Method is a technique, method or course of action; the way to achieve the goal, a certain way ordered activity; a set of techniques or operations of practical or theoretical development of reality, subordinate to the solution of a specific task. In the literature there are various approaches to the definition of the teaching method: 1) the way a teacher and students work; 2) a set of work practices; 3) the way in which the teacher leads students from ignorance to knowledge; 4) the system of teacher and student actions The method of learning as a way to achieve the goal of learning is a system of consistent and orderly actions of the teacher, organizing with the help of certain means practical and cognitive activity of students to master social experience. At the same time, the activity of the teacher, on the one hand, is determined by the purpose of learning, the patterns of learning and the nature of the learning activities of schoolchildren, and on the other, it itself determines this activity, the realization of patterns of learning and development. Most teachers consider methods as methods of orderly interconnected activity of a teacher and students, aimed at solving a complex of tasks of the educational process. Philosophers note that in social and material reality there are no methods, and there are only objective laws. That is, the methods are in the mind, in the conscious activity of man. The method directly captures not what is in the objective world, but how a person should act in the process of cognition and practical action. The main idea contained in the method as a pedagogical term is an indication of the pedagogically expedient action. M.I. Makhmutov in the methods distinguishes two sides: external and internal. The outer one reflects the way the teacher acts, the inner one - by what rules he is guided. Thus, this concept should reflect the unity of the internal and external, the connection of theory and practice, the connection of the activities of the teacher and the student. The teaching method is a system of regulative principles and rules for organizing

pedagogically expedient interaction between a teacher and students, applied to a specific range of tasks of training, development and education. This definition emphasizes that the method contains both the rules of how to act and the methods of action themselves. Along with the concept of "teaching method" in theory and pedagogical practice, the concepts of "method of teaching", "methodical method" are used. It is considered that the method as a way of activity consists of techniques or individual actions aimed at solving pedagogical problems. The active method is a form of interaction between students and the teacher, in which the teacher and the students interact with each other during the lesson and the students here are not passive students, but active participants in the lesson. If in the passive lesson the teacher was the main character and manager of the lesson, here the teacher and the students are on an equal footing. If the passive methods assumed an authoritarian style of interaction, then the active ones presuppose a democratic style more. Many place an equal sign between active and interactive methods; however, despite the commonality, they have differences. Interactive methods can be considered as the most modern form of active methods. One of the characteristic features of modern education is a sharp increase in the amount of information that needs to be learned, "digested" by the student. At the same time, an increase in the volume of educational information is observed in all school disciplines: in chemistry, in physics, in literature, and of course in computer science. Since the "normal" student has the limits of learning new information, there is an active question in the teaching circles about changing the content of school subjects. A change in content, on the one hand, implies a reduction in the volume of content, and on the other hand, the replacement of one training topic with another, more important for the formation of a competent person. The concept of a competent person is based on the ability of an individual to take responsibility when solving problems that arise, to be independent in setting tasks and their solutions, to learn throughout life. For each subject develops its own concept of competence. It is obvious that the transition from learning "knowledge, skills, skills" to a competent approach will require a change in all components of the educational process: content, methods of control and teaching methods. One of the possible directions of changing teaching methods in the transition to a competent approach is the use of active teaching methods in the educational process.
