After the independence of our country, the attitude to the formation of patriotic education and propaganda among young people has changed radically. It is extremely important to study the formation and development of the patriotic spirit in our students. Indeed, depending on the goals and aspirations of young people, their level of knowledge, their understanding of their duties and responsibilities to the Motherland, the people, the nation, it is easy to tell what the future of the country, the nation can be. It is expedient to educate students in the spirit of high patriotism, to use effectively the pages of our centuries-old national and cultural heritage, values, history and traditions[1].

The Action Strategy for the Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 20172021 identifies one of the five priorities for improving the system of state and society building as "ensuring security, interethnic harmony and religious tolerance and a well-thought-out, mutually beneficial and practical foreign policy."

In our country, measures to coordinate and integrate the educational work to form a patriotic spirit in students, to achieve a comprehensive system of work, the formation of a patriotic spirit in neighborhoods, educational institutions are important in the organization and systematization of educational work on the basis of fundamentally new (innovative) approaches. the need is felt[2].

Patriotism and national identity are the two wings of a whole - the spiritual world of man and citizen. The patriotism of our people is embodied in the careful treatment of the honor, dignity, culture, customs and history of our compatriots.

The idea of patriotism has always had a special place not only in the spiritual life of society, but also in all the most important spheres of society, such as ideology, politics, culture, economy, ecology and so on.

Patriotism is an integral part of the Uzbek national idea, an integral part of the country's culture and science, created over the centuries. It has always been valued as a source of courage, heroism and the strength of the Uzbek people as a necessary condition for the greatness and power of our state.

The stronger the sense of patriotism and patriotism in young people, the stronger and more stable their need for spiritual maturity.

The content and direction of patriotism is determined, first of all, by the spiritual and moral climate in the society, the historical roots of the society that nourish the social life of generations[3].

The role and importance of patriotism is accompanied by a sharp turn in history, objective trends in the development of society, accompanied by an increase in civil society (wars, invasions, social conflicts, revolutionary upheavals, crises, power struggles, emergencies and other disasters, etc.). period.

The manifestation of patriotism in such periods is manifested by high noble aspirations, the qualities of self-sacrifice for one's people, one's homeland. It makes it difficult to talk about patriotism, and of course, about an unprecedented event.

Thus, the concepts of homeland, patriotism, and belief in the motherland are interconnected, closely intertwined, and manifest themselves in the process of human activity. One complements the other. It is impossible to imagine patriotism without patriotism, belief in the homeland without patriotism

The political consciousness, moral courage, and heroism of famous people in the history of Uzbekistan, which combine courage and bravery in the fight against enemies, serve as our guide.

Now there is an opportunity to shed light on history. Today, the historical figures of our great ancestors, who were ignored, are being restored[4].

It is clear from these words that the patriotism of our ancestors, their courage, their just rule of the country, their courageous battles with the enemies can be seen in the Urhun-Yenisei inscriptions. It is no secret to any of us that in the sacred religion of Islam, which has been practiced since the time of our ancestors, the concept of "homeland" is expressed after the concept of faith.

The rich spiritual and material heritage left to us by our ancestors plays an important role in shaping the thinking and worldview of the next generation on the basis of national and universal values, love for the Motherland, patriotism and nationalism,

being worthy children of ancestors and continuing their creative activities. "Today, we are all happy that the inexhaustible genius of our great ancestors is being respected all over the world and that there is a growing interest in studying their rich scientific heritage[5].

The erection of monuments in honor of Ibn Sina in Belgium, Mirzo Ulugbek in Lithuania, Alisher Navoi in Moscow, Tokyo and Baku, and Ahmad Fergani in Cairo, Egypt, arouses boundless pride in the hearts of every citizen.

Based on the above considerations, the Action Strategy for the Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan states that "educating physically healthy, mentally and intellectually developed, independent-minded, loyal to the Fatherland, strong social outlook, deepening democratic reforms and increasing their social activity in the development of civil society." As a result of the attention paid to the youth in our country, it is necessary to bring up a young generation that can reflect the active civic position of a democratic state governed by the rule of law and serve with devotion to the motherland and patriotic qualities[5].

As a result of the attention paid to the youth in our country, it is necessary to bring up a young generation that can reflect the active civic position of a democratic state governed by the rule of law and serve with devotion to the motherland and patriotic qualities.

The current socio-political, spiritual, enlightenment and cultural potential of our country, its economic situation, the intelligence and will of our people, its ability to fulfill the task of educating a healthy, harmoniously developed generation that will create a free, prosperous and happy future. Therefore, today it is necessary to work actively to bring up a harmoniously developed generation worthy of a great state, to bring them up as spiritually mature, physically strong, enlightened, highly qualified personnel.

According to O. Gaybullayev, "Loving the Motherland, inculcating universal moral and spiritual values, expressing national identity in the minds of modern youth; kindness - compassionate, conscientious, thoughtful upbringing". The scientist highlighted the issue of patriotic upbringing of young people on the basis of national and universal values, education in the spirit of respect for their history and national values.[6]

Today, it is important to educate the younger generation in the spirit of kindness, generosity, love for the Fatherland, nationalism and confidence in the future. The rich national spiritual and cultural heritage and great discoveries left by our ancestors for generations serve as an important factor in the development of the youth of our country in the spirit of respect for the spirit of ancestors, love for the Motherland and nationalism.

Only in a person with a sense of homeland can a sense of patriotism be aroused.

When we say patriotism, we mean:

- to know and be proud of their people, language, history;

- Preservation of our spirituality, cultural heritage and values, their transmission to

future generations;

- to continue the work of great ancestors, to be their worthy successor;

- Remembering the names of heroes who died in battles, defending the homeland;

- To live with high faith in our unique Motherland, to be always loyal to it.

One of the main tasks is to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism, to teach them a deep understanding of the meaning of the concept of homeland, to explain that patriotism is a high moral principle.

The formation of a patriotic spirit in students requires the coordination of educational work, the development of a systematic action plan in order to achieve the effectiveness of the work carried out. The issue of forming loyalty, devotion and patriotism in the youth is the basis for the education of young people, the use of ancient sources and the teachings of Eastern thinkers in the organization of spiritual and educational work.
