The following provides information on the upcoming International Scientific Conference "Strakhov Readings - 2019: Positive Psychology of Personality and Group", which will be held on November 7-8, 2019, at the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education of the National Research Saratov State University.

The International Scientific Conference "Strakhov Readings - 2019: Positive Psychology of Personality and Group" will be held on November 7-8, 2019, at the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education of Chernyshevsky Saratov State University upon the initiative of the Department of Social Psychology of Education and Development.
Developing the traditions of Saratov psychological school, that was founded by the Russian psychologist, specialist in the field of general and pedagogical psychology, Ivan Vladimirovich Strakhov, the conference is a logical continuation of the science forums held at the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education of Saratov State University under the patronage of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2018.
The main purpose of the conference is to understand the role of socio-cultural sources and the scientific content of Saratov psychological school of I. V. Strakhov and his followers in the modern interdisciplinary problematic field of psychology, sociology, pedagogy, and philosophy. At the same time, I. V. Strakhov in his works pointed out many directions of modern research on the theoretical and practical problems of social psychology of education and development, whose significance has not yet been fully studied and professionally implemented.
The main objectives of the upcoming conference are related to identification of the retrospectives and prospects for the development of Saratov psychological school, popularization of scientific heritage of Saratov psychological school founder, involvement of new generations of researchers in the investigation of scientific problems in the areas outlined by I. V. Strakhov and V. I. Strakhov.
The discussion of the following topical issues will allow to identify the main trends and promising directions of research that meet modern requirements of the education system, society and science: positive psychology of an individual and group in the problem field of psychology, personal subjective well-being, quality of life, social psychology and acmeology; positive psychology in education; psychology of literary activities; health psychology: phenomenon of psychological health; psychological and methodological issues of sports and physical education; psychological and pedagogical foundations of planning a lesson in a modern school; pedagogical tact issues in terms of teacher's professional standard.

It is planned to hold a competition of student research papers "Strakhov Readings - 2019: Positive Psychology of an Individual and Group Level" within the framework of the conference. The purpose of the competition is to create conditions for the development of scientific initiative of youth, to update the methodological provisions of the Strakhov School and its importance for fundamental knowledge. Young researchers are invited to participate in the competition (students of Bachelor's, Master's, and Post Graduate degree programs).
Addressing scientific work of Professor I. V. Strakhov will reveal the connection of his legacy with the topical issues of modern psychological science and practice, thus opening up new dimensions of his work.
