This presented article reveals the English language's peculiarities in the semantics of terms related to tourism and how they affect instruction. The study analyzes how these semantic elements influence the interpretation and translation of tourism phrases, stressing the issues they offer for language learners and instructors. It also offers practical suggestions for teaching tourism terminology, emphasizing the importance of context, culture, and conceptual mapping in language instruction.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION

Effective communication is crucial for the tourism business, which is a dynamic and varied sector, to effectively communicate its distinctive offerings and experiences. The tourism industry offers an intriguing case study in language because of its extensive vocabulary and subtle semantic complexities. It is essential to comprehend the semantic idiosyncrasies of English phrases related to tourism to facilitate efficient communication not only among industry professionals but also while instructing prospective tourism workers in English as a second language. We can learn important things about the cultural, social, and economic aspects of the tourism business by looking at the structure, usage, and perception of terminology related to tourism. Through a combination of theoretical analysis and practical examples, this article aims to shed light on the fascinating interplay between language, culture, and tourism. By understanding the unique semantic characteristics of tourism terms, educators and learners alike can navigate this specialized vocabulary with confidence and precision, enhancing their ability to communicate effectively in the global tourism landscape.

oretical and practical. In parallel, modern researchers are delving deeply into the unique characteristics of scientific text resources in many languages, as well as term formulation and structure techniques, terminology standards, and categorization problems. This article primarily analyzes phrases in two different languages Uzbek and English that are relevant to tourism, including their meanings and structures. In the areas of lexical semantics and systematic self-management, we can establish the foundation for a comparative typological analysis of words by organizing the parallels and divergences of systems across two or more languages.

RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGIES

Applications such as specialist dictionary compilation, specialized translation, document indexing and/or classification, knowledge modeling, language planning, and standardization are just a few of the fields in which terminology finds extensive application. Tourism terminology in the Uzbek language is in its infancy and as a result of development in the tourism field, its composition is being enriched by other special units. Naturally, a higher percentage of tourist terms in Uzbek are English words if we consider the fact that the birthplace of tourism was England and the leading status of English terms in international terminology. "Language and society are inextricably linked and take place in society all changes are reflected in its language. It has entered the life of society new concepts, events from the linguocultural concept sphere of society in addition to their language resources to take place in other languages and words are mastered." This, in turn, ensures the enriching of the dictionary of the language layer with new lexical (-phraseological) units and it looks to sustainable development in the linguocultural environment. According to R. Jomonov, "The most important (extra-linguistic) factors in word acquisition are "political, economic relations between nations and cultural ties; scientific development; media activities expansion; increasing demand for translated literature; advertising and texts in visual aids; increasing demand for foreign languages and so on.

Tourism terminology is an important section of the term system of any language. This is explained by the fact that the sphere of tourism occupies an important place and plays a significant role in the life and activity of each person. Tourism terminology is characterized by a wide variety of applications in comparison with other terminological systems. The problems that have been actively developing in recent decades which are related to the peculiarity of specific languages have posed a set of questions for researchers that are reflected in the study of the characteristics and typologies of multi-structured languages. The relevance of the study is determined by the growth of intercultural relations, the role of the language of tourism in the modern communicative process, as well as the insufficient knowledge of word-formation,

morphological, semantic and functional characteristics of tourist terminology. Language, as a system, has enough laws and means of education of new concepts. They may be found in special vocabulary and require nomination. One of the common means of nominating tourist terms is the use of multi-valued common language words in a special touristic field. Many scientists have definitely argued that the term is a lexi-co-nominative language unit that corresponds to the concept of a special professional sphere, for example tourism. There are three points of view:

1. Tourist terms have that lexical meaning which they mean;

2. Tourist terms have a lexical meaning and it is the concept;

3. Such terms coincide with the concept and have no lexical meaning. Speaking about the semantic structure of the word-term, you shouldn't forget about its structure and internal form. The method of decomposition of the tourist term into constituent semantic components in order to simulate its semantics is fully justified. The same tourist term can be defined differently. It can be included in different systems.

DISCUSSION

Teaching Strategies for Tourism Terms

When teaching tourism terms in English, it is important to provide learners with opportunities to explore the semantic nuances of these terms in context. Here are some strategies that can be effective:

1. Contextualized Learning: Provide learners with authentic materials such as travel brochures, websites, and videos, and ask them to identify and analyze the use of tourism terms in context. This can help learners understand how these terms are used in real-world situations.

2. Semantic Mapping: Use semantic mapping techniques to help learners visualize the relationships between different meanings of tourism terms. This can help clarify the nuances of these terms and how they are used in different contexts.

3. Comparative Analysis: Encourage learners to compare and contrast the use of tourism terms in English with their equivalents in their native language. This can help highlight differences in meaning and usage and improve learners' understanding of these terms.

4. Role-plays and Simulations: Engage learners in role-plays and simulations of tourism-related scenarios, such as booking a hotel room or planning a sightseeing itinerary. This can help learners practice using tourism terms in context and improve their communication skills.

5. Vocabulary-building Activities: Provide learners with opportunities to expand their tourism vocabulary through activities such as word games, vocabulary lists, and quiz-

zes. This can help learners become more familiar with the range of terms used in the tourism industry

CONCLUSION

One could conclude, given the theoretical challenges involved in defining terminology and the general requirements for the existence of technical terms, that this topic is best left to the subject matter experts in each field of study who must address issues with naming and systematic classification, or that it should fall under the purview of language planners and organizations tasked with standardization or other language regulation. However, since it is largely for sociolinguistic reasons that a specific autonomous activity of terminology has come into being, it appears necessary to explore the history of this activity and the various areas of knowledge that contribute to the constitution of what is now increasingly being considered an independent discipline.

The study's findings demonstrate that the vocabulary used in both Uzbek and English for foreign travel in general is characterized by an abundance of formal ways to represent notions; in other words, these terminologies frequently refer to the same thing. A quantitative investigation reveals that there is a high degree of synonymy in English terms used by tourists. One sort of concept that is thought to exist is synonymy. In terms of term incompatibility, it is observed that there are too many formal ways to describe a notion. One of the primary and most significant issues with terminology continues to be the problem of synonymy, or the usage of multiple unique lexical units to designate a notion.
