Keywords: poem, literature, history, known, gender, based on, role, authors, die, books, introduction, world, explore.

INTRODUCTION

Literature has evolved over time in a variety of ways. Characters and themes change to fit the time period. Perspective on a writer's emotional condition is offered by attitudes and literary tactics, frequently as a consequence of external influences. There may be a shift in the format from formal to informal.

Research materials and methodology

The language used in literary works has changed the most over time. Every era has its own unique language system. The study of linguistics shows how these changes happen, frequently gradually over time, as a result of diction choices and social use, including dialect shifts, the prominence of slang and colloquialisms, and the adoption of new terms. Books provide as a map of those shifts. The great female authors of English literature use language in their works that reflects the artistic and social inclinations of their respective eras. Though the subjects in the writings of modern and post-modern writers like Alice Munro and Anne Carson may be similar to those of Victorian and Romantic writers like Emily Bronte and Mary Wollstonecraft, the stylistic elements are very different.

Alice Munro

Through her short stories, Alice Murno shares her opinions about women's roles in society, the past, and relationships. In particular, her story "Boys and Girls" centers on a girl who is attempting to break free from the expectations placed on her by her father and gain his recognition as an equal. "My father and I walk gradually down a long, shabby sort of street...in Tuppertown, an old town on Lake Huron," Munro writes, describing the expansive rural landscapes and straightforward personalities he writes about (Munro, 2006, p. 2778). Her stories' vocabulary reflects this

environment as well as the 20th century, especially the 1930s, which is the time period she writes about.

Anne Carson

The intriguing poetry "The Glass Essay" by Carson explores relationships and self-discovery. Regarding her relationships with her father, mother, and ex-lover, Carson provides insight. She uses introspection to assess herself as well as rich images to show the reader various aspects of her personality rendered in "nudes"—a metaphorical art form. "Nude 1...alone on a hill...stands into...a hard wind slanting from the north," writes Carson. Long ruffles and shredded flesh sever the woman's body...leaving a nerve, blood, and muscle exposed column that is calling silently through a lipless mouth (Carson, 2013, 218-225). Carson's writing skillfully combines quotes from the past with contemporary words. Carson's and other post-modern poetry sometimes feature storylines broken up with text or quotations, giving the piece a fragmented feel (Niedecker, n.d.). The language used in Carson's private inner monologue stands in stark contrast to the Victorian formality of Bronte's Wuthering Heights passages.

Bronte Emily

Emily Bronte had a rather alone existence. Her well-known book "Wuthering Heights" offers intriguing perspectives on relationships and self-motivation in spite of this solitary way of living. Two characters each provide their own perspectives to the story, which is told from their point of view. The narrative explores themes of love, hate, envy, and socioeconomic status that were prevalent in the Victorian era. In "Wuthering Heights," formal language is combined with descriptive elements that highlight societal class discrimination. For example, the sentence "Mr. Heathcliff forms a singular contrast to his abode and style of living" highlights this prejudice. In appearance, he resembles a dark-skinned gypsy, but in terms of attire and manners, he is as much of a gentleman as many country squires: he is very slovenly (Bronte, 1847, ch. 1). Great works from the past affected writers in the future, like Anne Carson.

Mary Wollstonecraft

Poverty and harshness dominated Mary Wollstonecraft's life. A fierce advocate for feminism, political equality, and girls' education, Wollstonecraft was also a feminist. In "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman," she made a strong case for women, urging them to see their own value, confront oppressors, and reject social norms that compelled them to be subservient and narrow-minded. The work's language is so well-written that it reads like a letter. It is a strong article that presents Wollstone-craft's views on oppression along with solutions to those issues. Her language is so-

phisticated, with statements like "the pretty superlatives, dropping glibly from the tongue, vitiate the taste and create a kind of sickly delicacy that turns away from simple unadorned truth" (Wollstonecraft, 2006, p. 1461) despite the work's evident motivation. The work by Wollstonecraft served as a catalyst for the feminist movement and opened doors for other female writers.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Literary devices can be found in works of Romantic, Victorian, Modern, and Post-Modern literature. The intensity of the images can change. The graphic representation of post-modernism may differ significantly from the sweetness of Victoria-na. The harsh surroundings of Wuthering Heights was portrayed by Bronte through the use of storm and wind; Carson's wind tears the flesh from the bone, exposing it. Wind is used in a very different way. While both Carson and Bronte employ wind to convey turbulence and hardship, Carson's depiction is much more vivid than Bronte's stormy scenario. Munro's artwork has a less vivid portrayal of rustic appeal. "She wears a good dress...a summer hat of white straw, pushed down on the side of her head...she walks serenely like a lady...past the housewives in loose beltless dresses torn under the arms," the author writes of the girl accompanying her mother on their way to the grocery store. This portrays the mother's dissatisfaction with her social standing (Munro, 2006, p. 2780). Writing has always been shaped by social expectations. Many writers and artists write for readership, even though they strive to push the boundaries. The social stigma that came with being a woman in those days followed female writers of the Romantic and Victorian eras. Since it was believed that women were not intellectual, these writers had to challenge this misconception while still producing works that readers could identify with.

CONCLUSION

Literature evolves with time. The earliest literary works, like Homer and Hesi-od, presented mythological and creationist concepts. These foundational masterpieces were built upon by every age. Writing about the world, relationships, and life aims to enlighten readers. The reasons behind the varying representations of each age are explained by this quest for understanding. Life is not static. Findings are made, language and diction in society change, social classes change, access to education increases, and women's role in society changes from that of caregiver to equal member. Wollstonecraft's feminist writings were influenced by romanticism, and she writes in a style that is accessible to ordinary women despite its formality and complexity.
