FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Annotation: In this article highlights of the importance of phonetic aspect in teaching a foreign language.

Key words: foreign language, education, teaching, phonetic.

The importance of learning a foreign language is explained by the fact that it contributes to the development of personality, mental cognitive processes, expanding horizons, acquiring social and communicative experience. And the most favorable period for learning a foreign language. According to psychologists, this is due to the natural disposition and emotional readiness of children to learn a new language [1]. Today the purpose of training is formation of all components of communicative competence in which development the important role is played by the language skills promoting speech activity. One of the most difficult and important tasks for teachers is the formation of the correct English pronunciation, so learning a foreign language should begin with the study of the phonetic system of the language. Correct pronunciation of sounds contributes to both the correct transmission of thoughts and the correct understanding of speech. Undoubtedly, teaching phonetics, as one of the main sections of learning a foreign language, is more effective in practice. And since in primary school age there is a need for the game, the desire to move and getting external impressions, in this case, phonetic play is one of the effective ways to form, consolidate and improve phonetic skills. Methodists divide phonetic skills into two large groups: auditory and rhythmic intonation. For their formation and improvement, systematic work on the correct pronunciation is necessary, including knowledge of the correct intonation, pausing, accentuation of words, articulation of sounds, without which the formed pronunciation skills can be quickly lost in a non-linguistic environment at the subsequent stages of learning a foreign language. Moreover, if at the initial stage the wrong pronouncing habits are not eliminated, as a consequence they will be difficult to correct. Phonetic game is aimed at the formation of students ' correct pronunciation of English sounds, intonation of speech and accent, articulation of sounds, development of phonemic hearing, development of mental processes [2].

In addition, the phonetic game performs the following functions in the process of formation of phonetic skills: the training function is to form phonetic skills (auditory-pronunciation and rhythmic-intonation). The educational function is to educate such qualities as teamwork, respect for partners or opponents in the game, the provision of mutual assistance. The developing function promotes the development of such mental cognitive processes as thinking, memory, perception and attention, as well as the disclosure of such personal qualities as mobility,

perseverance, stress resistance, etc. Develops strong-willed qualities and the experience of various emotions. Entertainment function is to create a favorable atmosphere in the classroom, which makes the process of learning a foreign language more interesting, fun and relaxed. The communicative function is to create a situation of foreign language communication, contributing to the emergence of new emotional and communicative relations. The psychological function is to remove psychological difficulties. Motor-speech function is the simultaneous work of motor and speech activity. For example, when a student reads a poem and at the same time performs movements. It is worth noting that at the initial stage of learning a foreign language, phonetic games are used as illustrations and exercises to practice the most difficult sounds for pronunciation, intonation or as a phonetic charge.

Phonetic games used at the initial stage of training include: simulation games, puzzle games, competition games, games with objects, Lotto games with sounds, mindfulness games. Thus, the study revealed that phonetic games contribute to the formation and improvement of phonetic skills, remove psychological barriers and difficulties of mastering the phonetic side of speech, make the learning process interesting and memorable. It is worth remembering that with the systematic use of phonetic games in foreign language lessons, children successfully master phonetic skills. Nowadays, learning a foreign language has become a necessary part of the initial stage of education. The reason for such an attentive attitude to teaching a foreign language can be due to three groups of factors:

1) psychophysiological;

2) anthropological;

3) pedagogical. According to psychologists and physiologists, children have a natural predisposition to early learning a foreign language and readiness to master it. Therefore, it is possible to state the sensitivity of young children (from 4 to 8 years) to language acquisition. This age is remarkable in that children have a natural interest in everything and the need to learn something new. At this stage, they tend to more rapid and flexible assimilation of language material. These abilities are significantly reduced with age (especially the ability to visual and auditory perception, the ability to imitate sounds, and weakens short-term memory). The anthropological factor is associated with the socialization of the student, gaining experience with other people. Learning a foreign language relieves difficulties in communicating with people of other cultures, and also contributes to early familiarization with the cultural diversity of the world. Teachers claim that learning a foreign language helps younger students to navigate in today's rapidly changing world. Mastering a foreign language should begin with the study of the phonetic system of the language. The correct utterance of sounds causes the correct transmission of thought on the one hand, and the correct understanding of speech on the other. Teaching the phonetic side of foreign language speech in primary school pursues, first of all, a practical goal. To teach children good pronunciation in English, it is important to strive to ensure that pronunciation is always the focus of the teacher: it is necessary to provide students with a sufficient number of training exercises in the perception and pronunciation of sounds.

Therefore, the work on pronunciation begins with the first lessons of students and continues throughout the education course of teaching a foreign language. To develop the skills of speaking, reading, writing and listening, it is necessary to know how sounds are connected in words, and not only to be able to pronounce the studied sounds. This happens simultaneously in the everyday language environment, and in younger students this process is easy. Special attention should be paid to the formulation of phonetic skills in the classroom in a foreign language environment.

The importance of teaching pronunciation skills in education cannot be underestimated, as: phonetic skills perform a semantic function. The word loses or changes meaning from incorrect pronunciation of at least one sound in the word, it complicates communication, perception and understanding of speech. Phonetic skills more than other skills have deautomatization, (destruction due to lack of reinforcements). As a result, there are difficulties in pronunciation, and students have difficulties of a communicative nature. It follows that the correct pronunciation is based not only on the formed precise articulation of sounds and sound combinations, but also on the possession of intonation and the ability to put stress, according to the norms of the studied language. When studying in education, it is important to be guided by established standards or programs that regulate the rules of training students of different ages in various subjects.
