The main form of physical upbringing organization in the system of higher education is physical culture lessons. While organizing physical upbringing among foreign students it is necessary to take into consideration the language barrier, motor experience, interests and needs of students in mastering new kinds of physical culture and sport activity. Materials. Studying the attitude of foreign students to physical culture lessons and sport at a higher educational establishment. Research methods. Information sources analysis and summarizing, questionnaire survey, methods of mathematical statistics. Practical relevance of the research is in the use of the received results in order to realize a differentiated approach while planning physical culture lessons with foreign students. Research novelty is in getting new information concerning gender and age-related characteristics of foreign students, their preferences in kinds of sport and physical exercises. Results. The research results analysis showed that foreign students show great interest in physical culture lessons both at the 1st and the 2nd courses. However, the level of interest is higher among boys than among girls. Most foreign students prefer sports games: boys choose football and volleyball, girls prefer volleyball. In this connection students don’t show desire to go in for athletics, gymnastics, skiing, swimming. The interest in physical culture lessons among students decreases by the 2nd course. Conclusion. Thus, during physical upbringing of foreign students at a higher educational establishment it is necessary to increase the interest in athletics, gymnastics, swimming and skiing and actively involve girls into physical culture lessons.

INTRODUCTION

Getting higher education in the Russian Federation by foreign students became an ordinary practice. It is prestigious, available and is economically more attractive for foreign students. Higher education in Russia is also interested in foreign students, as it influences rating of a higher educational establishment.

One of the main objectives of higher education is socially significant personality upbringing. The personality, who has not only professional competencies, but also is able to realize the future professional activity. In this connection

important role belongs to physical upbringing of students, the main orientation of which is to form general and professional culture of the future specialist [1].

The main form of physical upbringing organization in the system of higher education is physical culture lessons. Physical culture is a specific process and the result of an activity of physical development. Its base is a purposeful motor activity. It helps to develop important motor abilities and skills, physical qualities, improve health and preserve a steady working capacity [3].

In the system of higher education "Physical

culture" discipline belongs to the basic course of "General humanitarian and social-economic disciplines" cycle. Humanitarian significance of physical culture is in a long-term motivation formation to realize a healthy life style and physical development. That is why during physical culture lessons it is important to give students the system of knowledge concerning the basis of physical culture and a healthy life style, create the conditions for practical competences mastering. Mastering provide health improvement and psychophysical conditions development [2].

During physical upbringing organization among foreign students it is necessary to take into account several characteristics: language barrier; mentality of the state, where the student came from; students' motor experience and needs in mastering new kinds of physical culture and sport activity [4,5,6,7].

Taking into consideration these characteristics would help to increase the motivation and interest in physical culture lessons among foreign students, form the mindset for a successful physical culture and sport activity and involve them into the values of physical culture. This item conditions the urgency of the held research.

The aim of the research is to study the attitude of foreign students to physical culture and sport lessons at a higher educational establishment.

The objectives of the research: 1. To reveal the interest of foreign Table 1 - Age and gender related characteristics of the

2. To define the attitude of foreign students to different kinds of physical exercises. MATERIALS AND METHODS The research work was held on the basis of Yelabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University in Yelabuga (the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) since December, 2020 till February, 2021. 70 foreign students from Turkmenistan took part in the research. 33 of them studied at the 1st course, 37 at the 2nd course of Mathematics and Natural Sciences department. Questionnaire survey was used in the research work. We created the questionnaire. It included 12 close alternative and multivariant type questions in order to study the attitude of foreign students to physical culture lessons and sport during their study at a higher educational establishment. RESEARCH AND DISCUSSION At the initial stage of the research we studied age and gender related characteristics of the respondents. 48,4% of the first-year students were boys, 51,5% were girls. Among the students of the 2nd course there were 24,3% of boys and 75,6% of girls.

Age related range among the boys of the 1st course was 20-23 years old, among girls - 18-19 years old. At the 2nd course boys and girls at the age of 20-21 prevail (table 1).

Studying the interest of foreign students in physical culture and sport lessons we received the following results.

Students answered the following questions: "Have you even gone in for any sport?", "Have you ever attended sports clubs at a higher educational establishment?" and "Do you like to attend physical culture lessons and sport at a higher educational establishment?". We revealed that most students, both at the 1st and the 2nd courses, earlier went in

for some sport and that they liked to attend sports lessons at a higher educational establishment. The level of interest in physical culture lessons and sport was higher among boys, than among girls (table

2-4).

Answering the question "Which kind of of boys at the first course would like to go in for

sport would you like to go in for?" most respondents wrestling and 12,5% -track and field. Girls at the

mentioned sport games: among boys preference is 2nd course are interested in tennis (28,5%) and

given to football, among girls to volleyball. 18,7% gymnastics (14,2%) (table 5).

Studying the attitude of foreign students to different kinds of physical exercises we revealed that 56,2% of boys at the 1st course like sports games and power oriented exercises, 37,5% of boys prefer swimming, general developing and gymnastic exercises and 31,2% of boys prefer running. At the 2nd course 55,5% of boys prefer running, 22,2% of boys choose sport games and swimming and only 11,1% choose power oriented exercises.

35% of girls at the 1st course are interested in sports games and general developing exercises, 23,5% of girls prefer running; 50% of girls at the 2nd course prefer sports games, 39,2% prefer running exercises, 21,4% prefer skiing and 17,8% prefer general developing and gymnastic exercises (table 6).

CONCLUSION

Foreign students show great interest in physical culture lessons both at the 1st and the 2nd courses. However, the level of interest is higher among boys than among girls.

Most foreign students prefer sports games: boys choose football and volleyball, girls prefer volleyball. In this connection students don't show desire to go in for athletics, gymnastics, skiing, swimming. The interest in physical culture lessons among students decreases by the 2nd course.

Thus, during physical upbringing of foreign students at a higher educational establishment it is necessary to increase the interest in athletics, gymnastics, swimming and skiing and actively involve girls into physical culture lessons.
