In this experiment, a single factor test was used to select 180 Leghorn laying hens aged 231d with similar body weight, which were randomly divided into 4 groups of A, B, C and D. Each group had 5 repetitions and 9 hens. Group A was the control group, fed basal diet, B, C and D as the treatment group, and 2mg/kg, 4mg/kg and 6mg/kg were added to the basal diet respectively. The feeding test was carried out for 35 days. The effects of different levels of apo-ester on the production performance and egg quality of laying hens were investigated through the determination of production performance, egg quality. The results showed that adding 2mg/kg to 6mg/kg apo-ester in diet did not affect the average daily feed intake, egg weight, egg material ratio and egg production rate, but had significant influence on the egg quality, egg shape index, egg yolk weight and egg yolk color.

Abstract

Beta-apo-8'-carotene ethyl ester(Apo-ester) as a kind of pigment allowed to be applied, the current research is to add it and other pigments together with the egg and chicken feed, for individual as an additive. Apo carotene acetyleste (Apo-ester) is widely found in natural plants, and current research shows that autin is a colorant that has been used in production and has been shown to be used in garicin yellow processing, and thus the resulting product coloring effect of better use of the value significantly improved, but also because poultry has high bio availability, which is cheap and easy to obtain. In WHO, SCF, MAFF, MOA, etc. the Apo-ester got extensive, but in practical application, because of its sensitivity to humidity, light, O2, temperature and other natural conditions. This as a result of the destruction of the Apo-ester in the feed add process, which puts strict requirements on the production process, also it has promoted the further development of Apo-ester.

Material and method

Basic feed: produced by Hubei Nong Teng Feed Co., Ltd. The nutritional needs of egg chicken in accordance with the NRC (1994) egg chicken standard.

Apo-ester powder: provided by a Wuhan company, the content of Apo-ester is 5%. Experimental animals: 30-40 weeks old Leghorn. The feed-based of the test group was mixed with Apo-ester powder.

Total 180 Leghorn laying hens selected (231d) with good health, similar weight and randomly divided into A, B, C, D 4 groups, each group 5 repeat, each repeat 9 chickens. Group A is a control group, feeding the base diet, B, C, D as the treatment group, added in the base diet of Apo-ester powder 40 mg/kg, 80 mg/kg, 120 mg/kg /kg (equivalent to adding 2 mg/kg, 4 mg/kg, 6 mg/kg) in the diet respectively. The feeding test time is 35 days.

Based on a single-factor, completely random approach to the group design, healthy chickens of similar weight of 231 days were randomly divided into 4 groups (2, 4, 6 mg/kg apo-ester added to the control group and diet, respectively) for each group of 5 repetitions, each repeating 9 chickens. The addition of 2 mg/kg to 6 mg/kg apo ester in the diet had no significant effect on the average daily harvest of egg chickens, average egg weight, total egg weight, egg ratio and egg yield.

Effect of different amounts of apo-ester on the health of egg and chicken

The effects of Apo-ester on egg-chicken serum hydrogen peroxide enzyme (CAT), superoxide gibbeliase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC).

Adding apo-ester to the diet increases the activity of serum GSH-PX, with the most significant effect on adding levels from 2 mg/kg to 4 mg/kg. But there is no significant effect on SOD, CAT, T-AOC activity.

Summary

Laying hens daily grain added 2mg/kg to 6 mg/kg apo-ester and daily harvested, average egg weight, egg ratio, egg quality (egg index, egg weight, hatch unit, eggshell thickness, protein height), egg yellow and egg cholesterol content are not significantly affected. References
