Abstract: the article focuses on the implementation of e-books in the educational process. The use of electronic applications in English lessons activates the attention of students, increases their motivation, develops cognitive processes, thinking, attention and imagination. Keywords: e-book, internet, accessible, self-study, quality, knowledge, approach, development, increasing, efficiency, enhance, motivation, learning.

In modern world the popularity of using information-communication technologies is increasing day by day. The use of computer technology in foreign language lessons can be presented in various variations: working with specialized sites, searching for necessary information on the Internet, watching authentic films, using educational programs and games, etc. At present, a very effective and relatively accessible method of learning foreign languages is the use of an electronic textbook. According to this point the problem of using electronic textbooks at English lessons is supposed to be the most important.

Particular interest for our study is the works of S.S. Kunanbayeva, G.K. Nurgalieva [1], A.M. Tulegenova [2], E.I. Rogov [3, p. 152], M.V. Shirobokova [4], etc., which are reflected issues regarding the didactic organization of electronic textbooks on the basis of the modular approach. Under the guidance of S.S. Kunanbayeva the following scientific researches carried out: development of methodology of Informatization on the basis of electronic textbooks (D.E. Sagymbaeva) and formation of the system of country studies on the basis of electronic textbooks (Zh.A. Tusselbayeva).

The use of electronic textbooks in the educational process allows the student to obtain expanded information on the subject, increases its educational potential, provides an opportunity for continuous education, improves the quality of the educational process, the productivity of the teacher's work, to develop the students' information culture, to increase the level of creativity of their thinking. American scientist William Woolf in his work notes that "electronic textbooks should contain animations and sound ... they should not contain only links to resources ... they should allow the user to apply alternative data analyses, comment, and supplement the documentation.... making an e-book as living document" [5].

In their research studies Weber and Cavanaugh explain that the e-book is more visual, colorful, bright, which increases the motivation of the students; on one medium there may be a large amount of information from different areas; the text may contain references to additional sources, which contributes to the deepening of knowledge; there is no need to carry bags with a large number of heavy books, which affects to the student's health [6, p. 56].

Taking into account Vernon R. states that e-textbook contains elements of interactivity. Students can perform verification work and get an instant assessment of their knowledge, which is very motivating for them. E-textbooks have a search function for the necessary information. This approach helps to meet the cognitive needs of students at various levels of learning. At the same time, information can be presented visually, graphically and in a sound format, which contributes to a better perception and memorization of educational material [7].

When teaching foreign culture an electronic textbook plays a special role. An extensive database of media content allows you to productively organize work on the formation and

development of communication skills. Similarly, Weber and Cavanaugh indicate that electronic textbooks include audio materials for the exercises, interactive technology for control and self-control and illustrative material. If there is a connection to the internet, on-line dictionaries can be used to work with the lexical material.

The use of innovative pedagogical technologies increases the efficiency and quality of the lesson. Thus, the use of electronic textbooks in the educational process significantly increases the students' motivation. It has an impact on the successful acquisition of students' language skills and ultimately increases the level of training.

Despite the digital technologies growth, expansion of electronic textbooks high accessibility they are not used enough in our educational establishments. The main purpose of teaching foreign languages at school is the formation and development of students' communicative culture. The task of the teacher is to activate student's cognitive activity in the process of teaching foreign languages, to use a wide range of different activities and focus on different skills, to choose such teaching methods that would allow each student to show their activity and creativity.

The effectiveness of using electronic benefits due to the following positive features: the ability to dynamically display the content (using video clips, or animations) presents the material more clear and convenient for human percepti on;compactness and mobility of e-learning tools; convenience and speed of search of the desired information; possibility of operational and objective control and assessment of the level of knowledge and skills of the user in the study area, implemented through testing with a strictly prescribed system assessments.

E-book differs from the paper textbook precisely because it is possible to separate the content from the form - for example, to create and read personally compiled and decorated collections of works, selection of texts and illustrations, the final volume of the collection, and so on. A paper book does not provide such an opportunity.

Thus, it is possible to imagine the difference between an e-book and an ordinary textbook today. Benefits of an ordinary textbook: tactile clear; durable; possibility of marks in the text; full color.

Disadvantages: there is no way to play the video; no interactivity.

Vernon R. stated that the majority of students and teachers prefer printed materials because they adjusted to traditional textbooks [7].

Advantages of e-book: search by word, page; stores many texts; changes font size; weighs little and compact; plays audio; in some versions there are dictionaries and calculators; quickly updated.

E-book one to one resembles an ordinary textbook. But the volume of its memory is ten thousand books. A whole library is in one book. The child will not have to carry a heavy backpack with six or seven textbooks every day, as they are supposed to be "poured" into the device weighing only 350 g, the material presented in the book of the future contains useful links to the topics already covered, and the student will not have to view the entire textbook for repetition. One has only to click on the hyperlink - immediately appear the necessary information. All this simplifies the study of the material, saves time.

Disadvantages of e-textbook: not every educational institution has the necessary equipment for the transition to the use of e-books, and also does not have the ability to buy all the necessary things; e-book is not provided active participation of the student during the lesson; control by a computer program is not always objective; the process of individualization is reduced; not all e-books are accompanied by a printed publication; the necessary equipment does not always work properly.

Effective use of the benefits of information and computer technology (ICT) is one of the factors in the innovative development of modern education. ICT contributes to the intensification of all levels of the educational process, increasing its effectiveness. The pedagogical potential of ICT is known in terms of enhancing the motivation of learning. Using a computer can rightly be considered one of the means of personal development, increasing the efficiency of the processes

of self-knowledge, self-affirmation, self-determination, self-realization, actualization of students' creative abilities.

Electronic textbooks allow to solve such basic pedagogical tasks as: initial familiarization with the subject, mastering its basic concepts and structures; basic training at different levels of depth and detail; control and evaluation of knowledge and skills; recovery of knowledge and skills.

The electronic textbook provides a variety of options, multi-level and a variety of verification tasks, tests. Thus, the principle of the individualization of education is clearly marked in the electronic textbook. Electronic textbooks are more accessible and mobile than printed ones. E-textbooks can be supplemented, adjusted, modified during operation [8, p. 461].

Electronic textbooks allow students to train different types of speech activity and combine them in different combinations, help you understand language phenomena, form linguistic abilities, create communicative situations, automate language and speech actions, and also provide the ability to record a leading representative system, the implementation of an individual approach and the intensification of independent work the student.

For students mastering a foreign language, an electronic textbook serves mainly as a simulator for self-study in vocational-oriented learning. Work with the electronic textbook can be carried out in the mode of reading educational materials, teaching elements of languages, monitoring and evaluation of knowledge.

The main task of electronic textbooks at the stage of obtaining new knowledge is to attract the capabilities of the human brain, in particular the auditory and emotional memory, other than the traditional textbook, in order to maximally facilitate understanding and memorizing the most significant concepts, statements and examples. The main fragments of the textbook or the topic along with the text and illustrations contain audio or video recording of the presentation of the material. The use of an electronic textbook enhances the activity of each student, increases his/her interest in studying subjects. Independent work with an electronic textbook or work in the classroom allows teachers to navigate, to find a solution to any problems. The use of modern methods of teaching students in class, namely, electronic textbooks, improves the quality of knowledge, speeds up the process of obtaining information.
