софии и истории Вологодского института права и экономики Федеральной службы исполнения наказаний А.Л. Кузьминых. Александр Леонидович - автор и соавтор более двухсот научных и научно-популярных работ по истории военного плена периода Второй мировой войны, органов внутренних дел и уголовно-исполнительной системы советского государства. Новая монография ученого вышла в 2017 году в издательстве «РОССПЭН» в серии «История сталинизма».

Данная книга стала обобщающим трудом автора по истории лагерной системы Главного управления по делам военнопленных и интернированных НКВД-МВД СССР на Европейском Севере России с 1939 по 1949 годы. Во введении автором подробно проанализирована отечественная и зарубежная историография советского плена Второй мировой войны, показан вклад вологод-

ских историков, в первую очередь, А.С Бланка и В.Б. Конасова в изучение судеб иностранных военнопленных в СССР.

В основу книги положены документы 10 центральных и местных архивов, в том числе Государственного архива Российской Федерации, Российского государственного военного архива, Военно-медицинского музея Министерства обороны РФ, Государственного архива Архангельской области, Государственного архива Вологодской области, архива Управления Министерства внутренних дел Российской Федерации по Архангельской области, архива Управления Министерства внутренних дел Российской Федерации по Вологодской области, Вологодского областного архива новейшей политической истории, архива Управления Федеральной службы безопасности Российской Федерации по Вологодской области, Вологодского государственного историко-архитектурного и художественного музея заповедника.

Ценными источниками при подготовке книги стали материалы личного происхождения: письма, рисунки, а также воспоминания бывших военнопленных и сотрудников лагерей. В ходе исследования автор активно обращался к периодической печати военного времени. В книге представлен богатый иллюстративный материал: карты и схемы дислокации лагерей и захоронений военнопленных и интернированных, фотографии из архивных и музейных фондов, а также личного архива бывшего военнопленного лагеря № 150 Гюнтера Шлёце-ра.

Структура книги включает пять глав. В первой главе изучено правовое регулирование режима военного плена с древнейших времен до современности, охарактеризовано советское законодательство в области военного плена и показаны особенности его реализации в условиях Европейского Севера СССР. Во второй главе рассмотрен процесс формирования и функционирования органов и учреждений военного плена и интернирования на Европейском Севере в годы Второй мировой войны и после ее завершения.

В третьей главе проанализирована организация жизнеобеспечения и трудового использования военнопленных на Европейском Севере СССР. В частности, показаны влияние климатического фактора на положение «узников войны», формирование лагерной инфраструктуры, организация режима и охраны, продовольственное и вещевое обеспечение, деятельность подсобных хозяйств, вклад военнопленных и интернированных в развитие экономики региона, медико-санитарное обслуживание и смертность лагерного контингента.

Четвертая глава раскрывает особенности существования лагерного социума: психологию военнопленных и феномен лагерной культуры, политическую и культурно-массовую работу, оперативно-следственные мероприятия и судебные процессы над военнопленными, взаимоотношения пленных с лагерным персоналом и местным населением, репатриацию военнопленных и их реинте-

грацию в послевоенное общество. Наконец, пятая глава посвящена захоронениям иностранных военнопленных на Европейском Севере России. К тексту прилагаются более 70 таблиц, в которых представлен обширный статистический материал по различным аспектам исследования.

На презентации присутствовали преподаватели, студенты и курсанты вузов города Вологды, краеведы и журналисты, а также вологжане, интересующиеся историей Второй мировой войны и ее последствиями. В заключительной части презентации автор монографии ответил на вопросы присутствующих, а также поделился своими планами о перспективах дальнейшего изучения истории советского плена и интернирования.

On 5 June 2018, the presentation of the book 'The GUPVI Archipelago in the European North of the USSR (1939-1949)' by A.L. Kuzminykh, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Philosophy and History Department of the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics, Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia took place at the Vologda Regional Universal Scientific Library. Alexander Leonidovich is the author and the co-author of more than two hundred scientific and popular scientific works on the history of military captivity during World War II, internal affairs agencies and the correctional system of the Soviet state. A new monograph by the scientist was published in 2017 in the 'History of Stalinism' series of ROSSPEN Publishing House.

This book has become the author's general work on the history of the camp system of the Main Administration for Affairs of Prisoners of War and Internees (GUPVI) of the NKVD-MIA of the USSR in the European North of Russia from 1939 to 1949. In the introduction, the author analyzed in detail the national and foreign historiography of the Soviet captivity during World War II and showed the contribution of the Vologda historians, A.S. Blank and V.B. Konasov, first and foremost, in the study of the fate of foreign prisoners of war in the USSR.

The book is based on the documents from ten central and local archives, including the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Military Archive, the Military Medical Museum of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the State Archive of Arkhangelsk Region, the State Archives of Vologda Region, the Archives of the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Arkhangelsk region, the Archives of the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Vologda region, the Vologda Regional Archives of the contemporary political history, the Archives of the Administration of

the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Vologda Region, the Vologda State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum and Reserve.

Valuable sources in the preparation of the book were some personal materials: letters, drawings, as well as memories of former prisoners of war and camp staff. During the study, the author actively appealed to the periodical press of the wartime. The book contains a rich illustrative material: maps and diagrams of the dislocation of camps and graves of prisoners of war and internees, photographs from archival and museum funds, as well as the personal archive of former prisoner of war of camp No. 150 Günther Schlözer.

The structure of the book includes five chapters. In the first chapter, the legal regulation of the military captivity regime from ancient times to the present has been studied, the Soviet legislation in the field of military captivity has been described and

the features of its implementation under the conditions of the European North of the USSR have been shown. The second chapter examines the process of formation and functioning of bodies and institutions of military captivity and internment in the European North during and after World War II.

The third chapter analyzes the maintenance of life and employment of prisoners of war in the European North of the USSR. It shows influence of the climate factor on the situation with the prisoners of war, formation of the camp infrastructure, organization of the regime and protection, food and clothing supplies, activities of subsidiary farms, contribution of prisoners of war and internees to the development of the region's economy, health services and mortality among the camp population.

The fourth chapter reveals the peculiarities of existence of the camp community: psychology of prisoners of war and the phenomenon of camp culture, political and cultural work, operational and investigative measures and trials in relation to the prisoners of war, the relations of prisoners with the camp staff and the local population, the repatriation of prisoners of war and their reintegration into the post-war society. Finally, the fifth chapter is devoted to the burial of foreign prisoners of war in the European North of Russia. The text is supplemented by more than 70 tables, which provide extensive statistical material on various aspects of the study.

The presentation was attended by teachers, students and cadets of the universities in Vologda, local historians and journalists, as well as Vologda citizens interested in the history of World War II and its consequences. In the final part of the presentation, the author of the monograph answered the questions of those present and shared his plans study regarding the history of the Soviet captivity and internment.
