КОНЦЕПТА «ПОРОК» В СОВРЕМЕННОМ АНГЛИЙСКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ

Vice is an exclusively human quality, which considerably differentiates people from animals. Vice in its nature is prone to evil, as well as virtue is prone to good. Excessive predisposition to vice and vicious lifestyle leads to specific distortion of moral and ethic qualities of the individual, which directly influences the perception of reality, adequate interpretation of events, ability to overcome challenges and, more often than not, making the right decision. The concept "vice " is a significant component of the human language picture of the world and it is characterized by various psychological and social cultural features. Therefore, we believe it necessary to investigate verbalization of the concept "vice " in Modern English. This article contains the main results of the investigation, the purpose of which is to reveal and analyze the systemic language means representing the concept "vice " in Modern English. Cognitive features of the concept under study are identified, language means representing the concept "vice" are systematized, lexical semantic field representing the concept "vice " in Mordern English is modeled in the article.

Национальная языковая картина мира определяется как частичная проекция концептосферы, представляющая в вербальной форме отдельные ее фрагменты; в то время как непосредственно сама концептосфера - это область мыслительных образов, единиц универсально-предметного кода, представляющих собой структурированное знание людей. Концептосфера носит достаточно упорядоченный характер. Концепты, образующие концептосфе-ру, по отдельным своим признакам вступают в системные отношения сходства, различия и иерархии с другими концептами [3, c. 30].
Современные когнитивно-ориентированные лингвистические исследования направлены на выявление общих принципов языковой категоризации окружающего мира, которое становится возможным благодаря установлению речемыслительных механизмов.
Концепт «порок» является значимым компонентом языковой картины мира человека и характеризуется психологическими и социокультурными измерениями. Порок является сугубо человеческим свойством, существенно отделяющим человека от животного мира. Порок, по своей природе, имеет предрасположенность к злу, ровно также как добродетель - предрасположенность к добру. Чрезмерная предрасположенность к пороку и порочному образу жизни приводит к специфическому искажению моральных и нравственных качеств индивида, что непосредственно сказывается на характере восприятия действительности, верной интерпретации событий, способности к преодолению жизненных трудностей и, зачастую, нахождению верного решения.
Несмотря на многосторонний характер данного явления и информативную насыщенность знаний о нем, по своей природе порок не может иметь конкретного определения, так как является выражением сугубо субъективного отношения индивида к нормам поведения, морали и законам, устоявшимся в конкретном обществе, в конкретный промежуток времени. Исходя из этого, порок можно определить как структурно-смысловой объект сознания, особенностью которого является единство социокультурного, индивидуального и этнокультурного опыта говорящего.
Концепт «порок» является универсальным, то есть представлен во многих странах и культурах, а, следовательно, и в языках. Данный феномен в полной мере свойственен и английской лингвокультуре и получает яркое отображение в языке. Рассмотрим систему языковых средств, репрезентирующих концепт «порок» в английском языке.
Ключевой лексемой исследуемого концепта в современном английском языке является лексема vice. В лексикографических источниках представлены различные толкования данной лексемы. Так, словарь Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [25] трактует лексему vice следующим образом: 1) criminal activities; 2) a bad habit; 3) a bad or immoral quality in a person, or bad or immoral behaviour.
В словаре Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [24] приведены следующие определения исследуемой лексемы: 1) a habit which is regarded as a weakness in someone's character, but not usually as a serious fault;
2) refers to criminal activities; 3) a tool with a pair of parts that hold an object tightly while you do work on it; 4) an immoral, wicked, or evil habit, action, or trait; 5) any physical defect or imperfection.
Словарь Oxford English Dictionary [26] определяет лексему vice следующим образом: 1) immoral or wicked behaviour; 2) criminal activities; 3) an immoral or wicked personal characteristic; 4) a weakness of character or behaviour; a bad habit; 5) a bad or neurotic habit of stabled horses, typically arising as a result of boredom.
Словарь Wordsmyth: Free On-line English Dictionary-Thesaurus [28] трактует лексему vice следующим образом: 1) an immoral or evil act; 2) wickedness;
3) variant of vise; 4) acting in place of; deputy.
Исходя из изложенного выше, можно сделать вывод о том, что концепт «порок» включает в себя пять основных компонентов значения лексемы vice, а именно: 1) грех (sin); 2) зло (evil); 3) безнравственность (immorality);
4) недостаток (failing); 5) дефект (defect).
Проанализируем синонимическое расширение ключевого слова vice, представленное семой sin. В структуре значения слова sin можно выделить следующие семы, представленные в таких лексикографических источниках как Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [22], Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [21] , Oxford English Dictionary [23]: 1) an action that is against religious rules and is considered to be an offence against God; 2) an action or type of behaviour which is believed to break the laws of God ; 3) an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law; 4) an act regarded as a serious or regrettable fault, offence, or omission.
Все три значения дают большой объем информации, относящийся к концепту «порок». Здесь выражено представление о грехе как о моральном зле, состоящем в нарушении словом, действием или мыслью закона, моральных норм или воли Бога.
Словари Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [18], Oxford English Dictionary [19], Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [17] трактуют лексему immorality следующим образом: 1)morally
wrong; 2) lack of morality; 3) the state or quality of being immoral; wickedness; 4) an immoral act or practice; 5) immoral behavior; 6) the quality, character, or state of being immoral.
В данном случае лексема immorality вербализует концепт «порок» в значении поступка или действия, совершенного вопреки нормам морали.
Словари Oxford English Dictionary [15], Wordsmyth: Free On-line English Dictionary-Thesaurus [16], Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [14] и Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [13] дают следующие определения понятию failing: 1) a weakness, especially in a person's character; a shortcoming; 2) a weakness or shortcoming in a person or thing; 3) a fault or weakness; 4) unsatisfactory features.
Данные семы содержат значение отрицательных черт характера / поведения человека, совершающего предосудительные поступки по отношению к государству / обществу.
Словари Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [6], Oxford English Dictionary [7], Wordsmyth: Free On-line English Dictionary-Thesaurus [8] и Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [5] трактуют лексему defect следующим образом: 1) a fault or a lack of something that means that something or someone is not perfect; 2) A shortcoming, imperfection, or lack; 3) a flaw, error, or other imperfection; 4) a lack of something needed for adequacy, completeness, or perfection; shortcoming; deficiency; 5) a fault or imperfection in a person or thing; 6) a lack of something necessary for completeness or perfection; shortcoming; deficiency; 7) a flaw, error, or other imperfection; 8) an imperfection, failing, or blemish.
Данная лексема представляет значение неисправности, недочета, несовершенства личности человека.
Рассмотрим семы, составляющие значение слова evil, представленные в словарях Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English [10], Oxford English Dictionary [11], Wordsmyth: Free On-line English Dictionary-Thesaurus [12] и Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's English Dictionary [9]: 1) a spiritually or morally corrupt and destructive force; absence of good; 2) immoral behavior; 3) a force, condition, or activity that causes suffering or destruction; 4) а manifestation of profound immorality and wickedness, especially in people's actions; 5) something which is harmful or undesirable; 6) cruel or morally bad behavior in general.
На основании анализа приведенных выше сем можно сделать вывод о том, что слово evil вербализует концепт «порок» в значении «беззаконие», «порочность», «вредоносность», «распущенность». Также данная лексема представляет исследуемый концепт в значении нарушения общепринятых в обществе норм поведения и морали, вследствие чего происходит разрушение общества и индивида.
Во всех пяти лексемах, а именно evil, defect, failing, immorality, sin, наиболее часто встречаются семы act, fault, character, harm, immorality. Таким образом, на основании результатов проведенного нами анализа словарных дефиниций мы можем выделить следующие когнитивные признаки концепта «порок» в современном английском языке: 1) поступок, поведение; 2) вина; 3) характер; 4) проявление; 5) несовершенство; 7) дефект; 8) недостаток; 9) аморальность; 10) причинение вреда; 11) вредоносность; 12) вред, ущерб.
Для большей ясности и наглядности исследования с помощью метода анализа словарных дефиниций, нами был проведен анализ синонимов лексемы vice на материале словаря Oxford English Thesaurus [27], в результате которого мы выявили ряд единиц с коннотацией «порок», а именно: grip, defect, depravity, debauchery, weakness, failing, shortcoming, demerit, lack, evil-doing, evil, vise, alternate, badness, immorality, wrongdoing, wrong, iniquity, villainy, venality, impurity, misconduct, flaw, fault, weak point, imperfection, blemish, foible.
Как справедливо отмечает Н.Ф. Алефиренко, наиболее распространенными средствами вербализации концепта являются слово, фразеологизм, словосочетание, структурную схему предложения и даже текст, «если в нем раскрывается сущность какого-либо концепта» [1, с. 8]. Поэтому мы считаем необходимым проанализировать единицы фразеологического уровня, вербализующие концепт «порок» в современном английском языке.
Для анализа мы обратились к Большому англо-русскому фразеологическому словарю Д.В. Кунина [4] и словарю Longman Idioms Dictionary [20, p. 57], в которых представлены следующие фразеологические единицы: 1) organized vice; 2) den of iniquity / vice; 3) to steep in vice; 4) vice ring; 5) inherent vice damage; 6) to wallow in vice; 7) fit and free from vice; 8) commercialized vice; 9) to defect to the enemy; 10) latent defect; 11) depravity of man; 12) total depravity; 13) debauchery of youth; 14) to turn to debauchery; 15) indulge in debauchery; 16) to indulge in debauchery; 17) failing to prove; 18) make good

Результаты проведенного нами анализа словарных дефиниций, аналогичных лексем, фразеологических единиц позволили нам смоделировать структуру репрезентации концепта «порок» в современном английском языке следующим образом.
Ядро лексико-семантического поля исследуемого концепта, определяется ключевой лексемой vice и ее производными vicious и viciousness.
Околоядерная зона представлена следующими лексемами: evil, evil-minded, evildoer, fault, faultily, sin, immorality, defect, defective, defector, defection, failing evil-doing, sinfulness, harm, harmful, immoral, immortalize, weak, weakness.
Зону ближней периферии составляют аналогичные лексемы, такие как: grip, defect, depravity, debauchery, iniquity, assistant, alternate, badness, wrongdoing, wrong, villainy, venality, impurity, mistake, misconduct, flaw, weak point, imperfection, blemish, foible, shortcoming, demerit, lack, act, character, ungodliness, turpitude, degeneracy, baseness, perversion, atrocity, malevolence, devilish-ness, obscenity, outrage, enormity, monstrosity, barbarity, pain, hurt, misery, miserably, sorrow, suffering, trauma, trouble, disaster, detriment, destruction, loss, misfortune, catastrophe, calamity, affliction, woe, ruin, hardship, deficiency, weak spot, fallibility, frailty, infirmity, inadequacy, limitation, snag, liability, culpability,

Таким образом, мы проанализировали языковые средства репрезентации концепта «порок» в системе современного английского языка, выявили когнитивные признаки данного концепта, а также смоделировали структуру соответствующего лексико-семантического поля, вербализующего исследуемый концепт в современном английском языке. Проведенное нами исследование доказывает, что концепт «порок» обладает набором базовых когнитивных признаков, таких как криминальный род деятельности, плохая привычка, плохое или аморальное качество человека, аморальное поведение, слабость характера человека, обладает определенной семантической структурой в современном английском языке, которая следует ядерно-периферийной модели, в полной мере характерен для английской лингвокультуры и широко представлен в данном языке.
