The development of interest of younger students to the art of music. The development of the interest of younger schoolchildren in musical art is one of the most important tasks of the modern school. In the process of learning, the development of interest is of great importance, since without it it is impossible to perceive the material. Being a learning tool, interest actualizes the most important elements of knowledge and contributes to the successful acquisition of skills.

Cognitive interest contributes to the oncoming movement of the student to the teacher, which is necessary for a successful learning process. As well as cognitive interest contributes to the formation of personality. The development of interest in music art affects the learning of the child, the more the child is interested in music, the richer and brighter his imagination, feelings, spiritual world. Of particular importance is the problem of interest and enthusiasm in the field of art, where without emotional enthusiasm it is impossible to achieve even small results, no matter how much you give it strength.

The task of the teacher is to develop students' interest and increase its level. Today, music education and upbringing of students can be rightfully referred to the most priority areas of scientific and pedagogical research. In elementary school, the foundations of music education are being laid; therefore, interest in the problem of children's musical development among teachers has grown, due to the desire to find new effective mechanisms for interacting with the student's personality to achieve effective results in the process of music education. In the course of the psychological and pedagogical research, the degree of elaboration of the problem of developing musical interest among younger students in pedagogical theory and practice was studied and analyzed, and the theoretical and methodological foundations of the research were determined.

In the course of studying psychological and pedagogical literature, we concluded that it is not easy for a teacher to orient himself in a huge amount of publications on the development of interest and to streamline, from the teacher's point of view, the flow of conflicting opinions and theories in the field of music education of younger schoolchildren. We tried to analyze ambiguous concepts, to build an interpretation of interest that would best meet the needs of music and teaching practice. Interest is a selective focus of a person's attention, a manifestation of his mental and emotional activity, an activator of various feelings, a special fusion of emotional-volitional and intellectual processes that increase the activity of consciousness and human activity. Interest can be called the leading motivator of human activity. Through interest, we penetrate into the processes of interaction between subject and object, into the mechanisms of activity, and we consider it from the inside.

A special place in the educational process is the development of interest of younger students in the art of music. This paper proposes a diagnostic technique aimed at developing an interest in musical art in children of primary school age, which: provides a comprehensive survey of all musical activity. Also, a diagnostic study of the level of musical interest has been conducted and the dynamics of the development of the level of musical interest have been analyzed.
