in the current article the results of the scientific work of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University», embodied in 2020 in inventions, including those related to digital technologies, are considered. The possibilities of their introduction into the educational process and clinical practice of a modern dentist are also described. All the inventions of the department are intended for dental prosthetics. The authors of the inventions include the staff of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University», the resident and students. The described developments are introduced into the educational process of the department during the study of the discipline «Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry». Certain techniques are also being approbated in various public and private dental health facilities. It should be noted that review and analysis of new inventions, and comparison of their effectiveness with existing analogues during the educational process arouses interest among students. This encourages students to the innovative and inventive activity. The results of such activity can be realized both during the educational process and during practical training of dental students.

Abstract: in the current article the results of the scientific work of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University», embodied in 2020 in inventions, including those related to digital technologies, are considered. The possibilities of their introduction into the educational process and clinical practice of a modern dentist are also described.

All the inventions of the department are intended for dental prosthetics. The authors of the inventions include the staff of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University», the resident and students. The described developments are introduced into the educational process of the department during the study of the discipline «Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry».

Certain techniques are also being approbated in various public and private dental health facilities. It should be noted that review and analysis of new inventions, and comparison of their effectiveness with existing analogues during the educational process arouses interest among students. This encourages students to the innovative and inventive activity. The results of such activity can be realized both during the educational process and during practical training of dental students.

Prosthetic dentistry faces a big and complex goal - to improve the efficiency of dental care. At the same time, one of the tasks is to increase the terms of use of dentures [3].

The solution of these tasks is possible in various ways, but development and implementation of digital technologies is considered as the most effective one, in particular in cases of prosthetic treatment with removable dentures [1, 2].

Domestic and foreign experience gives evidence of the great possibilities of digital technologies in dentistry

[5].

Calculations show that the use of modern digital technologies in dental practice makes it possible to improve the quality of dental care and receive additional profit [4].

The aim of the work is to analyze the possibility of using the results of inventive activity of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University» during the studying process of the discipline «Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry».

At the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University», several methods of using digital technologies during removable dentures manufacturing have been developed.

Currently, patents for all invented methods have been obtained. The inventions have been introduced into the educational process of the discipline «Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry».

Proposed techniques are also being approbated in various public and private dental health facilities where practical training and residency education of dental students are being held.

Recently, the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University» presented the following inventions:

1. Patent №141423: «A method for modeling and fabrication of complete removable denture using 3D technology». Authors: Klyomin V. A. - Professor, Head of Department; Kubarenko V. V. - assistant; Artemenko M. V. - student; Korzh D. V. - dentist; Volvakov V. V. - assistant.

The utility model is based on the task of creating a method for modeling and fabrication of complete removable denture using 3D technology, which could provide an increase in the denture strength, reduce the time for denture fabrication, reduce the economic costs of denture fabrication without losing its quality, improve

denture fixation in the oral cavity, provide even distribution of the chewing load on the prosthetic field tissues and reduce the time of patient's adaptation to a new denture.

After the final modeling of denture base, the prototype of the complete removable denture is being scanned by a 3D scanner. Then a «key» should be made of plaster or polymer impression material to fix the setting of artificial teeth. After that, the individual impression tray and wax should be removed. The artificial teeth should be degreased and covered with an adhesive. The setting of artificial teeth is being carried out in accordance with the «key» and afterwards it is placed on the table of a 3D printer. Denture base is being casted with a hot polymer using a 3D printer [6].

2. Patent №144789: «A method for a combined crown fabrication». Authors: Klyomin V. A. - Professor, Head of Department; Korzh V. I. - Associate Professor; Korzh D. V. - dentist; Artemenko M. V. - student; Taylieva K. S. - student.

This method provides the simplicity and speed of a combined crown manufacturing by reducing the number of laboratory steps. This is achieved by converting the wax composition into metal by casting and applying the crown facing in the patient's oral cavity. The cheapness of the method is achieved by using low cost materials. Tooth preparation with a shoulder prevents gum inflammation caused by the contact of the gum with crown facing. The hydrophobicity of the facing prevents chipping and cracking. The facing does not lose its aesthetic qualities and gloss over time, and also does not require polishing every six months. Such crowns can be used in patients with high tooth wear. Crown fabrication by casting makes it possible to increase crown strength, wear resistance of the crown framework, and also improves the accuracy of reproduction of anatomical shape of the tooth [8].

3. Patent №142045: «Method for a complete removable denture relining». Authors: Klyomin V. A. -Professor, Head of Department; Kubarenko V. V. - assistant; Artemenko M. V. - resident; Alizada A. M. -resident.

The utility model is based on the task of creating a method that provides time reducing for denture relining, reducing of economic costs of denture relining, as well as improving the accuracy of repetition of the tissues relief of the prosthetic field, which will make it possible to achieve even distribution of the chewing load on the tissues of the prosthetic field, reduce atrophy of prosthetic field tissues and reduce the time of patient's adaptation to the relined denture.

For providing of proposed method for complete removable denture relining a functional impression using a patient's removable denture should be obtained. The functional impression is scanned with a 3D scanner, and then models of the patient's prosthetic field are created and analyzed in the Artec 3D software. Next, the denture is being set on the table of a 3D printer and with its help a hot polymer is applied to the areas covered with an adhesive. The use of the Artec 3D software provides high-precision repetition of the tissue relief of the prosthetic field and valve zone, that improves denture fixation. The even distribution of the chewing load on the prosthetic field tissues reduces their atrophy. At the same time, the time of patient's adaptation to relined denture is reduced [7].

Considering all the above, the following conclusions should be made:

1. One of the priority directions of the department's activity is the use of digital technologies. Students and residents are actively involved in this process. They took an active part in the invention and implementation of new methods of dental prosthetics proposed in 2020. Practice shows that the consideration and analysis of new developments in the relevant classes, the comparison of their effectiveness with existing analogues arouses interest among students and residents. This results in a much deeper perception of the studied material. It also allows attracting the most active students to rationalization and inventive activity.

2. The results of inventive activity can be actively used to solve practical problems and use the obtained results in the educational process and during practical training in order to form knowledge and manual skills of students and residents during the study of discipline «Clinical Prosthetic Dentistry».
