Scopus [1]

- цель управления — обеспечение стабильных, не изменяющихся по времени параметров и режимов процесса;

процесса внешние воздействия имеют случайный характер;

- управляющая система — система воздействий, определяемых требованиями операционно-технологических карт на параметры и режимы процесса; задачей системы является сохранение их в заданных пределах допуска на изменения;

- объект управления — технологический процесс, неотъемлемым свойством которого является его деградация, т.е. обязательно ухудшение параметров и без внешнего вмешательства;

- информационная система — комплекс аппаратных и программных средств, обеспечивающих сбор данных о состоянии объекта управления, их обработку и формирование управляющих воздействий на рабочие органы, обеспечивающие функционирование объекта; особенностью системы является ее работа в реальном масштабе времени;

- управляющие воздействия — комплекс мероприятий, зависящих от данных информационной системы и препятствующих процессам деградации параметров и режимов технологического процесса;

- переменные состояния х^), х2(0, ..., хт(0, характеризующие параметры и режимы процесса;

- управляющие переменные ^(0, г2(0, ..., гт(0, представляющие собой воздействия на объект управления, создаваемые управляющей системой;

- внешние переменные /1(0, /2(0, ••, Ж0, создаваемые окружающей средой;

x(t) е A(t), г^) е B(t). (2)

Е ^(0; г^); f (t)} = extremum (3)

Q = Q {Е„д - E),

C = C {Q, P}.

C = C {Q, P}^ min,

s = {x(i0) -x(i)} ^ min.

- с удержанием параметров и режимов технологических процессов от деградации;

- использованием цифровых принципов обработки параметров состояния процессов;

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Any industrial production is faced with the need to solve the problem of technological process control. And this problem is solved in one way or another for a specific process in a specific workplace depending

on the nature of the technology used and the available production resources. A variety of methods for solving the problem lead, respectively, to a variety of hardware and software used for management purposes. Such multiplicity is largely caused by the lack of a single theory and summarizing methodology for

technological process control. Their absence gives rise to the need to re-solve management tasks each time on a case-by-case basis for each particular production. Using the general theory of process control, it becomes possible to obtain standard universal solutions, the use of which would reduce the time for the development of specific process control systems, reduce their cost and optimize the material and intellectual resources used.

The initial prerequisites for the development of such a theory are the identification of characteristic possibilities for obtaining and processing control signals, the formation of boundary conditions for their existence and determination of generalized control goals. The implementation of the stated provisions requires formalizing the task of controlling technological processes, determining the formal variables involved in the control process, and setting formal goals for the work of control structures.

RELEVANCE OF THE TASK AND CURRENT STATE ASSESSMENT

This approach is now especially relevant in the context of the industrial revolution 4.0, characterized, in particular, by the digitalization of production, which provides new opportunities for collection and processing of control signals, creating optimal algorithms for controlling technological processes; and using artificial intelligence when processing big data arrays.

Technological process management has been talked about for many years. According to the Scopus database [1], the first mention in the article is dated 1961 [2]. Over time, attention to the topic has only intensified. Since 1961, on average, articles mentioned the topic at least 147 times a year. According to Scopus, Jianjun Shi was the most active writer on process control. His writings also mentioned the need to study and model the causal relationships between product quality and production variables in order to create a proactive control model, since otherwise, due to uncertainties caused by initial changes in process parameters, the control does not reflect the real physics of the process [3, 4]. In light of this, we are considering a deeper immersion in the topic of research on actual technological processes in terms of increased attention to digitalization.

In accordance with the currently adopted definitions, a technological process is a system of interaction with environmental components, as a result of which a useful effect gets formed [5]. It should be noted that there is a developed theory of managing complex technical systems.

However, there is a separate segment of control theory that is not related to technological processes. However, the principles and algorithms used therein

can be adapted and extended to technological process control.

CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF THE CONTROL OBJECT

Degradation change in system characteristics

The technological process is essentially a complex technical system, the main distinguishing feature of which is the constant insurmountable and degradative change in the characteristics of the system over time. The insurmountability of degradation is determined by the very essence of technological processes, which is associated, for example, with tool wear during machining or a change in the composition of solutions during galvanic operations. These changes since the beginning of the technological process lead to a deterioration of system characteristics, compensation of which is carried out by constant intervention in the process.

This distinguishes them from traditional systems for managing technical objects, in which changing the characteristics of individual components included in the system is undesirable, but, as a rule, an accidental factor that disrupts the stability of its operation while the ability to control the system as a whole is maintained.

Nevertheless, to such special technical systems as the technological process, the general principles of control theory apply.

This is of particular importance during the current transition from analog control of technological processes to digital. This provides, on the one hand, the possibility of more accurate process control, and, on the other hand, requires a change in the principles of technological process control.

Random change in system characteristics

At the same time, general approaches to the management of technical systems can be successfully used to ensure the controllability of technological processes [6].

The stated provisions mean that the probability of failures during the operations of the manufacture of individual elements and the technological process of obtaining a product in general, is random in nature.

At the same time, it should be noted that in this case we are considering failures not of the final product, i.e. events that can be corrected, for example, by repairing the product, which is an independent workflow operation, but a process failure. Such an event can be prevented by interfering with the process by changing its parameters or modes. The possibility of such an intervention is determined by the degree of process controllability.

Variations

It should be noted that the controllability of the process can be considered in two aspects: statistical and functional.

Controllability in the statistical sense can be investigated based on the theory of statistical variability of processes, founded by W. Shewhart and W. Deming [7]. According to this theory, all processes in artificial systems, which include technological processes for the manufacture of products, are subject to variations. These variations can be due to two types of causes: common and special. It is assumed that the general causes of variation are due to the peculiarities of the system functioning, and that special ones are violations of the parameters and modes of the system function.

Variations are random deviations during the operation of the technological system. The causes of variation can be of three kinds: systemic, systematic, and random.

Systemic causes can be identified but not compensated; they can be determined for a given technological process, but it is not possible to reduce or eliminate their influence on the occurrence of process failure.

Systematic causes can be identified and compensated, i.e. their influence on process variability is minimal and predictable.

Random causes cannot be identified and cannot be compensated. In fact, they belong to the category of special, unpredictable reasons. Random causes are determined by a number of similar random factors, although dependent, but not controlled by the technological process itself.

In general, it is possible to estimate the value and dependence of the random cause of failure [8] on its components using the known ratio

A = Vl nW',

where A is the value of the random total cause of failure; Si — i-th component of the total cause; k1i — coefficient based on the distribution law of the corresponding i-th component; k2i — coefficient of impact of the i-th component on the total value of the cause of failures.

In most cases, the law of normal distribution acts as the rule for the distribution of components in the control of technological processes [9]. According to the properties of the law, the coefficient k1i is equal to 1.

The coefficient k2i depends on the peculiarities of a particular technological process and is determined by the influence of parameters and modes of the technological process on the total cause. In technological practice, the degree of influence can generally be determined using Paretto diagrams.

Statistical process controllability

The presented ratio can also be used to assess the controllability of the technological process, seemingly in a posterior, statistical sense, i.e. after the implementation of the process. In this case, its use for real-time process control, it would seem, does not make sense. However, for technological processes, especially in commercial production, a characteristic feature is repeatability, i.e. the process is repeated many times with unchanged initial conditions. The number of repetitions depends on the volume of the batch of manufactured products, and the duration of the process is determined by the time of obtaining the final product of a specific technological operation from the work-piece.

Due to this feature of technological processes, the above ratio can be used to adjust the process control functions towards changing and improving the parameters and modes of the process within the specified limits, i.e. "pulling" them to the mathematical expectations of these parameters and modes.

Numerical data on process variations in serial production tends to be refined and, in a certain sense, to "predict" them, which provides great opportunities for real-time process control.

A statistically controlled process is defined as a process in which there are no signs of special causes of variations [10].

A statistically controlled process is considered stable if the presence of random variations does not guarantee any patterns of their appearance, and limits of variations are predictable. At the same time, the statistical stability of the process is not the basis for asserting the impossibility of its failure.

Functional process controllability

Statistical process controllability is not the ultimate goal of technological process organization. As soon as the process becomes stable, it becomes possible to assess the impact of special causes of variation on its course and determine the patterns for their prevention.

Such patterns include the functional controllability of the technological process, i.e. the ability to control the process in real time.

By functional control of technological processes, we understand the possibility of targeted influence on special causes of variation in order to maintain the process in a working state.

It should be noted that technological processes are essentially analog processes. This significantly limits the possibility of intervention in the process in order to prevent or compensate for special variations, i.e. changing technological parameters and modes directly during the process is problematic.

However, it is still possible to predict the occu-rence of special variations and the consequences of

their impact at various stages of the process [11]. The result of this evaluation can be used at the stage of technological preparation of production, which allows us to take into account and partially prevent the undesirable consequences of the influence of such variations before the start of the workflow.

At the same time, the development of digital methods for obtaining and processing data on the course of the analog process opens up new possibilities in terms of controllability of technological processes.

This approach makes it possible to use the well-known methods of the theory of automatic control of complex technical systems, which, in essence, are technological processes, to control them.

SOLVING THE PROBLEM

A generalized block diagram of the control system for any technically complex system, to which the technological process belongs, is shown in Fig [12].

Fig. Generalized structural diagram of the control system of a technically complex system

In the case of applying this scheme for the analysis and control of technological processes, its components are understood as

- purpose of control — ensuring stable parameters and modes of the process that do not change over time;

- external impacts — impacts of the technological environment that affect the parameters and modes of the technological process; external influences are random during the implementation of a statistically stable process;

- control system — system of impacts determined by the requirements of operational flow charts on the process parameters and modes; the task of the system is to keep them within the specified tolerance limits for changes;

- control object — a technological process, an integral property of which is its degradation, i.e. mandatory deterioration of parameters and without external intervention;

- information system — a set of hardware and software tools that ensure the collection of data on the state of the control object, its processing and the formation of control actions on the working bodies that ensure the operation of the object; the feature of the system is its real-time operation;

- control actions — a set of measures that depend on the data of the information system and prevent the degradation of the parameters and modes of the technological process;

- state of the control object — a set of parameters and modes of the technological process.

The stated provisions allow the use of the classical approaches of the theory of automatic regulation for controlling technological processes. In this case, technological processes can be considered as a class of closed active dynamic controlled systems of directional action [13].

Then the technological process as a controlled system can be characterized by the following groups of variables:

- Xi(t), x2(t), ..., xm(t) are state variables that characterize process parameters and modes;

- ri(t), r2(t), ..., rm(t) are control variables that represent the impacts on the control object created by the control system;

- fi(t), f2(t), ..., fk(t) are external variables created by the environment;

- z1(t), z2(t), ..., zi(t) are observed variables which are the process state parameters and modes, information about which is supplied to the control system; observed variables, in particular, may be state variables xi(t).

To construct process control algorithms, it is convenient to consider all variables as components of multidimensional vector functions and call vectors x(t), r(t), f(t) and z(t) as state, control, perturbation, and observation vectors, respectively.

At each moment of time, the state of the technological process as a controlled system depends on its initial state x(t0) and vectors r(t0) and f (t0), i.e. the state of the technological process at any time is determined by the equation:

x(t) = X{x(to); r(t, to); f (t, O}, (1)

where X is a function of the overall state of the technological process at any given time.

Equation (1) can be considered as a generalized technological process model.

A characteristic of technological processes is the imposition of restrictions on the change (or its derivatives) of the state vector and the control vector, which can be represented as:

x(t) e A(t), r(t) e B(t). (2)

This means that the changes of vectors x(t) and r(t) must be bounded by the closed domains A(t) and B(t) of the vector space.

The purpose of technological process control is to find the control vector ensuring the fulfillment of the condition

E {x(t); r(t); f (t)} = extremum (3) while satisfying the conditions connections and limita-

tions imposed by the internal properties of the technological process as a complex technical system.

To assess the achievability of the extremum, we will introduce the concept of a control quality indicator in the form of a functional

S = S {Kg "

where EHg is the extremum of the control target (3), corresponding to the ideal technological process course; E is the value of the control target indicator corresponding to the actual state of the process.

It is obvious that the desire to ensure the minimum value of Q conflicts with the existing conditions for the feasibility of the control system, which are characterized by its complexity, cost, reliability and other reasonable restrictions. Indeed, the higher the requirements for the quality of process control, the more unreliable and expensive the control system, the more hardware and software is required for its implementation [14]. The costs associated with the implementation of such a system are naturally transferred to the cost of manufactured products and, ultimately, to the affordability of users.

Let us consider a characteristic P, which is the main characteristic of the condition for the realizabili-ty of the control system, which can be its cost, complexity both in creation and operation, degree of reliability, etc. In general, the characteristic P can serve as a generalized measure of the totality of all these factors. Then the indicator for assessing the control effectiveness can be taken as a functional

C = C {Q, P}.

Taking into account the entered definitions, the task of optimizing process control can be considered the task of determining the control vector r(t), providing the minimum value of functional C, i.e.

C = C {Q, P}^ min,

and simultaneously satisfying the equation of the mathematical model of the process (1) and the constraints (2).

Setting a generalized technological process control task as a complex technical system has a number of features related to practical production experience.

Firstly, in the conditions of the modern industrial revolution 4.0, the main attention is paid to the transfer of already existing, practically proven technological processes to digital control. In this case, the control tasks can be reduced to a somewhat simpler task of controlling the process in order to keep it from degradation, i.e. formally, this boils down to holding the control vector in a state x(t0), since it is assumed that at the beginning of the technological process, all its modes and parameters are normal. Then the main goal of the functioning of the control system is to minimize

the error — the difference in the state vectors of the process

s = {x(t0) -x(t)} ^ min.

The second feature is the tendency to reduce the share of manual labor and, accordingly, to introduce automated equipment and digital methods for processing the received signals on the state of the workflow into manufacturing. The latter simplifies the task of constructing control algorithms and makes it possible to exclude or at least reduce the influence of subjective factors associated with human participation in the control process [15].

At the same time, the possibilities of digital processing of signals of the vector of the control variables r(t)make it possible to reduce the response time of the system to external disturbances and degradation changes in the parameters and modes of the process and increase the efficiency of control actions.

Also, the use of digital signal processing makes it possible to overcome the contradiction associated with the complexity of the control system, and therefore, with a decrease in its reliability, by increasing the accuracy of signal processing and reducing the response time of the system as a whole.

CONCLUSIONS

The presented formalizations of capabilities are the first step towards the development of a generalized methodology for creating typical unified process control systems, taking into account their main features related to:

- retention of parameters and modes of technological processes from degradation;

- using digital principles for processing parameters of workflow state;

- increasing the speed and accuracy of processing parameters of state of the workflow.

A formal description of the state of processes as control objects makes it possible to form generalized principles for solving control optimization problems and develop typical unified process models for various areas of instrumentation.

The criteria determined in the course of solving optimization problems and the constructed process models make it possible to develop typical ideal control algorithms, on the basis of which the reduction of control functions to regulation functions will allow the formation of unified optimal algorithms for typical cases of the implementation of technological processes.

This approach to the study of process control methods makes it possible to ensure their reliability in practice and, as a result, improve the quality of manufactured industrial products.
