social networks is standard among adolescents and young people. Diverse identities and different generations converge in the Cuban digital population, particularly within a sector of the population that has been in contact with the digital world since birth ; the so-called “digital natives”. Being born into a world with technology does not exclude this generation from the need to prepare for the use of digital networks. An exploratory descriptive study of mixed methodology carried out on adolescents in 2021 revealed that the age at which children start to use technology without adult mediation or supervision is decreasing. For this reason, the Nativos Project arose. This is a socio-educational project in social networks whose objective is to promote the proper use of ICTs in adolescents by generating educational content on the digital platform, while promoting consumption of cultural content. The project meets in virtual spaces and is brought face-to-face through workshops. Its purpose is to create a spokesperson adolescent community capable of replicating knowledge and becoming facilitators, spreading awareness of the proper and beneficial uses of these technologies. Our main mission with the adolescent community is to encourage critical analysis of social realities and to contribute to good media consumption practices.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic created challenges globally. Children are a particularly vulnerable group, facing more challenges than most due to the transfer of learning from the classroom to either homeschooling or online class. Given the turbulence of the seasonal waves of the pandemic, these changes created tensions between children and their parenting and/or teachers, alongside the changes to other aspects of their routines and self-discipline. The present study focuseson the mental health status of primary school students based on online surveys of either family or campus settings. The study concludes with a discussion on the potential for similar public health crises in the near future.
