Abstract: this article discusses the ways of introducing progressive technologies for drilling water wells in the conditions of the Sam field located in the western part of Kazakhstan. Based on the results of an assessment of the ways to introduce advanced technologies for drilling water wells in the conditions of the Sam field, it was determined that a sharp increase in the use of groundwater resources of the Sam field will ensure their maximum flow rate at high quality and at the lowest cost.

Keywords: underground water, borehole, well flow rate, water withdrawal, airlift method.

Water resources play a crucial role in the economy of any country. Groundwater extracted from drilling wells is an important resource, although in the end their source is also climatic precipitation. A feature of groundwater is the fact that, passing through the pores of deep-lying aquifers, they are filtered and, as a result, usually differ in significantly higher consumer properties. The problem of the development and protection of the underground waters of the Planet Earth is in the focus of attention of special UNPO organizations [1]

On the territory of the Mangystau peninsula, where large hydrocarbon deposits are concentrated, there is a difficult situation with water supply. There are practically no surface waters here. Since the sixties, exploration work has been carried out here, which made it possible to discover a number of underground water deposits suitable for development [2].

A typical deposit is the Samskoye deposit. It has a total area of 1500 km2 and is composed of quaternary deposits of the North Ustyurt trough. Water-containing formations have the form of lenses of various shapes and sizes. They are represented by fine-grained sands with small admixtures of medium and fine-grained sands.

The field has been in operation since 1970. A number of wells have been drilled, mainly manually, as well as with UGB-50 drilling rigs. These wells are characterized by a low flow rate; their depth does not exceed 50 m, and their diameter is 150 mm

According to the latest reporting [3], the total water intake does not exceed 18% of the explored resources. At the same time, the problem of water supply to the city is still acute.

Ways to introduce advanced technologies for drilling water intake wells in the conditions of the Samskoye field:

1. To investigate the geological features of the Samskoye groundwater deposit; from the point of view of its development by drilling wells;

2. To analyze the effectiveness of classical methods of construction of water intake wells;

3. Consider the features of drilling large-diameter wells with backwash;

4. To justify the expediency of using large-diameter wells in the conditions of the Samskoye field.

Based on the results of the assessment of ways to introduce advanced technologies for drilling water intake wells in the conditions of the Samskoye field, it was determined that a sharp increase in the use of groundwater resources of the Samskoye field would ensure their maximum flow rate with high quality and the lowest costs.
