Официальный визит в Россию Премьер-министра Ирака Мухаммедом Судани (2023 г.), а ранее визит министра иностранных дел России С. Лаврова в Ирак подтвердили решимость развивать российско - иракское сотрудничество в экономической, энергетической и иных областях, проявляя заинтересованность в совместном противодействии различным экстремистским группировкам и идеологии. В частности, Республика Ирак заняла взвешенную позицию по вопросу проведения РФ специальной военной операции (СВО) на территории Украины. Неприсоединение Ирака к антироссийским санкциям продиктовано, в том числе наличием крупных российских инвестиций в иракский энергетический сектор.
Выводы. Не смотря на сложную военно - политическую ситуацию в Ираке, российские энергетические (нефтегазовые) капании выполняют свои контрактные обязательства и выстраивают отношения на долгосрочную перспективу. В свою очередь Россия может учесть и при необходимости использовать опыт Ирака по противоборству последствиям санкционного «беспредела» со стороны ряда стран. При этом и Российская Федерация и Республика Ирак имеют четкую прагматическую программу всестороннего сотрудничества, в первую очередь в сфере энергетики, что позволит обеспечить безопасность обоих государств, минимизировать объективные (и провокационные) риски и угрозы в условиях перехода от однополярности к многополярному мироустройству.
