INTRODUCTION
American world famous writer. Nobel Prize laureate (1954). In 1917, he started working as a journalist-reporter in Kansas City. Participant of World War I (191418). Hemingway lived in Paris until 1928, and in Cuba in 1939-60. Hemingway's works include themes of love, war, travel, wilderness, and loss. His participation in the First World War later led to the creation of his immortal works depicting real war events vividly. In Hemingway's works, the initial journalistic observation is replaced by analytical, comparative considerations and observations. He condemns any kind of war, focusing on the suffering of mankind. Through the image of ordinary people, he expresses the disastrous consequences of standing alone in the struggle for human rights and freedom.
LITERARY REVIEW
The first book of stories is "In our time" (1924). The novels "The Sun Rises'' (1926, published in English as "Fiesta"), "A Farewell to Arms!'' (1929) deal with the unimaginable absurdities of war, human rights, encroachment on free will, and at the same time, all evils of human courage, dignity and love, superiority over forces is clearly expressed. Depression can be observed in Hemingway's work in the first half of the 1930s. During this period, the writer tries to reconsider his way of life, to de-

termine certain directions of his creativity. As a result, the collection of stories "Death in the Afternoon" (1932), "Green Hills of Africa" (1935), "No Flag to the Winner" (1933) will see the world. Hemingway's creative growth is evident in the stories "The Horn of the Ox", "The Happiness of Francis Macomber", "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" (1936), and the novel "The Desolation and the Absence" (1937). In 1931-39, Hemingway participated in the national liberation struggle of the Spanish people as a military correspondent. During these years, several of his essays and reports, the novel "Mourning Call" (1940) were published. The heroes of these works fight against fascism for the sake of people's freedom, they deeply feel that they are responsible for the fate of humanity, they suffer together with people, and they look for ways to escape from danger. After the Second World War, a new era began in Hemingway's work. However, the novels "Dangerous Summer" and "Islands in the Ocean" created during this period are artistically more empty works than their predecessors. But after a certain period of time, Hemingway created works capable of revealing the current situation in society by researching the human psyche. Hemingway's highly artistic novel "On the banks of the river, in the shade of the trees" (1950), and the short story "The Old Man and the Sea" (1952) brought great fame to Hemingway. In the 20th century, Hemingway created a characteristic style based on strict objectivity, which later writers from the American continent would often refer to this style.
DISCUSSION AND RESULTS
Ernest Hemingway wrote the famous "The Old Man and the Sea" in 1952 in the Bahamas at the age of 51. Even when the disease threatened the writer's life, he created unique images through this work. The work was completed in two months. Even if the characters are depicted through simple images, there are traces of the reality of life. So, the work is Hemingway's famous work written at the end of his life. It tells the story of the life of old Santiago, a Cuban fisherman. It should be said that the work "The Old Man and the Sea" is primarily about the feeling of trust and, of course, hope, which a person always relies on. In the main character of the work, we can see the character who lives based on his experience and tries not to lose his faith. Let's talk a little about the plot of the work. An old man named Santiago lives in a small fishing village in Cuba. And he was engaged in fishing. He had been at sea for 84 days, but he had no prey. Manolin is a boy who fishes with an old man. His parents considered the old man unlucky and ordered him to board another boat. But the boy loved Santiago very much. So, this time the old man trusts his luck and goes to the sea. First, our hero catches a small tuna fish. Then a very big fish is caught on the hook. A huge fish starts pulling the boat away. The old man is upset that Manolin is

not with him, the boy's help is needed at such times. Thus, the old man has a long "battle" with the fish. Hope and faith will not leave him even for a moment. Although Santiago lacks outward success, his faith and hope keep him going. In the work, the writer describes the connection between man and nature, and the constant struggle of humanity. The short story is one of his works in which these aspects are clearly visible. A student who is faced with such a struggle does not suffer from the failure of the work involuntarily, but the confidence of a person in the future inspires him.
CONCLUSION
Hemingway's works are related to man and nature, struggle and heroism, spiritual strength and loneliness, the glory of failure. The work "The Old Man and the Sea" is considered the peak of the author's works written on this topic. That is why each of us can find ourselves in his works. Even though the central theme of the work is failure, he continues to fight to the end despite his failure. This, in turn, gives glory to Jesus. Hemingway says "I wrote this work about an ordinary boy, an ordinary old man, an ordinary sea." We can also witness that the writer's illumination of the events, embodiment of the characters, the manifestation of the mental state of the characters through their words, and the revelation of the human qualities of mankind through simple images have a great philosophical content.
This story shows how much a person can have tenacious, generous, generous and extremely original views in his life, work, work, worlds of thought. While reading the work, one can understand that a human child may face many difficulties on the way to achieving his goals, but, like the book's hero, Santiago, he can overcome such difficulties with stubbornness and achieve his goal.
So, in this work, Ernest Hemingway was able to describe in a unique way the greatness of a person, his will and fortitude, his determination.
