Vladimir Region is a part of Central Federal District of Russia and located in the central part of the East European Plain. Area of the region is 29 000 km2. The territory of Vladimir Region belongs to Volga River basin and situated in Volga - Oka Rivers divide in the Boreo-Nemoral zone. In past the region was covered by mixed coniferous-broad-leaved forests that now mainly replaced by secondary parvifoliate forests and agriculture landscapes (Fig. 1). Degree of forest coverage is 50.7% of area. Climate is temperate continental with warm summer, moderately cold winter and pronouced transitional seasons.

Herpetofauna is typical for the Boreal part of European Russia and characterized by low number of species and includes 11 amphibian and 7 reptile species (Bannikov et al., 1977; Gasc etal., 1997;Ananje-va et al., 1998; Kuzmin, 2013). Meanwhile this territory is still white spot on the herpetologial map of Russia and detailed information on the distribution and ecology is absent (Gasc et al., 1997; Kuzmin, 2013). Special regional herpetological studies with mapping of records have never been conducted.

Recent publications on Vladimir Region herpetofauna contain only previous data on species distribution (Murgraph et al., 2002) including the list of herpetological collections stored in the Vladimir - Suzdal Museum-Reserve (Dudenkov, 2011), and some biological data ofPelobatesfuscus (Krassavtzev, 1939), La-

certa agilis (Sand Lizard, 1976; Ruchin, Ryzhov, 2008) and Vipera berus (Krassavtzev, 1932; Solo-vyov etal., 2016).

Our field investigations were realized in Pe-tushki, Yuryev-Polsky, Sobinka, Suzdal, Sudogda, Gus-Khrustalny, Kameshkovo, Kovrov, Vyazniki, Se-livanovo, Gorokhovets, Murom, Melenki Districts and Vladimir City during the period of 2007 - 2018. As result of this work we collected a new data of distri-

bution including 198 new records of 10 species of amphibians and 6 species of reptiles for Vladimir Region (Fig. 2-13). Moreover we listed several important records out of the borders of region. Maps with new records are given only for species with limited or sporadic distribution in Vladimir Region (Fig. 14-17).

Rare patternless abberation (var. concolor) in juvenile and mature individuals of Lacerta agilis was registered in the Murom and Gorokhovets Districts. According our observations the melanistic indivi-

duals are predominated in the populations of Vipera berus. Same data were published early for Vladimir Region (Solovyov et al., 2016). Melanistic specimens of Zootoca vivipara we also registered in the Goro-khovets District. A large population of rarest reptile species Coronella austriaca discovered in the Mu-romsky Reserve, Gorokhovets District.
