WORDS-CONCEPTS AND CONCEPTIONS OF THE ACTIVITY (TO THE PHILOSOPHICAL COMPREHENSION OF THE LIBRARY THEORY AND PRACTICE)
Рассматриваются горизонты понимания и смысла, связанные с дискуссией о терминах в современном отечественном библиотековедении. Утверждается, что слова-концепты выполняют не только функцию обобщения, в них «схватывается» концепция библиотечной деятельности и библиотеки

Abstract. The authors consider the horizons of comprehension and meaning associated with the discussion about the terms in the modern Russian librarianship. They say that the word-concepts have not only a function of generalization, but they "grasp" the concept of library activities, and libraries.

The contents of essentially significant discussions in the Russian library science and practice of a library science is analyzed and philosophically comprehended in the article.
The general sense of these discussions is reduced to a problem question: "What is the library, library activity (and its participants) in the modern culture and modern society? " or "How is the library in modern culture possible?" The content of this question is comprehended as a hermeneutic circle. The questions of individual and general character are sent in such circle to each other; only in the context of pre- understanding of the general the private questions can be raised and receive answers. The first horizon of understanding is "internal" for the theory and practice of a library science. The discussion about terms correlates in it with questions of functions, mission, the economic status of libraries and library activity, of reference points of the library policy. The wider horizon of understanding connects library-scientific problems and philosophical and cultural ones, which allow understanding the library in a context of culture, and culture through a prism of library problems.
The self-reflection is carried out through the discussions about notions and terms of library science. Libraries appeared to be a sociocultural institute on the example of which crisis of culture becomes directly notable reality. The library is in epicenter of axiological crisis and social and economic, socio-political, technological shifts, in epicenter of information development of the country. It is analyzed the discussion on the words concepts "reader", "user", "client". During the discussion rises the prob-
lem of crisis of identity of library, an antagonism of two main professional ideologies - information and educational. It is shown that a concept is not simply the synonym of the notion. The contents of the independent concept are concluded in a concept. The concept is the conception squeezed to the word. The introduction of new words-concepts in professional terminology carries out consciousness "marking". With each word-concept, the new ideology, new philosophy comes also into the professional language.
Words-concepts are joint elements for professional language. They express a deep essence and sense of a library science, they are its cultural codes. Loss of language is fraught with the loss of independence, originality. At the same time experts are compelled to look for and use new words-concepts and new approaches in professional activity (customer-oriented, service). Libraries are compelled to adapt for the new economic relations not to miss opportunity to carry out the main, humanitarian mission.
It is paid attention to the importance of preservation of this primordial mission of the library, its traditional educational function, its status as a subject and an institute of culture. It is necessary for saving an area of spirituality in the space of economically focused culture. The library as "the model of the culture" can show to the society a new model of culture. The words-concepts "reader", "reading", "book" won't leave the professional and ordinary language. To force out such concepts from modern culture, we need new terms, which would be adequate to them on the cultural potential.
