In today's world, communication on the Internet has become an integral part of life not only for the population of Russia, but also for people of all ages and social levels in other countries. A language, which word count has expanded to such an extent that a new dictionary could very well be compiled, drives communication on the Internet. Many expressions have acquired an independent meaning, firmly rooted in the turns of Russian speech. For example, the popular word "google" or "to google" has long since ceased to refer to a search engine, but exists separately and denotes the action of searching for something [1].

Scholars have long raised the possibility and expediency of the continued existence of the Russian language on the Internet. Many researchers believe that the Russian language is capable of self-organization, like any living organism. Those who advocate saving Russian speech and those who believe that changing language norms is an irreversible process are right. There is no doubt that the Russian language is a system subject to strict rules and laws, but on the other hand, it is not just a mundane collection of words and grammatical rules. These patterns can easily be broken if done on a regular basis [2]. Moreover, the virtual world of Internet communication networks is a perfect breeding ground for the gradual degradation of the Russian language and speech culture.

It is reasonable to ask why the world of the Internet is so appealing to most people, especially young people. The answer is obvious. Because it forms a virtual world, in which a person, wearing a mask and hiding his or her identity, feels protected. We use one type of business communication "mask contact" and it seems to us to be as comfortable and effective as possible.

This is because the mask greatly facilitates such interpersonal communication processes, helping to open up more quickly and overcome psychological barriers. Communication in social networks, messengers, forums and online games gives participants in the process opportunities for self-expression and creativity [3]. Since one hides one's true self, there is no constant human-to-human contact, so it is easier to relieve oneself of the burden of further communication. This is what adolescents who have an unformed worldview and informal worldview achieve.

Communication on the Internet requires a certain set of language tools. Therefore, the Russian language on the Internet is being transformed and is becoming commonly used. New means of linguistic communication are emerging, capable of replacing old words and expressions. A striking example is slang. It has long become common because of the strong influence of the Internet on people. The purpose and the main feature of slang is a deliberate violation of spelling norms, distortion of existing expressions and words.

Young people often use slang in their speech. Slang is a set of words or a set of new meanings of already existing words used by different groups of people. Due to the widespread use of information technology, the ubiquity of computers and technology, IT professionalisms have begun to infiltrate the slang of young people.

The reason is psychological underdevel-opment of young generation that wants to stand out and cut itself off from the old ways, from adult culture. Thus, by distorting expressions of words, they divide society into "insiders" and "outsiders", into "moderns" and "old-schools".

The specific epistolary genre is another linguistic Internet medium that has emerged through virtual correspondence and online communication. Internet communication is based on typed texts. They are formed when there is not much time to think about the rules of spelling and simply out of a reluctance to do so. It is the speed of communication, not its form that matters. That is why written virtual speech is interlinked with Russian colloquial speech. A person's personality in virtual reality is tantamount to the text she is typing. Therefore, in today's reality, there is a noticeable fusion of written and spoken text. For example, so-called "smiley faces" or stretched words ("neeeeet", "priveeeet") now serve as substitutes for intonational constructions [4].

Thus, we can conclude that the Internet is a supplement to other spheres where Russian functions. The main feature is its colloquial style, which has become ubiquitous in our lives. The trend towards shorter colloquialisms and a certain democratization finds its application even in online business writing, which eases the official standards of outdated writing and saves time. Thanks to the fusion of business style and colloquialism taken from social media, online communication inspires confidence in the statement, which is important when conducting business negotiations.

Because of the liberation of the individual in the process of correspondence on the Inter-

net, a so-called creative process takes place, which generates new linguistic norms and an unconventional attitude to language as a form of expression and expression of one's abilities [5].

Nevertheless, as everywhere else, there is another side to the coin, proving the true degradation of language literacy in the population. After all, if you think about it, it becomes clear that it is in spontaneous expressions that grammar and spelling skills are practiced. On the Internet, all speech is recorded in writing, so mistakes are immediately visible. Thus, all individual speech errors are exposed for all to see and show a person's level of literacy.

The use of Internet communication in the colloquial vocabulary indicates a general simplification of the nature of communication; it breaks down the boundaries of personal and status types of communication. Does the Internet affect people and their inner world? If we focus on the younger generation, the answer is unequivocally positive. For example, if a person makes grave mistakes in writing while communicating in the Internet, this unequivocally indicates his illiteracy and in this case, we cannot speak about any influence of the Internet on the level of his literacy. Long-lasting correspondence in social networks, forums, video games leads to the fact that a person, growing up and not reading classical literature, remains hopelessly illiterate and no attempts to express his creativity will help him.

Thus, the only way out and opportunity to change the situation with the detrimental influence of Internet communications on the Russian language and the culture of speech is the individual himself, who should not allow his native language to be destroyed. His aim is to bring his native language to future generations in its original form.

It is important to remember that the Internet does not intend to change language norms itself; it simply forces us to take all the changes in Russian for granted.
