The transition towards a green economy, characterized by sustainability and environmental responsibility, necessitates a fundamental shift in energy production. This paper explores the crucial role of renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power, in this transition. It analyzes the environmental benefits of utilizing renewable energy, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. THE ROLE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THE TRANSITION TO

GREEN ECONOMY

Abstract: The transition towards a green economy, characterized by sustainability and environmental responsibility, necessitates a fundamental shift in energy production. This paper explores the crucial role of renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power, in this transition. It analyzes the environmental benefits of utilizing renewable energy, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. Additionally, the paper examines the economic advantages associated with renewable energy, such as job creation, diversification of energy sources, and decreased dependence on fossil fuels. The exploration extends to the social implications of a green economy fueled by renewables, including improved public health and energy security.

Fossil fuels, the cornerstone of the current energy paradigm, are the primary culprits behind climate change, spewing harmful greenhouse gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere. smoother transition. Public awareness campaigns that highlight the environmental and economic benefits of renewables are crucial in garnering support for this transition. Educational initiatives can foster a culture of sustainability and encourage responsible energy consumption patterns.

Investments in next-generation technologies, such as ocean energy and biofuels, can further diversify the renewable energy portfolio.

• Grid Modernization: Integrating a significant amount of renewable energy into existing grids necessitates upgrades and modernization efforts. Smart

grid technologies that can manage the intermittent nature of some renewables and optimize energy distribution are essential.

• Policy and Regulatory Frameworks: Supportive policy frameworks are crucial for incentivizing investment in renewables and creating a stable regulatory environment for businesses operating in the green sector. This includes policies like feed-in tariffs that encourage individuals and businesses to generate their own renewable energy and sell excess power back to the grid. Аннотация: Переход к зеленой экономике, характеризующейся устойчивостью и экологической ответственностью, требует фундаментального изменения в производстве энергии. В этой статье исследуется решающая роль возобновляемых источников энергии, таких как солнечная, ветровая, гидро- и геотермальная энергия, в этом переходном процессе. В нем анализируются экологические преимущества использования возобновляемых источников энергии, включая сокращение выбросов парниковых газов и загрязнения воздуха. Кроме того, в документе рассматриваются экономические преимущества, связанные с возобновляемыми источниками энергии, такие как создание рабочих мест, диверсификация источников энергии и снижение зависимости от ископаемого топлива.
