IV International Forum of students, postgraduates, young scientists «Culture of Russia in the XXI century: past in the present, present in the future»:
the main results
Abstract. The article provides an overview of the main events held at the Higher school of folk arts (academy) within the framework of the IV International Forum of Students, Postgraduates, Young Scientists «Culture of Russia in the XXI century: past in the present, present in the future» on May 23-24,2024 - exhibitions, master classes, plenary and breakout sessions, public talks. The key areas of discussion have been identified and the main results of the Forum's work have been formulated.

The IV International Forum of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists "Culture of Russia in the XXI century: the past in the present the present in the future" was held in St. Petersburg. It was held within the framework of the Program "Unified scientific educational, artistic and creative space of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) as a factor in the preservation, revival and development of traditional crafts correlated with specific regional and historical centers of folk art" (2022-2024) and the innovative educational project of the federal innovation platform of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) on May 23-24, 2024. Traditionally the large-scale scientific event has become a platform for discussions about the fate of traditional artistic crafts, the essence of artistic originality and possible innovations, the problems of specialized professional education in this field from the perspective of those who are just starting their research path in science.
During the Forum exhibitions, master classes, public talks and work on sections were held; traditional applied art was presented in aspects of its theory and practice. The participants and guests of the IV International Forum were addressed with a welcoming speech: V.F. Tikhomirov, candidate of cultural studies, associate professor, vice-rector for scientific work of the Higher school of folk arts (academy); directors of the institutes - branches of the Academy - candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor O. V. Fedotova (Moscow); candidate of
pedagogical sciences M.A. Saltanov (Fedoskino); candidate of law, associate professor V.M. Naumov (Bogorodskoye); candidate of pedagogical sciences O.V. Ozerova (Sergiev Posad); S.Yu. In her speech she emphasized the uniqueness of the works of traditional applied art created by students: future artists, the importance of supporting and developing centers of traditional crafts and artists not only in the future but also at the present time. E. V. Afanasyeva presented the gratitude of the Chairman of the Federation Council to the Director of the Institute of Traditional Applied Arts O.V. Fedotova; also letters of thanks on her behalf to the students who took the most active part in the organization and work of the Forum were presented (fig. 2).

The solemn part continued with a plenary session (moderated by S.A. Tikhomirov) at which reports were heard revealing the results of scientific research of the Academy at all levels: from students ("Strategy for the development of student public communication in the Vkontakte social network" by R. Efremova) and graduate students ("Art History: how to make learning modern and interesting?" E.I. Semenova), to scientists who have devoted more than a year to work in the field of theory and practice of traditional artistic crafts ("Scientific and Pedagogical School of
V.F. Maksimovich: main ideas, achieved results, development potential" by S.A. Tikhomirov and "Scientific research activity is a factor in the formation of professional and universal competencies among students in the field of traditional applied arts" by P.E. Serov) (fig. 3). Thus, the main vectors of scientific discussions at the breakout sessions were outlined -continuation and the devel opment of the ideas of V.F. Maksimovich scientific

and pedagogical school in the research of graduate students and university teachers; popularization and promotion of traditional arts and crafts in modern society including information technology; improvement of the professional training experience of students in the field of research and specialized disciplines.
On the first day of the International Forum discussions took place within the sections "Unique traditional crafts as a unique professional education" (moderators - Ph.D., member of the Union of Artists of Russia, Associ ate Professor of the department of drawing and painting curator of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) P.E. Krivozubova); "Traditional crafts as national cultural heritage" (moderators - PhD, head of the department of language training, head of the international department of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) E.A. Nikolaeva; PhD, deputy director of educational work of the Fedoskinsky Institute of Lacquer Miniature Painting M.N. Mochalov. The special interest of the guests was aroused by the section "Scientific debuts: the results of scientific research in the field of traditional crafts of students of secondary vocational education"
(moderators - PhD, associate professor of the department of lacquer miniature painting of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) I. V. Kostycheva; PhD, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, associate professor of the department of drawing and painting at the Higher school of folk arts (academy) M.O. Lomakin)/ The issues of not only studying and preserving the historical experience of traditional artistic crafts but also the potential of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence in their promotion were revealed.
The second day of the International Forum was full of various events. The results of the development and testing of the ideas of dissertation research were presented at the postgraduate pedagogical section "Methodology and technology of vocational education in the field of traditional arts and crafts" (moderators - PhD Professor, head of the department of theory and methodology of vocational education of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) N.M. Alexandrova; PhD in culturology, associate professor, vice-rector for scientific work of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) S.A. Tikhomirov).
In the sections "Unique artistic crafts: cultural code, heritage style" (moderators - PhD, associate professor of the department of artistic lace weaving, head of the Art and Creative Laboratory of the scientific research of Institute of Traditional Arts and Crafts of the Higher school of folk arts (academy)

Yu.E. Lapina; Ph.D., head of the department of jewelry and bone-cutting art of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) M.V. Churakova) and "Traditional arts and crafts - the basis of cultural identity" (moderators -Ph.D., associate professor of the department of art history, head of the postgraduate department of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) I.I. Kurakina and Ph.D., director of the Fedoskin Institute of Lacquer Miniature Painting M.A. Saltanov). The participants made presentations on the problems of renovation and improvement of technological aspects of performing works of decorative and applied art and traditional crafts, the possibilities of using classical techniques in modern products, understanding the historical logic of the existence of the centers of traditional crafts (fig. 4, 5).
The memorable events of the IV International Forum and a new form of reflection on the fate of traditional applied art in the context of modernity were the public talks: "The unique art of artistic embroidery: cultural code, modern style, in-demand higher education" and "Why should a future artist of traditional applied art participate in creative competitions?" (moderators - PhD, associate professor, head of the department of Art History of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) L.M. Vanyushkina and PhD of cultural studies, associate professor, vice-rector for scientific work of the higher school of folk arts (academy) S.A. Tikhomirov).
The speakers are teachers of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) and branches. Experts in this field - S.Yu. Anisina, I.A. Komissarova (Ph.D), E. V. Saifulina (Ph.D) shared their experience in the development and promotion of artistic embroidery sources of inspiration in the development and projects management of educational course and final qualification works, the possibilities of integrating hand-made artistic and machine embroidery, interaction between the Academy and enterprises of artistic embroidery, (fig. 6).
Teachers and artists talked about how and why to participate in art competitions, what strategic and practical tasks are important for the professional formation and development of artists of traditional art and crafts can be solved through competitions, how to overcome fear and uncertainty and how to create a work that can impress the jury and the audience.: Candidate of Law N.G. Kuznetsov, Ph.D. Krivozubova, Ph.D. E.A. Lapshina, Ph.D. P.E. Serov, A.A. Polyakov (fig. 7).

The experience of holding a public talk allowed the guests and participants of the Forum to take part in the discussion and try to find "recipes" that really work and can be useful m their own artistic creative and professional activities.
During the
International Forum participants could get acquainted with the exhibitions of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) and branches which demonstrated the splendor of the national art of our country: artistic lace weaving ("Ryazan motifs", "Lace Souvenir", "Galich lace in the artistic and graphic projects of a student of the Department of Artistic Lace Weaving of the Higher school of folk arts (academy) named after Gutarova E.R.") and artistic embroidery (flat products of the Kholui Institute of Lacquer Miniature Painting named after N.N. Kharlamov and master's final qualifying works of the department of artistic embroidery "Science in traditional artistic embroidery"), bone-cutting and jewelry art, Zhostovo and Nizhny Tagil decorative painting, lacquer miniature painting and icon painting, dolls in national costumes, paintings by N.F. Neonet, educational and methodological works and manuals of the university teaching staff.
It is very valuable that the tradition of the Forum has become not only the creation of platforms for discussion and theoretical understanding of the problems of the centers of traditional arts and crafts but also providing an opportunity for the participants themselves to touch the origins of artistic traditions within the framework of master classes conducted by students of the Academy in accordance with the training profiles. So the guests were invited to try their hand at the field of Kholui and Fedoskin lacquer miniature painting, decorative metal painting in the traditions of Nizhny Tagil and "Moscow writing", coupling and numerical techniques of artistic lace weaving, color embroidery and Vladimir verkhoshvov, making a rag doll "Kuvatka" and Bogorodsky toy "Owl" (fig. 8-11).
The first and second days of the Forum were completed with a cultural program: guests and participants took a walking tour of the historical center of St. Petersburg with the head of the department of philosophy, doctor of philosophy, associate professor S.V. Lebedev; they visited the Faberge Museum.

It is gratifying that the IV International Forum of students, postgraduates and young Scientists "Culture of Russia in the XXI Century: past in the present, present in the future" has become an annual event uniting students and the professional community of Russia and other countries within which problematic issues are solved and prospects for scientific dialogue and creative interaction between representatives of art and education, state authorities are outlined.
