THE ROLE OF THE HOTEL INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD ECONOMY

The hotel industry is a sector of business that revolves around providing accommodations for travelers. Success in this industry relies on catering to the needs of the targeted clientele, creating a desirable atmosphere, and providing a wide variety of services and amenities. The foundation of the hotel industry is, of course, the business of providing lodging. Travelers depend on hotels to supply a secure, pleasant place for a temporary stay.

Quality is perhaps the most variable feature of the hotel industry. Modest hotels charge minimal fees and provide only the most essential amenities, whereas luxury hotels geared toward wealthy travelers can be extremely expensive. The most basic hotels might offer small, one-bedroom units, but pricier hotels come equipped with vast suites. Both extremes on this spectrum have clients, a fact which serves to emphasize the massive reach of the hotel industry. As long as the rooms are filled and the customers receive the services they anticipate, a hotel, no matter how big, small, affordable or luxurious, can consider itself successful.

Many hotels have in-house bars and restaurants that require their own staff. A critically acclaimed restaurant can earn money for a hotel even if its patrons are not room-renting guests. It is also common for hotels to have pools, fitness facilities, or activity centers available for guests seeking recreation. Some companies even offer valet and laundering services, Internet access, and child care.

Featuring all of these additional perks is a two-fold strategy within the hotel industry. The convenience or luxury of special amenities makes a hotel seem more appealing to guests, and by including them the management is hoping to make their location appear superior to competitors. Also, by providing a wide variety of services in-house, the hotel management stands to benefit financially. Hotels are certainly necessary all over the world, wherever there are travelers who need lodging.

Hostel

The hostel industry is growing rapidly in many cities around the world,

because travelers need a cheap accommodation during their trips and holidays. A social and economic efficiency of hostels activity shows that this type of hotel industry is perspective. This is reflected in the development and expansion of tens of hostel chains worldwide.

Hostel is a type of accommodation for travelers who prefer to spend their holidays more economically and to get acquainted with people from other countries. More often hostels are chosen by young people and students.

The first hostel has been created by the school teacher Richard Schirmann in 1909 in Germany. He has equipped it for poor pupils at school at which he worked. In 1912 the first hostel had moved to Alten's Castle where it is still exists. Originally, hostels were popular in Europe, gradually they had spread around the world.

Nowadays traditional hostels offer a bed in the mixed room for 6-12 persons. More expensive rooms can be for women, for men and private. Also hostel offers a common bathroom, lounge, and sometimes a kitchen. Some hostels enter a curfew, because people can disturb sleep of their neighbors. In attempts to attract more visitors many hostels provide additional services such as airport transfers, internet, swimming pools and SPA, tour booking and car rentals. Some hostels may include a hot meal in the price.

Nowadays there are different types of hostels. "Boutique hostel" an often marketing term used to describe luxurious hostel facilities. The term has started to lose meaning because the facilities of many "boutique hostels" are often no different from traditional hostels. Also marketers and online booking websites sometimes include boutique hotels in lists of "boutique hostels" further diluting any specific meaning of the term. A mobile hostel is a hostel with no fixed location. It can exist in the form of a camp, a temporary building, bus or van. Mobile hostels have sprouted up at large festivals where there exists a shortage of cheap accommodation. The first ever commercial example of a mobile hostel is Hostival. It has sprouted up at Oktoberfest, Carnival, San Fermin, Las Fallas, and the 2010 World Cup.

Most important advantages of hostels there are low prices of accommodation and other additional services and also communication with people from different countries. But in hostels thefts and noisy neighbors are possible which are the main disadvantages of this type of accommodation.

All-inclusive resort

Nowadays there are a lot of types of accommodation in the world, such as hotels, hostels, all inclusive resort, motel and so on. Today the most popular type of accommodation is all-inclusive resort.

An all-inclusive resort is a holiday resort that includes a minimum lodging, three meals daily, soft drinks, most alcoholic drinks, gratuities, and possibly other services in the price. Many also offer sports and non-motorized watersports and other activities that are included in the price as well. They are often located in warmer regions of the world, particularly in the Caribbean. The all-inclusive model originated in the French Club Med resorts, which were founded by the

Belgian Gerar Blitz in 1950.

There are many advantages of the all-inclusive resort, for example on the territory of such hotels is practically all you need to relax: fitness centers, tennis courts, spas, swimming pools, several restaurants and cafe. What is more there are a lot of food, everything is very delicious and people can absorb food without restrictions. Also all-inclusive resort hotel has its own beach. The next plus is entertainment non-stop. Good animators also involve the willing and reluctant guests in the fun and games. During the day there are a lot of variety of games and competitions on the beach and near the pool and in the evening - entertainment program for adults and children. Another advantage is safety. All-inclusive resort hotels is very safe enough than another type of accommodation. A big plus of the all-inclusive resort is infrastructure. And the last plus of all-inclusive resort is saving. Holidays on an "all inclusive" costs are usually more cheaper than a similar class hotel with self-catering and entertainment.

On the other hand there is the main disadvantage of this type of accommodation is that the person can not get to know peculiarities of the country, its people and culture.

An all-inclusive resort, in addition to all the amenities of a resort, charges a fixed price that includes most or all items offered. At a minimum, most inclusive resorts include lodging, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food (three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or open bar), non-motorized watersports activities, and entertainment for a fixed price.

An all- inclusive resort is a popular type of accommodation that is still growing rapidly. No matter what type of accommodation would be chosen by guests, the final result should be a satisfied customer who remembers his trip and his holiday with pleasure.
