Some students think that grammar is relevant just while writing, not speaking. A piece of writing is read and checked, so knowledge of grammar and usage of grammatical rules can be seen in a written way. However, while speaking a grammatical attitude is visible to the listener and the listener tries to catch the words with the help of grammatical knowledge. If the speaker is speaking incorrectly, there can be a misunderstanding between them. Or the opinion that is being produced will be understood in a different way because of wrong usage of grammar.

Grammar is the sound, structure, and meaningful system of language. All languages have grammar, and every language has its own grammar. People who speak the same language are able to communicate because they intuitively know the grammatical system of that language that is, the rules of making meaning. Grammar is important because it is the language that makes it possible for us to talk about the language.

In schools why pupils are taught a grammar first of all? Because, at the beginning stage of a foreign language learning process, learners should learn how to use the language. To know how to use it, firstly grammar should be learnt. For example, in EFL classroom, a teacher tells some phrases in English that are unknown to the students who are beginner in this process. Teacher explains it in a native language and then students learn it by heart. Every lesson teacher teaches how to make a conversation with the phrases that are known for students. They learn it also by heart, but they are not able to create a new phrase. They have enough words in their vocabulary, and they don't know how to use them. In this situation pupils need knowledge of grammar to make new sentences by themselves. While learning grammar they are aware of prepositions, conjunctions, linking words and tenses, which are most necessary in language learning process. After gaining some experience of grammar, they can easily use their English knowledge in spoken or written form. That's why grammar has a great role in a language learning process.

In addition to these opinions about grammar instruction, there is as well a variety of perspectives among students. In Lee's study (2005), some students in Taiwan think that grammar often hinders their intentions to communicate, that is "grammatical accuracy The Role of Grammar should not be pursued at the expense of fluency". Moreover, students also mentioned that grammar knowledge is complex and abstract that should be reserved for mature adults to learn not for children.

Naturally while learning a language we come across some cases allied to IS (reading, writing, listening, speaking) which are extremely related to the grammar. As for example, student is reading a short story. To get the meaning of the text, learner reads it word for word, so he/she understands the development of events step by step. The text is divided into a lot of sentences. There may be complex sentence, compound

or simple sentences and all of them has own grammar rules. Learner needs knowledge of linking words that link simple sentences, conditionals, clause etc. that are included in grammar of a language. Furthermore, In order to write something, e.g. a letter, an essay or an article, we need to know grammar. To create an effective piece of writing we are required to know the usage of words connected with the topic. So, this is the importance of grammar in reading and writing processes.

Azar (2007) stated that as follows: Focus on fluency or accuracy? Do both, in proper balance give the students' needs and goals. Have students work with grammar structures inductively or deductively? Do both: you never know where any particular student's "Aha!" is going to come from. Use authentic or adapted language? Students need both. Work with sentence-level vs. connected-discourse material? Both can have good pedagogical purpose and effect. Engage in open-ended communicative interaction or controlled response exercise? Both are beneficial for students. Explicit instruction or communicative exposure? Both.

Language learning is a complicated process that demands to pay attention to every detail of a language. Therefore, for the purpose of achieving the goal of language mastery, learner should create successful methods of learning strategy. As Azar mentioned above, learner needs both fluency and accuracy that should be kept in balance. Having the four language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking), student can be fluent in language comprehension, also learner can be accurate in addition to this capacity, if he/she tries to enhance his/her grammar skill.
