Abstract: Currently, many researchers are engaged in the development of educational information technologies and their improvement, since it is often information technologies that allow solving the main problems of teaching. In the modern educational space, the problem of the availability of information for educational institutions on the Internet is relevant. These technologies are gaining popularity among teachers and make it much easier for novice teachers to find the necessary information and gain experience through communication.

Representatives of the scientific and methodological community interpret the concept of "distance learning" in different ways. For example, the authors and participants of the distance learning project from California, USA (the California Distance Learning Project, CDLP) define it as follows: distance learning is a knowledge delivery system that connects students with learning resources, provides access to education for those who do not attend educational institutions, and expands student learning opportunities through the introduction of new technologies. There are three types of distance learning technologies used in the process of teaching - case-technology based on paper or teaching aids, used in combination with full-time education; television and satellite technology using educational television and relevant video materials.

Online learning, which includes a wide range of learning methods, tools, and resources. Most often, all technologies are used, albeit in different proportions. As a rule, students are sent a certain set of materials or educational content when they enroll in a course. These can be electronic or paper training programs, textbooks, manuals, lecture audio and video courses, tasks for group and independent work, placed on different media. In addition, students can keep in touch with teachers through email, chats, forums, ICQ, video, and web conferences. Students can, if required by the program, be interviewed and tested in real time (synchronously) or deferred time (asynchronously)foreign languages:

The characteristic features of distance learning in foreign languages today are: modularity; changing the role of the teacher (associated with the separation of functions of course developers, teachers, tutors, etc.); the use of specialized technologies, forms and means of teaching. Usually, the training course is based on the use of the following

elements: search engines (Google, Yandex, Rambler, etc.); web pages and sites; email (including mailing lists); forums and blogs; chats and ICQ; tele and video conferences; virtual classrooms; wikis; etc.

The most common forms of classes in distance learning are chat classes, web classes or webinars, as well as video and teleconferences. Chat classes are training sessions conducted using chat technologies. Such classes are held synchronously and all participants have simultaneous network access to the chat. Web-based classes include conferences, seminars, business games, laboratories, workshops, and other forms of training conducted via telecommunications and the Internet. Specialized educational web forums can be used for web classes. This form includes the work of users on a specific topic or issue using entries posted on one of the sites with a pre-installed program. Web forums are distinguished from chat classes by the possibility of longer, often multi-day work and the asynchronous nature of the network interaction between students and teachers. Video and teleconferences are conducted on the basis of mailing lists using email. The broadcast is carried out via Skype or a similar program that allows you to establish instant voice and visual communication with the subscriber anywhere in the world.

There are also distance learning sites in the system of linguistic education. The Internet portal is a popular website with a large number of services and services provided, visited by a large number of users. Most web portals are built around search engines and directories. The word "portal" itself is of Latin origin and means "gate". In other words, if an ordinary website is the end point that the Internet user gets to, then the portal is just the beginning of a long and exciting journey. One of the main differences between the portal and the standard site is a large number of external links to third-party Internet resources. To facilitate the user's navigation on the Web, to give him the maximum number of addresses of other sites where he can find interesting information-these are the main functions of the Internet portal (5).

To date, distance education has become possible due to the development of new information technologies, it has changed with the development of radio and television, and finally became online. Thus, a new direction appeared - educational technologies, which made it possible to independently study almost any area of our life. The availability of video lectures and seminars has significantly changed the education system, making it possible to see and listen to the opinions of experts around the world on the issue of interest. All of the above is positively reflected in the training of highly qualified personnel.
