A comparative investigation was carried out to determining the effects of both the fuel anamegator „Adizol T-6“ and the oil anamegator „Gold Ozirol MP-8“ on indices of three cars. It was found that the combined usage of both anamegators leads to improving the dynamical parameters on two of the cars. The better effect is on the car with higher compression ratio of the engine. The third car is equipped with an “i DSI” combustion and for this reason there is no significant effect.

The anamegator’s effect on gasoline engine cars

Abstract: A comparative investigation was carried out to determining the effects of both the fuel anamegator „Adizol T-6“ and the oil anamegator „Gold Ozirol MP-8“ on indices of three cars. It was found that the combined usage of both anamegators leads to improving the dynamical parameters on two of the cars. The better effect is on the car with higher compression ratio of the engine. The third car is equipped with an “i DSI” combustion and for this reason there is no significant effect.

Introduction

The fuels and oils features have essential influence on the fuel consumption, the wear out stability and the power indices of internal combustion engines. Some companies offer appropriate additives in order to improve the mentioned indices above. The Ukrainian company Adioz offers the products called “anamegators“ „Adizol T-6“ — for fuels and „Gold Ozirol MP-8“ — for engine oils [2]. They were tested on some vehicles, and have a positive effect on their technical indices [1, 37-40; 5 42-44].

On the other hand, some innovative technical solutions are used for improving the combustion process and reducing the toxicity of petrol engines. The most popular are the increasing the compression ratio, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Intelligent-Dual

Sequential Ignition (i DSI). All of these are directed to speed up the combustion process in order to transform more fuel energy into kinetic energy of the engines.

Aim of the study

The purpose of the survey is to determine the effect of both “Adizol T-6” and “Gold Ozirol MP-8” anamegators on engine power and torque for cars with and without i DSI.

Method of study

A comparative survey was carried out with three petrol cars — Honda Jazz, Citroen Xsara Picasso and Nissan, Primera P12 (Table 1). The cars have been approximately on equal mileage — 130000 km. The engine of Honda „Jazz“ is equipped with “i DSI” system [3], while the other cars are not.

All tests were performed in both directions on one and the same route with three replications for the vehicles. The engine power and torque were measured during car running on second gear and engine acceleration from 1500 to 5500 rpm. The used fuel was gasoline A95H, refuelled from one and the same petrol station. The obtained data were acquired by OBDII car diagnostic scan tool ELM327 and the software “Scanmaster-ELM” [4, 100-126]. It was taken into consideration the influence of the atmospheric pressure, humidity and air temperature during the measurements. The experiments were performed in two variants. The first was without any anamegators in the fuel and oil. The second variant was conducted after 500 km covering with the both anamega-

tors „Adizol T-6“ and „Gold Ozirol MP-8“. The acquired results for the engine power and torque were approximated and drawn as a function of engines speed for each car by „Statistica“ software.

Results

The processed data were presented on Figure 1 and Figure 2. It is concluded that at the Honda Jazz does not express significant difference between charts in both variants of the survey. It is noticed a very slight displacement of the torque chart towards low speed. This is explained by the function of „i DSI“, which optimizes the combustion process and reduces detonations in the combustion chamber. In other words, the effects of “i DSI” system and anamegators are overlapped.

Both anamegators cause a different effect on the other two cars. The engine power is improved the most significant at crankshaft rotation speed over 4500 rpm (Figure 1). It is because of the rising of the engine torque for the whole speed range (Figure 2). The torque arising is higher at the revolutions above 3500 rpm and as such way its characteristic

becomes flatten. Therefore, the usage of both anamegators leads to improvement of vehicle’s dynamics (Table 2).

The anamegators usage increases the maximum engine torque with 2.7% for Nissan Primera and 3.9% for Citroen Xsara Picasso. Obviously, the better effect is obtained for the car with higher compression ratio.

Conclusions

1. The usage of both anamegators „Adizol T-6“ and „Gold Ozerol MP-8“ increases the engine torque, which leads to improvement of the vehicle dynamic indices. This

effect is better for the engines with higher compression ratio.

2. The investigated anamegators have no significant effect on power indices of petrol engines with “i DSI” combustion.
