THE ROLE OF DIDACTIC GAMES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS

Annotation: This article illustrates the importance of educational games and their application to the teaching process, particularly the role of educational games in English language lessons.

Key words: English, teaching process, games, educational games, efficiency, innovative activity.

The effectiveness of the use of educational games in English lessons has long been known. The game helps to make the lesson more interesting and fun. The game is a traditional, recognized method of training and education. This is a unique means of non-violent learning for children. The game meets the natural needs and desires of the student, and therefore with its help he will learn with pleasure. I would like to note the great potential of the game as a means of teaching English.

Gaming activity in the English class not only organizes the process of communication in a foreign language, but also brings it as close as possible to natural communication. The game develops mental and volitional activity. Thanks to the games, all cognitive processes of students are activated: attention, memory, thinking, and creative abilities are developing. Learning games help relieve fatigue, overcome language and psychological barriers. Their use always gives good results, increases interest in the subject, and allows you to concentrate on the main thing - mastering the speech skills in the process of the natural situation of communication during the game[1]. Games are an active way to achieve many educational goals:

• to fix just passed material;

• the game is a very successful solution to repeat the past;

• the game is an excellent way to spur students, to make them work actively in the classroom, when they have to do less pleasant things;

• a game is a method of changing activities after a difficult oral exercise or other tedious activity;

• the game is an ideal opportunity to relax;

• games help to remove stiffness, especially if we exclude the element of competition from them or minimize it. A shy and weak student will feel more confident, and will participate in the game more actively if the goal of the game is just to have fun and not take points and win.

Although the element of competition often adds excitement and increases activity, it is he who creates a great psychological pressure on the students, they

are afraid not to cope with the task, which removes from the game shy and lagging behind;

• fast, spontaneous play enhances attention, revives, improves perception;

• the game allows the teacher to correct students' mistakes quickly along the way, not allowing them to take root deeply in the memory;

• games help to memorize deeply and permanently. Students usually remember what they enjoyed doing;

• games make the learning process, sometimes difficult and tedious, fun, and this increases the motivation to learn;

• the students are very active during the game, because no one wants to have a good time quickly over it, therefore the games make them fight[2].

It is proved that the game is a traditional, recognized method of training and education. This is a unique means of non-violent teaching of children, as a friendly atmosphere and a situation of success is created. Thanks to games, all cognitive processes of students are activated: attention, memory, thinking, and creative abilities are developed. The use of gaming technology always gives good results, increases and maintains interest in the subject. Depending on the goals and objectives of the lesson, various games are used, in the process of consolidating educational material, at the stage of activation in the students' speech. Playing in a foreign language lesson is not just collective entertainment, but the basis for solving certain learning tasks at this stage - from the smallest speech skills to the ability to conduct independent conversation.

A game introduced into the learning process in English classes, as one of the teaching methods, should be interesting, simple and lively, facilitate the accumulation of new language material and consolidate previously acquired knowledge. It should be borne in mind that the game process makes the learning process much easier; Moreover, a skillfully developed game is inseparable from teaching. There are always times during class work when the attention of students is dissipated. Then any spontaneous game increases the attention of children, revives and improves the perception of educational material. The game allows the teacher to correct pupils' mistakes quickly along the way, preventing them from deeply fixing themselves in the memory. Students usually memorize better what they like to do. Therefore, games make it possible to memorize material deeply and permanently. Games enhance the motivation to learn. Pupils are very active during the game, because no one wants to make it possible for a pleasant pastime to end quickly. Consequently, the games make them fight. The use of games in English lessons helps the teacher to more deeply reveal the personal potential of each student, his positive personal qualities (diligence, activity, independence, initiative, ability to work in cooperation, etc.), to preserve and strengthen learning motivation[3].

Games can be used at the beginning or at the end of a lesson in order to divide the lesson into two parts, relieve stress, which is decided at the discretion of the teacher. It is important that the work brings positive emotions and benefits,

and, moreover, serves as an effective incentive in a situation when the interest and motivation of children to learn a foreign language begins to weaken.

Reasonable use of games in the classroom and combining them with other methodological techniques contribute to the qualitative assimilation of the material and make the process of cognition, which becomes a need for students.

The game form of work makes it possible to repeat and consolidate the learned lexical units and typical phrases, to diversify the forms of the lesson and to maintain the attention of students in the lesson. A game serves as a means of improving the effectiveness of a lesson only when it is pedagogically and methodically focused. It is necessary to gradually introduce all new types and types of games, modify and complicate their content and material. While playing in English classes, students practice in speech activity, which is thereby automated and constantly expanding.

Depending on the goals and objectives of the lesson, various games can be used, they can be offered in the process of consolidating educational material, at the stage of its activation in the speech of students. Games are used as separate elements of the lesson or the whole lesson can be held in the form of a game with elements of competition between groups.

Grammar Games. Objectives:

- to learn to use the studied grammatical phenomena;

- develop students' speech creative activity.

1. Plurals.The teacher throws the ball to the child, calling the noun (part of the body or something else) in the singular. The child calls this plural noun and throws the ball to the teacher.

The teacher names sentences that are not true, for example: "We wear school uniforms when we go to the theater." Pupils correct phrases that are "wrong fro m their point of view": "We're not the school uniforms when we go to the theater."

Game physical lessons in English lessons. Preserving and strengthening the health of children in the classroom is not possible without the use of modern health saving technologies. This contributes to a variety of physical exercises. This prevents the fatigability of children and is a necessary moment in the lessons of a foreign language. To reduce the fatigue of children can, if you optimize physical, mental and emotional activity. For this you can use all sorts of tools to restore health. For example:

Handsup! Handsdown!

Hands on hips! Sit down!

Hands up! To the sides!

Bend left! Bend right!

One, two, three .. .Hop!

One, two, three ..Stop!

Stand still!

In conclusion, I would like to note that educational games are based on the principles of collective work, practical utility, competitiveness, maximum employment of each student and unlimited prospects for creative activity. During

the game, logical thinking, the ability to search for answers to questions posed, the ability to communicate with each other develop.

The game occupies a special place in the process of active learning, being both a method and a form of organization of training. The use of the game in English lessons is of great importance for the formation of new skills. The use of various game techniques and situations in the classroom contributes to the formation of a friendly team in the classroom, fosters responsibility and mutual assistance, since in the game they must be "one team", help and support each other.
