THE BASE FOR NATIONAL GEOGRAHPIC INFORMATION NETWORK-TOPOGRAPHIC INFIRMATION DATABASE MONGOLIA AT SCALE 1 : 500,000
Типовая основа для национальной географической информационной сети-топографическая информационная база Монголии в масштабе 1 : 500 000
Introduction
Map Viewer v2005.1.0 (Fig. 1) developed by Naranchuluun Narankhuu, student from Institute Mathematic & Computer Sciences, National University Mongolia in June 2005. It should be mentioned that the monitoring system for information database Map Viewer v2005.1.0 is linked to Topographic Information Database Mongolia (TIDM) at scale 1:500,000, next to Topographic Information Database (Fig. 2) of Ulaanbaatar capital (UBTID) at scale 1:10,000 for the first time. Map Viewer v2005.1.0 is very easy to use & possible to manage with different software products such as ESRI, LICA, and ERDAS.

Actually Map Viewer v2005.1.0 managing TIDM at scale 1:500000, UBTID at scale 1 : 10,000 jointly with Map Info Professional (48+21 wor. files) & Arc View (48 apr. files).

Mongolian base mathematic functions for topographic maps analogous at scale from 1 : 500,000 to scale 1:1000. Our country covered by 48 sheets of topographic maps at scale 1:500,000, Ulaanbaatar city covered by 21 sheets of topographic maps at scale 1:10,000. The mathematic systems of Mongolian topographic maps goes from small scale 1 : 500,000 to large scale 1 : 5,000, that conformal projection Gauss-Kruger zones of 6° & scales 1:2,000-1:1,000 conformal projection Gauss-Kruger zones of 3°, datum Pulkovo-1942. Therefore, the 48 lists of digital topographic maps Mongolia at scale 1:500,000 can be served as a basic Topographic Information Database for National Geographic Information Network (Fig. 3) Mongolia.
Accordingly 21 lists of digital topographic maps Ulaanbaatar city at scale 1 : 10’000 can be served as a basic Topographic Information Database for Urban Information Database Ulaanbaatar City.

TID Mongolia at scale 1:500,000 includes 4727 files, 2933 folders, 48 topographic information databank (48 workspace file Map Info), which bank includes 6-8 Sub bank, size on dick 1,388,614 K (Fig. 4). Digital maps for topographic elements geocoded at GK projection zones 16-19 & figured as the matrixes, attributes for each topographic element correctly compiled. Before translating Map Info tab. files into Arc View shp format the projection is
transformed to UTM projection 16-19 zones, datum WGS-84. Project files of Arc View including 48 databank, 4222 files, 984 folders, and size on dick 211,634 K.
UBTID at scale 1:10,000 includes 1071 files, 40 folders, 21 topographic information databank, size on dick 619,998 K. Digital maps for each topographic elements geocoded at GK projection zones 16-19 & figured as the matrixes, attributes for each topographic elements correctly compiled.
