SIGNIFICANCE OF MENTORING IN SUPPORTING UZBEK INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS IN JAPAN FOCUSING ON THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROCESS OF INTERNATIONAL

ABSTRACT
As the number of international students increases, support for international students in a broad sense is required in order to comprehensively build an international student environment such as life and career support as well as teaching Japanese.
Online mentoring has been conducted by the Uzbekistan Youth Associations in Japan since May 2020, and has been conducted 46 times until February 2022. Mentors are Uzbeks with some experience learning and working in Japan, talking about their careers and giving advice.
The motivation for writing this paper is to examine the characteristics and significance of mentoring as a support for Uzbek international students.
The purpose of the research is possible to clarify how Uzbekistan international students develop their careers from the time they start learning Japanese until they study abroad in Japan, or until they go on to higher education, and what kind of influence mentoring has had on their career development.
By showing the career development process of Uzbek international students on a TEM diagram, multiple points that became branch points and essential transit points were clarified.
The influence of mentoring was seen on the career development process of Uzbek international students. It participated in mentoring and received advice and support from mentors such as Japanese information, career models, and support for entrance exams and interview tips. In addition, it can be said that he has transformed from a "working international student" to a "growing international student" by receiving advice from a mentor for a part-time job andfuture. It is thought that mentoring had a great influence on the career development of international students.
From the above results, I would like to conclude this paper that mentoring is meaningful in being able to consult with a mentor from the same country in the career development of international students.
