There are some sentences that, even from the past, still have their meaning and are still usable. These sentences are very different from ordinary sentences. They are sentences arising from the results of events or situations encountered in the past. If a more detailed explanation is required; They are sentences that show past thoughts, results of events, and advice given at the appropriate time, and are in the form of a template. This definition is the definition of the proverb. Proverbs are important and necessary. This is because proverbs reflect people. Proverbs are very diverse. It can be used in any event or situation we live in. The fact that it comes from the past to the present and that it will continue from today to tomorrow is an indication that proverbs continue from generation to generation.

Structure of the Proverbs

Proverbs are known for being short. It is usually seen as a sentence or two. This is the difference from other articles. It shortly contains meaning. Generally, sentences made with concrete things contain abstract meanings. When the meaning of the proverb is unknown, it can sound meaningless. Proverbs are not intentionally changed. That it has this structure is the reason why it is a proverb. Of course, we can talk about proverbs that have changed some words from the past to the present. Some proverbs may be national, and some proverbs may be universal. Proverbs with these meanings are universal, as friendship, hate, and love mean the same everywhere and in every nation. Proverbs used by nations may be similar.

The meanings of the proverbs are unique. This feature is indispensable for proverbs. Proverbs can tell you how to behave in a situation as well as giving things from the past. For this reason, sometimes it is better to use proverbs than to explain things at length.

Where Did These Proverbs Come From?

We know that proverbs even come from ancient times. The first proverbs found in writing were found in Mesopotamia. The words written on the tablets found there carry the value of the first proverbs. The Sumerians used their proverbs for education. When we look at today, it may be possible to talk about the similarity of these sentences used in those days with the proverbs used today.

Well Known Proverbs and Their Meanings

Laughter is the best medicine. It feels better to laugh instead of thinking about bad things. It is necessary to think positively.

Learn to walk before you run. Instead of dealing with a difficult situation suddenly, you have to deal with easier things. To deal with difficult situations, you must first know the simple.

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Nothing happens just by talking, without giving a lot of effort. If something were true just by saying it, anyone could get anything they wanted.

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Only stupid people with no experience act without thinking. They go after events or things that are specific, without thinking. However, the knowledgeable person acts by thinking at such times.

Don't judge a book by its cover. You cannot have an idea by looking at the external appearance. Books with good covers may turn out to be bad. It can be beautiful that looks bad on the outside. It is necessary to go beyond appearance.

Better late than never. Never getting something you wanted so much? Or getting it late? It is better to have something late than to never have something you so desperately want.

An empty vessel makes much noise. People who do not know what they are saying, who do not know anything talk a lot. Stupid people are the people who talk the most.

A drowning man will clutch at a straw. If a person gets into a difficult situation, they will do everything in their power and try all the ways to correct it.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. It is difficult to break someone out of their habits. People who have been doing things the same way for a long time will not change from now on.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. To finish a job or situation, one must first start. Big things always begin with small steps.

Abstract: traditionally Shakespeare play types are categorised as Comedy, History, Roman and Tragedy, with some additional categories proposed over the years. Shakespeare comedies (or rather the plays of Shakespeare that are usually categorised as comedies) are generally identifiable as plays full offun, irony and dazzling wordplay. They also abound in disguises and mistaken identities, with very convoluted plots that are difficult to follow with very contrived endings.

Any attempt at describing Shakespeare's comedy plays as a cohesive group can't go beyond that superficial outline. The highly contrived endings of most Shakespeare comedies are the clue to what these plays - all very different - are about.

Take The Merchant of Venice for example - it has the love and relationship element. As is often the case, there are two couples. One of the women is disguised as a man through most of the text - typical of Shakespearean comedy - but the other is in a very unpleasant situation - a
