INTRODUCTION

Learning can take different places such as school, college, lyceum or university and it has several functions while students are taking places in. In this way, teaching foreign languages are becoming widely common around the world. significant medium for education, science, and technology. As a result, the demand for effective English teaching methods has grown exponentially. This article explores the modern methods of teaching English, aiming to equip educators with the tools and techniques necessary to engage and educate students in today's diverse and dynamic classrooms.

TRANSITION TO MODERN METHODS

The shift from traditional to modern methods in English teaching represents a significant evolution in pedagogical approaches. This transition, which began in the mid-20th century, was driven by several factors including advances in linguistics, psychology, and educational theory.19th and 20th centuries mainly saw teacher-oriented classes such as grammar translation and audio-lingual methods which were widely used in the classroom. It is true that these methods played a main role to improve student's learning process. Unfortunately, as the world has greatly been connecting to technology, traditional methods has faced their own drawbacks since the world swiftly changed. The limitations of these traditional methods led to a search for more effective approaches. The transition to modern methods was marked by several key developments: Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): Emerging in the 1970s, CLT represented a significant shift in focus from the formal aspects of language (grammar and vocabulary) to the functional aspects (communication and meaning). CLT emphasizes the ability to use language effectively in real-life situations. It is characterized by: Student-Centered Learning: Students take an active role in their learning process, with the teacher acting as a facilitator. Use of Authentic Materials: Real-life materials such as newspapers, videos, and audio recordings are used to create meaningful learning experiences. While focusing on Communication, activities such as role-plays, discussions, and problem-solving tasks are designed to promote communicative competence. Take more example here, Task-Based Language Teaching focuses on engaging students in meaningful tasks that mirror real-world language use. Clearly, tasks are carefully designed to reflect authentic language use and are sequenced to progress from simple to complex. In the engagement, students are actively involved in completing tasks, which promotes motivation and retention. As for these reasons, language teaching competence is incredibly getting complex and complex, but greatly helping for the students to overcome the problems that can be occurred continuous conversations or real-world situations.

INTRODUCING TECHNOLOGY IN LANGUAGE CLASSROOM

In an era where digital transformation can be seen in every aspect of life, the realm of language education is no exception. The integration of technology into

language learning has revolutionized traditional pedagogical approaches, making language acquisition more accessible, engaging, and effective. Technology has dismantled geographical barriers, enabling language learners to access resources and interact with native speakers from around the globe. Online platforms such as Duolingo, Babbel, and Bamboozle offer structured language courses that adapt to the learner's pace and proficiency level. These platforms leverage algorithms to personalize learning experiences, ensuring that learners are continually challenged yet not overwhelmed.

Moreover, video conferencing applications such as Zoom and Skype have transformed traditional classroom settings. Virtual language classes provide real-time interaction with instructors and peers, facilitating an immersive learning environment. This real-time communication is crucial for developing speaking and listening skills, as it replicates the spontaneous nature of conversational practice. The use of multimedia resources such as videos, podcasts, and interactive e-books enriches the language learning experience. For instance, YouTube hosts channels dedicated to language learning, offering tutorials, cultural insights, and authentic language usage. Listening to podcasts in the target language can improve auditory skills and provide exposure to different accents and dialects.

Interactive e-books and digital storytelling apps bring language to life through animations, audio, and interactive elements. These resources cater to different learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, making language learning more inclusive and effective.

MAKING LEARNING FUN WITH THE HELP OF GAMIFICATION

Gamification in language education has proven to be a powerful motivator. By incorporating elements of game design such as points, badges, and leaderboards, platforms like Duolingo engage learners in a fun and competitive manner. These elements encourage consistent practice and provide a sense of achievement, which is vital for maintaining motivation over time.

Language learning apps often include interactive exercises that enhance vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills. These exercises typically involve matching words with images, completing sentences, and engaging in simulated conversations, which reinforce learning through repetition and active participation.

CONCLUSION

The transition to modern methods in English teaching reflects a broader shift towards more interactive, student-centered, and communicative approaches. By focusing on real-world language use, fostering learner autonomy, and integrating technology, modern methods aim to equip students with the skills needed for

effective communication in a globalized world. This evolution continues to shape the landscape of language education, adapting to the changing needs of learners and advancements in educational research. As long as modern methods are coming to perform main roles, technology is also surpassing its way into education field. The integration of technology in language education has opened up new avenues for learning, making it more engaging, personalized, and effective. From gamified apps and multimedia resources to AI and VR, technology offers a wealth of tools to enhance language acquisition. As technology continues to evolve, so too will the opportunities for innovative and effective language learning, ultimately breaking down linguistic barriers and fostering global communication. As these two engagements come into classrooms, we have a new brand style for teaching languages.
