also greatly impacted various aspects of our daily lives. One of the major contributions of the English language to culture is through literature. English literature has a rich history, with iconic works from legendary writers such as William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Virginia Woolf. These literary works have not only entertained readers for centuries but have also provided insights into different time periods, cultures, and societal issues. In addition to literature, English has also influenced music, film, and television. Many popular songs are written and performed in English, making it a universal language for music enthusiasts worldwide. Hollywood, known as the entertainment capital of the world, produces a vast majority of films and TV shows in English, making it accessible to a global audience and influencing popular culture on a global scale. Moreover, the English language has played a crucial role in the spread of ideas and information. With the internet and social media dominating our daily lives, English has become the primary language of communication online. From news articles to academic research, a significant amount of information is shared and consumed in English, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and promoting global understanding. Overall, the contribution of the English language to culture cannot be understated. Its widespread usage has transcended borders and continents, connecting people from different backgrounds and enriching our understanding of the world. As English continues to evolve and adapt to our changing society, its impact on culture is sure to remain prominent for ears to come. Although English was originally spoken in medieval England as a West Germanic language, it has now become a widely used global language. It is the primary language in many countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and some Caribbean nations. language. Giddens (2000) states that globalization involves the sharing of knowledge and culture across the world due to instantaneous communications and simultaneous interactions. Initially seen as an economic phenomenon related to international trade and investment, globalization now encompasses technological, political, social, and cultural exchanges between nations and people. Also 85% of international organizations use English as one of their official languages, with French being used by less than 50%. Around one third of international organizations use only English, and 90% of Asian international organizations use English. Crystal (1997) stated that 85% of the world's international organizations use English for transnational communication. Additionally, English is used in 85% of major film productions and markets, and 90% of published academic articles in fields like linguistics are written in English. The increased use of the English language can be attributed to globalization in education, economics, and culture.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Since the middle of the 20th century, there has been a big change in the global scientific community. Now, English has become the main language in some non-English speaking countries like France, Spain, and Germany. Adam Huttner-Koros says that there are many more academic papers published in English compared to their own languages, with a ratio as high as 40:1. This means that scientists who want to share their work globally need to publish in English and attend international conferences and workshops. Kumju Hwang's case study on Korean scientists living in the UK also shows that non-native English speakers use English to gain international recognition and reputation. Even in the realm of scientific publications, English holds a dominant position. In 1998, over 80% of all scientific journal articles indexed by Chemical Abstracts were exclusively written in English. Furthermore, nearly all the articles published in natural sciences in 1996 were in English, and by 1995, 90% of humanities publications were also in English. Despite English being spoken by only 5% of its native speakers worldwide, it is the common language used by 15% of its speakers globally. This widespread usage enables scientists to communicate and collaborate across regions. Given that the majority of scientific and technological literature is available in English, it is imperative for students and researchers worldwide to learn the language. It is widely recognized that English holds a dominant position in the global education sector. Learning English has become a necessity due to the prevalence of English-language textbooks and materials in higher education. Students, teachers, and researchers worldwide extensively use English as the primary medium of communication. The language is also the primary means through which education-

al information is stored, whether in printed books or electronic journals. With the rapidly evolving educational landscape, students can access resources from around the world through the internet.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the English language has undeniably played a significant role in shaping global culture. Its widespread usage in business, education, and communication has contributed to the spread of literature, music, and media, bringing together diverse ideas and art. Moreover, its impact on global culture is evident in its borrowing of words and phrases from other languages, making its vocabulary more diverse. English being used as a global language has also facilitated better understanding between different cultures, making the world more connected and inclusive. As English continues to evolve and adapt to our changing society, its influence on culture is likely to remain prominent for ears to come.
