His father, Alexander Nikitich, during war served as a voyenfeldsher, rescued and treated wounded, his grandfather all life was a priest, and his great-grandfather served as the regimental priest.

After leaving school - receipt in Vinnytsia medical institute. Choice not the casual: first, a medical family with traditions of high ideas of a profession of the doctor; secondly, aspiration to natural sciences; thirdly that is especially important, the medicine is a mercy, the help to specific people. The doctor and the priest - services close. I very seriously pursued science, understood that life couldn't arise by itself. And the formula of Engels -"life is a form of existence of proteinaceous bodies" - doesn't maintain any serious scientific criticism".

It would seem, a direct way to science, to postgraduate study, but, it is necessary to know Soviet period, the graduate Goryanov who hasn't shown any interest to trade-union and Komsomol activity, at institute don't leave. pedagogical career and leaves in the unknown direction ... The lord Konstantin remembers that time: "When I made the decision to arrive in a theological seminary, knew and understood that such decision is fraught with many negative consequences. I understood that from "the ship on a ball" it won't be possible to get. It was necessary "to bring down" the status if you want, to foul the trail ... And I left medical career". And in 1983 future bishop becomes the student of the Moscow theological seminary.

Appreciating the contribution of Archbishop Constantine, Patriarch of Moscow Alexy II said: "Over the years you jealously serve God and the people, thus making a significant contribution to the development of theological education and training of students of theological schools.
