ANNOTATION

Lexicographers are increasingly acknowledging the vast potential of electronic dictionaries. This article focuses on the emerging field of computer lexicography, which centers around the development of electronic dictionaries. The article discusses the benefits of these dictionaries in contrast to traditional paper dictionaries, and provides a concise overview of various electronic dictionary options.

Furthermore, the article highlights the importance of developing analytical skills in students during the study of the English language. It emphasizes that electronic dictionaries can play a significant role in this process by providing students with instant access to definitions, synonyms, antonyms, and other linguistic information. This not only helps students improve their vocabulary and comprehension but also encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The article also addresses the specific needs of children learning phonetics. It suggests that effective strategies and methods should be employed to teach phonetics to children, as it forms the foundation of language learning. Electronic dictionaries can be a valuable tool in this regard, offering interactive features such as pronunciation guides, audio samples, and visual aids to help children grasp phonetic concepts more easily.

Samuel Johnson, in which he gave the origin of word and examples from the works of the best writers.

Another major milestone is the New English Dictionary of Oxford English Dictionary. It was written from 1888 up to 1928. It covers the vocabulary of English with a full historical evidence. It has 13 volumes and a supplement containing neolo-gism(new words)

Methodology

Modern lexicography has greatly expanded and strengthened computer tools for creating and using dictionaries. This branch of applied linguistics is called computer lexicography As we mentioned above, in this article we will consider the positive and negative aspects of electronic and traditional dictionaries. The dynamics of the need for an electronic dictionary in practical linguists is growing. This is especially useful for the correct use of word forms in the reference language in the process of learning foreign languages. Today, translators are switching to electronic dictionaries in their work processes.

Translators and lexicographers face challenges of accurate translation and adequate representation of a variety of linguistic concepts. [1]

There are several types of dictionaries, of which the translation dictionary is widely used. The first dictionaries appeared in the form of paper, and they contained several advantages and disadvantages. Now let's talk about the disadvantages of paper dictionaries:

• Low speed quality

• Not updated frequently

• Paper dictionaries are large in size and inconvenient to carry

Advantages of paper dictionaries

• Based on reliable sources of information compiled by experts

• Better for the eyes

• Using the book gives a good mood to humanity.

As there are two sides to everything, electronic dictionaries have enough disadvantages in their use in the educational system. One of them is the need for a certain device and the need for an Internet communication system to use electronic dictionaries. At present, unfortunately, the fact that Internet networks are not spread over the entire territory of our country and the slight lack of speed creates enough shortcomings in the field. One of the last disadvantages of today's main topic is harming our health. This damage is particularly damaging to our eyes. That's why some parents prefer that their children use paper dictionaries rather than electronic dictionaries when learning a certain language.

The development of interactive and personalized dictionaries to meet the needs of modern users.[2]

In contemporary lexicography, the convergence of traditional methodologies with emerging digital technologies has sparked a dynamic landscape of challenges and opportunities. The synthesis of theory and practice in both traditional and electronic dictionaries unveils a myriad of current issues that shape the field.

Firstly, the advent of electronic dictionaries has revolutionized the way lexical data is collected, analyzed, and disseminated. Online platforms and digital resources offer unprecedented accessibility and interactivity, enabling lexicographers to incorporate diverse linguistic corpora and real-time language usage data. However, this digital shift poses challenges regarding data integrity, copyright, and the preservation of linguistic heritage in the digital age.

Secondly, the role of theory in lexicography remains pivotal in guiding dictionary compilation, semantic analysis, and user-oriented design. The integration of linguistic theories, such as corpus linguistics and cognitive semantics, enhances the accuracy and relevance of lexical entries, accommodating the multifaceted nature of language usage across different contexts and domains. Nonetheless, theoretical frameworks must adapt to the evolving needs of users and the complexities of linguistic variation, necessitating ongoing interdisciplinary collaboration and theoretical innovation.

Moreover, the emergence of multilingualism and globalization underscores the importance of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural perspectives in dictionary development. Multilingual dictionaries and translation tools bridge linguistic barriers, facilitating communication and cultural exchange in an interconnected world. Yet, the harmonization of linguistic diversity and the maintenance of linguistic equity remain pressing concerns, requiring inclusive lexicographic practices that reflect the richness of global linguistic repertoires.

In conclusion, every good thing has its opposite effect. To sum up it is challenging to imagine our study or work without lexicography, because any schoolchild, student and even en experienced teacher, those activities are closely related to learning or teaching a language, constantly needs the best dictionary that can always help in any situation time. The main issue is that lexicography should be introduced and developed by lexicographers.

The study of current issues in lexicography illuminates the dynamic interplay between theory and practice, tradition and innovation, in shaping the landscape of dictionary-making. By addressing these challenges with creativity, critical thinking, and technological advancement, lexicographers can enrich the quality and accessibili-
