The study will delve into the historical, social, and political contexts that influence the portrayal of patriotism in proverbs, shedding light on the similarities and contrasts between English and Uzbek perspectives on this important concept. 1 INTRODUCTION
Patriotism is a deeply ingrained sentiment that often finds expression in the sayings and proverbs of a culture. English and Uzbek proverbs, like those of many other languages, reflect the values, beliefs, and attitudes of the societies in which they originate. The concept of patriotism, or love and devotion to one's country, is a common theme in both English and Uzbek proverbs. These proverbs often serve as a reflection of the shared cultural identity and history of a people, emphasizing the importance of loyalty, sacrifice, and pride in one's homeland.
In this article, we will explore the representation of patriotism in English and Uzbek proverbs, examining how these traditional sayings convey the ideals and sentiments associated with love for one's country. By analyzing the language, imagery, and themes present in these proverbs, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of how patriotism is conceptualized and expressed in these two distinct linguistic and cultural contexts.

Patriotism is a concept that transcends borders and languages, deeply rooted in the shared history, culture, and identity of a people. English and Uzbek proverbs

In both languages, proverbs serve as a repository of collective wisdom, reflecting the beliefs, values, and aspirations of the communities from which they originate. 2 RESEARCH METHODOLOLOGY In English proverbs, patriotism is often portrayed as a virtue that entails loyalty, sacrifice, and pride in one's country. Proverbs such as "My country, right or wrong" emphasize the unwavering commitment to one's homeland, even in the face of adversity or criticism. Similarly, "Home is where the heart is" underscores the deep emotional connection that individuals feel towards their native land, highlighting the sense of belonging and attachment that underpins patriotism.
In Uzbek proverbs, patriotism is also celebrated as a noble ideal that inspires devotion and selflessness. Proverbs such as "The love of the motherland is the greatest treasure" underscore the intrinsic value of one's country and the importance of cherishing and protecting it. Likewise, "A patriot is ready to die for his country" conveys the willingness of individuals to make sacrifices for the greater good of their nation, exemplifying the spirit of patriotism that pervades Uzbek culture.
Despite the linguistic and cultural differences between English and Uzbek proverbs, both traditions share a common reverence for the concept of patriotism. Whether through expressions of loyalty, sacrifice, or pride, these proverbs convey a universal message about the enduring significance of love for one's country. They remind us of the deep-rooted connections that bind us to our homelands and the responsibilities we bear as

4 ANALYSIS AND RESULTS
