Doctor, scholar, philosopher and poet Abu Ali al-Hussein ibn Abdallah ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Sina (latinized name - Avicenna) was born in the village of. Afshana, near Bukhara. He lived in Central Asia and Iran, studied mathematics, astronomy, philosophy and medicine in Bukhara, held positions of doctor and

vizier with various rulers.

Iranian by origin. His biography, compiled by himself (covering the first 30 years of his life) and continued by his student al-Juzdzhani, was preserved in three close editions. He received his primary education from his father, an official of the Samanid administration, who belonged to the Ismailis. Distinguished by his outstanding abilities, already by the age of 10 he knew the Koran by heart and mastered the verbal disciplines (grammar of Persian and Arabic languages, poetics, rhetoric, literature and history). He studied mathematics from the trader Mahmud Massoh, logic and fiqh (Muslim law) - from Ismail Zahid, medicine -from the Bukhara doctor Abu Mansour Kamari. Philosophy was taught by the scholar Abu Abdallah Natili, who soon surpassed in knowledge. From the age of 15 he began to study independently and by the time he was 18 he was already a mature scientist; at this time he became known in Bukhara and as a skilled doctor. In 1002, shortly after his father's death, he moved to the capital of Khorezm Gurganj (now Urgench), whose scientific life centered around the "Academy of Mamun", which unites large scientists. In 1008, after Ibn Sina's refusal to enter the service to the Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, a prosperous life gave way to years of wandering around Khorasan and Tabaristan. Some of the work he wrote in the saddle during his long journeys. In 1015-1024 he lived in Hamadan, combining scientific activity with a very active participation in political and state affairs of the emirate (he occupied the posts of the vizier and the court doctor Emir Hamadan Shams al-Dawla). After the death of the emir for imprisonment for the service to the ruler of Isfahan, he was imprisoned for four months in the fortress. In the last years of his life he served in Isfahan at the court of the Emir Al-ad-Davl.

A significant part of the philosophical and scientific works of Ibn Sina has survived. His works, written mostly in Arabic (some in Farsi), cover, in addition to philosophical disciplines, chemistry, geology, grammar, poetics, history, Koranic exegesis, mysticism. The formation of his philosophical views was influenced by the works of al-Farabi, whom Ibn Sina called his second teacher after Aristotle, and also Neoplatonism, with ideas of which he was primarily familiar with the so-called "Aristotle's Theology" (extraction from 4-6 sections of the Ennead Dam). The main philosophical work of Ibn Sina - encyclopedic work "The Book of Healing" - consists of four sections: logic, physics, mathematical sciences (geometry, arithmetic, music, astronomy) and metaphysics. To this work adjoins the "Knowledge Book" written in Farsi ("Danish-nime"). In a condensed presentation, the philosophical ideas of the "Book of Healing" are contained in the "Book of Salvation." "Book of instructions and instructions, written in the last years of life - a summary of his philosophical ideas, influenced by Sufism. Among other works, the Canon of Medical Medicine had the greatest influence on scientists of the East and Europe for several centuries. Preserved a few poems (mostly in the form of rubai).
