ABSTRACT

This article deals with a literary work that is usually characterized by a sense of emotion. Emotion is considered to be one of the distinctive features of a literary work. The article also contains examples from an English literary work. Usually stylistic means, expressive means, etc. are means of revealing the emotionality of the patterns given in a particular play.

Keywords: Exaggerate, emotionally, phrase, enhance, assimilate, lexical, stylistic, syntactic, works.

INTRODUCTION

Many spiritually diverse specimens can be found in the five feet apart work. The subtleties of fiction are many. And in this play one can find many examples of lexical, stylistic, and syntactic. And this made the work more imaginative and more interesting.

ANALYSIS AND RESULTS

"I trace the outline of my sister's drawing, lungs molded from a sea of flowers. Petals burst out from every edge of the twin ovals in soft pinks, deep whites, even heather blues, but somehow each one has a uniqueness, a vibrancy that feels likeit'll bloom forever". In this extract there is simile, hyperbole. Here, short sentence is: "Petals burst out from every edge of the twin ovals in soft pinks, deep whites, even heather blues, but somehow each one has a uniqueness, a vibrancy that feels like it'll bloom forever." And writer uses hyperbole when he says "it will bloom forever". And he uses simile by likening the situation to "it'll bloom forever".

""Some of the flowers haven't blossomed yet, and I can feel the promise of life just waiting to unfold from the tiny buds under the weight of my finger. Those are my favorites". In this extract author uses personification. In the given example, personification is used with the help of " promise of life". That also creates the emotionality of the text.

"I wonder, all too often, what it would be like to have lungs this healthy. This alive". In the above mentioned example, separated by a secondary level such as "this alive" and this helps to create emotiveness through detached constructions.

"Identical smiles peek out from underneath thick wool scarves, the holiday lights at the park down the street twinkling above our head just like the stars in her drawing". Here, author uses simile by likening holiday lights at the park to stars in her drawing.

Additionally, in this story author uses personification. For example: "this photo always makes me remember that feeling". And it raises the emotiveness.

"Me wearing a nose cannula, the cable twisting to form an infinity sign. Me with my nebulizer, the vapor pouring out of it forming a cloudy halo". In this sentences author uses hyperbole and also oxymoron. Hyperbole is used by saying "infinity sign", and this is exaggerated statement. And author also uses oxymoron to show emotiveness in this example combination of two phrases "cloudy" and "halo", the reader feels the emotive character of the phrase.

Additionally, author uses aposiopesis. In the example "And right underneath all that vibrancy is . . . my pile of medical equipment, sitting right next to a hideous green faux-leather hospital chair that comes standard or every room here at Saint Grace's. And this gives odd emotiveness".

"Here it is! A voice calls from just outside my room. I look up as the door slowly creaks open and two familiar faces appear in the small crack of the doorway". In this sentence" two familiar faces" mean two people and this helps to create synecdoche.

"Camila and Mya have visited me here a million times in the past decade, and they still can't get from the lobby to my room without asking every person in the building or directions". In this sentence author uses hyperbole for exaggerating meaning with "million times".

"I go to school, I hang out with Camila and Mya, I work on my app. I just do it all with low-functioning lungs".

In this sentence author uses parallel construction for enhancing emotiveness:

"I say, smiling hopefully and looking back and forth between Camila and Mya. Neither of them returns my smile, though, and both opt to continue looking like I killed their family pets". Additionally, author uses several conjunctions. I mean, author used "and" much. This helps to create polysyndeton. And also author assimilates Camila and Mya's looking to she "killed their family pets". This creates simile.

Besides author uses cliche. Example: "Camila, I say, grabbing a hite-and-blue-striped bikini that I can tell will fit her like a glove".

"I stand up, my heart sinking in my chest at the thought of them leaving, but I don't want to hold them up". In this sentence, Personification is used by saying "my heart sinking". And this shows emotion.

Additionally, again author uses several aposiopesis examples. In this example, "And after losing each other, they won't be able to handle losing me, too. I know it. If I can get better, maybe... Another is example "Dr. Hamidsays I'm steadily climbing to the

top of the transplant list now, so I'll be here for a month, taking antibiotics, sticking to my regimen...."

"Super fun! I say with a ton of enthusiasm as the awkwardness melts away. I open a folder on my desktop filled with pictures". In the above mentioned example, author uses hyperbole to enhance emotion. And likening "ton of enthusiasm to awkwardness melts away" creates simile.

CONCLUSION

According to the analytical examples of the above work, the writer used lexical and stylistic and syntax to increase the impact of the work. And furtherenhanced the appeal of this work. The metaphor and metonymy used in the fictional works and the cliche and other stylistic device, expressive means that make the work more interesting.
