THE ROLE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN THE MODERN
WORLD
Annotation: In this article highlights of the role of the English language in the modern world.

Learning a foreign language in the modern world is one of the most important components of a modern successful person. Knowledge of at least one foreign language broadens your horizons, allows you to learn the culture and customs of another people. Everyone wants to be successful and successful in business. In this case, knowledge of a foreign language is necessary. First, it is additional knowledge, and second, employers prefer a specialist who speaks a foreign language.
However, this is not the most important thing. The main point is the opportunity to plunge into the world of the mysterious and incomprehensible, the opportunity to communicate with people and with another layer of worldview and mentality. As you know, language is a social value. Its inclusion in the school curriculum is a social order of society. But for most, a foreign language is a potential value, not a real one. To remove the contradiction between the subjective personal meaning of the activity of mastering it can be two factors-the appropriate communicative technique and the personality and skill of the teacher. The object of research is English.
The subject of the research is the role of the English language in the modern world. Goal: to study the origin of the English language and prove its role in the modern world. Tasks: study and analyze the scientific and methodological literature on the topic; consider the role of English as an international language; summarize the research materials. It is generally accepted to learn English as the international equivalent of communication. But this does not detract from the importance of learning other foreign languages. Perhaps someone will be outraged and say that not everyone is able to learn a foreign language. Alas, the abilities of each member of society are clearly individual. humanitarian mindset. But, of course, every person has abilities and this fact is unlikely to disagree with anyone.
The most important thing is to develop these abilities, to feed and strengthen them. By the way, thanks to the study of a foreign language - you will improve your memory and attention. By the way, children who study foreign languages intensively are much more focused, attentive, diligent and smart than their peers. So, as they say, there would be a desire, and the opportunity, ways and time can always be found to learn a foreign language and plunge into another world! The role of the English language in the modern world. Wherever you are on the globe-you are sure to hear English everywhere.
English, the most widely taught language, does not replace other languages, but complements them. 300 million Chinese - more than the entire population of the United States-learn English. In 90 countries, English is either a second language or widely used. In France, public secondary schools require students to study English or German for four years, and the majority — at least 85% - choose English. In Japan, students must study English for six years before graduating from high school. In Norway, Sweden and Denmark, English is mandatory.
English is one of the Germanic languages of the Indo-European language family. It is native to about 410 million people. In total, about 1 billion people in the world speak English (including those for whom English is the second language). Everyone, of course, has long known that knowledge of the English language can be very useful in life. First, by knowing English, we can get more information from different media. This may be your computer, where all technical information is written in English.
You can read books in the original language, the translation does not always objectively reflect the true feelings and emotions that the author put into the novel. What about technical literature? After all, in this case, you would be able to independently study any technique, program and equipment that interests you. Secondly, if you know English, you will always have the opportunity to talk with interesting people on a variety of topics, in addition, you can always go abroad as a tourist, which is much more convenient and cheaper. And if you are a careerist? In this case, you need English as much as air.
You dream of being an international businessman. How can we do it without English? After all, all international negotiations, trading on stock exchanges-all of them are conducted in English, but you want to participate in international conferences, communicate with business people, read international magazines and newspapers about business, in this case, of course, you must know English, improving it every day. What if your dream is to become a famous scientist? Then in this case, you must know English as your native language, at least - not worse.

After all, you will need to communicate with colleagues from other countries, attend and perhaps hold international symposiums, conferences, seminars and forums. In addition, all the latest and most advanced discoveries of world significance are published in English-language magazines and Newspapers. And your hobby? After all, everyone has their own hobby. But everyone loves music and songs - it's not a secret.
And knowing English, you will always know exactly what the American singer sings, and reading books in the original is much more interesting and exciting than translations. And movies? In this case, you also do not need a nasal translator who speaks simultaneously with a stuffy nose and a clogged mouth. And the Internet? This is generally a bottomless ocean of information, but most of the most necessary, just presented in English, so necessary in our time. By the way, more than one and a half billion people speak English, and the same number study it. After all, almost all international conferences and competitions are held in English. Remember only the miss world pageant and the Olympic games. And then, in your resume, you will put not a dash, but a tick, which will make it easier for you to get a job. And maybe someone who has learned English perfectly will be able to give lessons, in other words, be a tutor for schoolchildren and students.
Conclusion. Learning a foreign language in the modern world is one of the most important components of a modern successful person. Knowledge of at least one foreign language broadens your horizons, allows you to learn the culture and customs of another people.
