Introduction

In the ever-evolving landscape of education, the integration of realia—authentic, real-world objects—has emerged as a powerful strategy to enhance learning experiences. From elementary classrooms to university lecture halls, educators are harnessing the potential of realia to engage students, deepen comprehension, and foster a love for learning. This article delves into the myriad benefits that realia offers for both educators and learners, shedding light on its transformative impact on the educational landscape. Realia is an instructional approach that enriches students' learning experiences by utilizing authentic things, artifacts, or materials. These items can range from commonplace goods like coins, maps, or newspapers to more specialist items like scientific apparatus or artifacts from a particular culture. Realia appeals to tactile and visual learners of all ages and strengthens language abilities. Realia are typically used by educators to illustrate vocabulary word meanings. Consider the distinction between teaching children fruit vocabulary and presenting the actual fruit and allowing them to guess its name. By using genuine materials, teachers can help students become more conversant in everyday circumstances and expose them to language outside of the classroom. Real resources have the potential to be more relevant to students' lives than textbooks used in the classroom. The study's conclusion is that teaching vocabulary with the realia technique is beneficial because the experimental group received higher average increment marks than the control group. Additionally, it is shown that the realia technique is comparatively more significant and helpful for primary school children.
