What is text translation? Translation of the text in general can be defined as the creation on the basis of the original text in one language the equivalent text in another language, equivalent into the original in a communicative sense. According to the genre and stylistic coloring of the translated material, the following classifications of translations of texts can be distinguished: scientific and technical, socio-political, military, legal, everyday and artistic translations.

The focal point in this article will be on the peculiar features of the translation of literary texts. The study of the peculiarities and difficulties of translation is conducted in philology in various directions: phraseological, idiomatic, word-formative, lexicological, lexicographical, stylistic, etc. Translation is an important supportive tool that ensures the performance of the language of its communicative function in cases where people express their thoughts in different languages. The possibilities of translation are reflected in the peculiarities of translating artistic texts with their expressiveness and specific functions.

The problem chosen for the study does not lose its relevance, since the interest in the game possibilities of translating an artistic text in our time - is extremely large. While translating an artistic text from the source language into the target, an interpreter, as a rule, faces a number of difficulties. In the theory of translation of artistic texts, there is the following opinion: the original of the literary text, originally written for the readers of its language, has its own national characteristics and characteristics that are traits only of given people, can not in absolute accuracy be recreated in the language of another people [2, 13]. Unlike translations, for example, of scientific texts, the translation of works of art can be fully compared with art, whose task is not the literal transmission of the text, but something more. The complexity of the translation of artistic texts can be explained by the specific methods of reflecting the world in different languages and the difference in cultures to which the languages of translation and the original belong, which is why the literal translation is often simply unable to convey the full depth of the work of art. Far from everyone, even a practitioner, the translator is able to translate the work of art qualitatively, because often the translator does not have to reproduce the text in a foreign language, before comprehending the original. To create a competent literary translation, an interpreter must have the ability to interpret word games, the ability to convey artistic images. Consequently, the translator of works of art is not just a man fluent in two languages, it is also a writer.

In other words, the translation of work of art is not just a literal translation of a text, and often the artistic translation of a text may not coincide with the original, since the main task of such translation is to deliver the message from source into target language in the same order for the native speaker [4, 98]. Consequently, the translator sets out on his paper his vision, the understanding of the artistic text. After analyzing the translation and comparing

the results with the original text, you can determine the level within the elements like -artistic taste, breadth of the writer's horizons and features of the worldview of the translator. At the initial analysis of features of translation of the literary text, it is possible to allocate the following number of problems which are faced by all translators:

The specificity of the translation of set expressions; the problem of translation of the word game; the need to take cultural differences into account.

The specificity of translating set expressions is not so complicated, as it may seem at first glance. Using a dictionary of set phrases and phrases of speech, as well as a dictionary of synonyms, you can easily select the most suitable translation. For example, consider the following sentence, taken from the book of Jack London "White Fang": "No reflection on you, doctor, you understand; but he must have the advantage of every chance "[3, 283]. (The expression "no reflection on you" in a literal translation will sound like this - it does not affect you at all). This proposal is part of a dialogue between Judge Scott and the surgeon. The conversation is more business than friendly. Translator M. Lagunova suggests translating this expression as "do not be offended." Also it can be translated as "do not take to your account". Both options are lexically correct, but have small stylistic differences. We are more inclined to the second version of the translation, since it more corresponds to the colloquial situation in the story.

A distinctive feature of art translations is that they convey not only the meaning of the original text, but also, the particular perception of the translator himself due to its specificity. In general, the essence of this process can be defined as an attempt to eliminate the linguistic and intercultural barrier between the author and the reader, skipping the original text, through the "prism of perception" of the translator.
