ROLE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN THE MODERN SOCIETY
Annotation: The article provides a brief description of the relevance of learning English, dictated by modern society.

The study of foreign languages is very relevant in the modern trend of language education. Every modern schoolchild should learn foreign languages. English is the universal language of modern society. It is spoken by a large number of people around the world, so it is the most popular and popular foreign language. But, it is no secret that it is too simplistic, little emotional. But let's be objective. The popularity of the English language in various spheres of life is now beyond doubt even among snobs and conservatives, German and French have become a thing of the past and have been replaced by English even in Germany and France. English is taught in schools and even kindergartens. The intellectual awareness of modern children is very high, thanks to the Internet connection, there are almost no white spots left. In addition, primary school students absorb, like a sponge, indirectly and subconsciously, the English language. The great German poet Goethe once said: "Those who do not know a foreign language do not know their own." I agree with him, everything is learned in comparison. Knowledge of English helps me to learn the Uzbek language.
Modern English is different from what English was a hundred years ago. After all, any living language tends to change. And it is not only about the appearance of new slang words and acronyms, but also about changes in sounds, words and grammatical structures. English belongs to the Germanic languages of the Indo-European language family. Today, English is spoken by residents of England, Australia, the United States, New Zealand, Ireland, Malta, Canada, as well as in some countries in Asia and Africa, so this language is alive and constantly developing.
Features of modern English due to the fact that English is spoken by people from all continents, the language core is constantly enriched, which contributes to the emergence of new words, synonyms and expressions. At the same time, English grammar is quite simple, despite the large number of irregular verbs and

exceptions that need to be memorized. Most words in English are monosyllabic, and punctuation is one of the simplest in the world. That is why English has become so widespread among all peoples. The most difficult thing in English is spelling. The pronunciation of words often does not match the spelling, so it is customary to specify the transcription. Despite this, modern English is easy to learn and understand, and slang expressions are simplified. Modern English versions:
Modern English combines several regional variations of Canadian, American, British, New Zealand, and Australian English. There are several dozen dialects that should be studied only after mastering the classic versions of the language that currently dominate the world.
British English has a more conservative character, requires strict adherence to the rules, clear pronunciation, correct placement of words in a sentence, and so on. Abbreviated phrases and swallowing endings are taboo for all Brits. There is also the so-called "Royal English" spoken by the royal family.
The American version of English, which the English themselves sometimes call "bad English". It is easy to guess that this form of language has all the opposite features. This is a simplified version of a language that has become very poor in the course of its education. Due to the dynamism and enslavement inherent in the American mentality, "correct" English has not taken root here, so there is an opinion that the American form of English is easier to learn.
English is spoken by more than 350 million people and is the native language of 12 nations and the official language of more than 33 nationalities. This means that one in seven people in the world speaks English. English is also the international language of businessmen, pilots and air traffic controllers, athletes, scientists and students. If you want to become a flight attendant, pilot or airline dispatcher, you must learn English, the language of international communication. Every year thousands of people from Uzbekistan go to different countries as tourists or to work. They cannot go without knowing the language of the country they are going to.
A modern engineer or even a worker can't work with an imported tool or machine if they can't read the instructions on how to do it. I also admire the way English has spread around the world, becoming the language of international communication. After all, it was originally the language of a relatively small island European state. And now English is spoken on all continents and studied in every country. Without downplaying the importance of other languages, it should be noted that without knowledge of English in the modern world, it is simply impossible.
Scientific articles are published primarily in English, as well as news in any field of knowledge. In addition, English is a very beautiful and interesting language to learn. It has been formed for hundreds of years, absorbing many of the other languages and becoming what we see it now. English is rich in

synonyms, words with different shades of meaning, funny idioms, and hundreds of phrasal verbs.
The importance of English in the modern world is so great that its knowledge is not a privilege and luxury. Once, computers, as well as mobile phones, could only afford people of a certain social stratum. Now such things are essential items. The same can be said about English. It is taught everywhere: in schools, universities, and courses. There are many ways to learn foreign languages. For self-study, the Internet offers us a wide range of educational materials, online courses, smartphone apps, training channels on youtube, special social networks, etc. In addition, every city is seeing an increase in the number of language centers with qualified local as well as foreign teachers. It is assumed that any educated person is simply obliged to speak English, since it is his key to further self-education and self-improvement. This is why there are so many organizations offering to teach you English. However, do not think that this is so easy to do. Learning any language is a long process that requires certain costs, both mental and financial.
This is the language of business, technology, sports, and aviation. In General, the political, economic, scientific, and sporting life of the entire world "flows" in English. English is the official and working language of the United Nations. All kinds of summits and meetings of heads of state, signing of laws and decrees, negotiations and debates - all this is conducted in English. International trade, the banking system, and the transport system on land, at sea, and in the air are conducted in English. This language is a living communication tool for academics, doctors of science, and scientists around the world. After all, international conferences, the study of world experience and the exchange of information of scientific minds takes place only with the use of English. What can I say - the Olympic games and various competitions between countries have chosen English as the official language.
Finally, it should be noted that a foreign language is now becoming more of a means of life support for society. The role of a foreign language is increasing due to the development of economic relations. Foreign language literacy of our citizens contributes to the formation of a decent image of abroad, which allows you to break the barrier of distrust, give you the opportunity to carry and spread your culture and master another.
