Annotation
INTRODUCTION: the article analyzes the tbl method as a practical and interactive approach to language acquisition, particularly for developing students' russian language competence. it highlights the method's focus on real-life communication, critical thinking, and collaborative learning as opposed to traditional grammar-focused methods.
AIM: the main objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the task-based learning (tbl) method in developing communicative and linguistic competence in students learning russian, while identifying its impact on critical thinking, learner autonomy, and practical language skills.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: the study involved an analysis of scientific literature and practical applications of the tbl method in teaching russian as a foreign language. it also explored how this method enhances student engagement and language acquisition through task-oriented activities.
DISCUSSION AND RESULTS: the findings showed that the tbl method significantly improves students' competence in russian by providing opportunities for practical application. tasks such as role-playing and problem-solving enhanced speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. the approach also encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and cultural understanding.
CONCLUSION: the study concludes that the tbl method is a transformative teaching approach, effectively equipping students with the linguistic and communicative skills needed for real-life communication in russian. it fosters active participation, critical thinking, and learner autonomy, making the learning process more engaging and practical.

Аннотация
ВВЕДЕНИЕ: в статье анализируется метод TBL как интерактивный и практико-ориентированный подход к изучению языка, особенно для повышения уровня владения русским языком. Рассматриваются его преимущества по сравнению с традиционными методами, основанными на изучении грамматики и заучивании.
ЦЕЛЬ: основная цель исследования — оценить эффективность метода TBL в развитии коммуникативной и лингвистической компетенции студентов, изучающих русский язык, а также выявить его влияние на формирование критического мышления, самостоятельности и практических навыков.
МАТЕРИАЛЫ И МЕТОДЫ: в ходе исследования был проведен анализ научной литературы и практического применения метода tbl в обучении русскому языку. рассматривались способы повышения вовлеченности студентов и улучшения языковых навыков с помощью ориентированных на задачу активностей.
ОБСУЖДЕНИЕ И РЕЗУЛЬТАТЫ: результаты показали, что метод TBL значительно улучшает языковую компетенцию студентов, предоставляя им возможности для практического применения языка. Такие задания, как ролевые игры и решение проблем, способствовали развитию навыков говорения, аудирования, чтения и письма. Метод также способствовал формированию критического мышления, навыков сотрудничества и культурного понимания.
ЗАКЛЮЧЕНИЕ: исследование подтверждает, что метод tbl является трансформационным подходом к преподаванию русского языка, позволяя студентам овладеть лингвистическими и коммуникативными навыками, необходимыми для реального общения. метод стимулирует активное участие, критическое мышление и самостоятельность, делая процесс обучения более увлекательным и практическим.

The Task-Based Learning (TBL) method plays a crucial role in enhancing students' competence in the Russian language by providing a practical, interactive, and student-centered approach to language acquisition. Unlike traditional methods, which often focus on grammar rules and rote memorization, TBL emphasizes the active use of language through meaningful tasks that simulate real-life communication. One of the primary advantages of the TBL method is its ability to develop communicative competence. By engaging students in tasks such as role-playing, problem-solving, and collaborative projects, TBL encourages learners to use Russian in authentic contexts, helping them gain confidence and fluency. This hands-on approach ensures that students not only understand the structural aspects of the language but also acquire the skills to use it effectively in diverse situations. TBL also promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for mastering complex language structures and cultural nuances. Tasks often require learners to analyze, negotiate, and adapt their use of the language, fostering a deeper understanding of Russian syntax, vocabulary, and cultural expressions.
Furthermore, TBL supports differentiated learning, making it suitable for students of varying proficiency levels. By tailoring tasks to the needs and abilities of individual learners, educators can create an inclusive environment that maximizes language acquisition for all students. Task-Based Learning (TBL) has gained significant attention in the field of Russian language teaching due to its potential to enhance communicative competence and learner engagement. The following literature provides insights into its application and importance: Theoretical Foundations of TBL in Russian: TBL is rooted in communicative language teaching principles, emphasizing the use of real-world tasks to promote active language use. For Russian, a morphologically rich language, TBL aligns well with contextualized grammar instruction and collaborative interaction, addressing the complexities of morphology while fostering practical language skills [1]. Cultural and Linguistic Integration: Task design in TBL often integrates cultural and linguistic elements, which are crucial for Russian language learners. Studies show that tasks involving cultural simulations and role-play help students better understand Russian societal norms and use the language authentically [3]. Technology and TBL: Technology-mediated tasks, such as video blogging and virtual simulations, have been effectively implemented in Russian classrooms. These tools reduce learners' anxiety and improve vocabulary acquisition while encouraging active participation in task-based scenarios [2].
TBL for Beginners and Advanced Learners: Research indicates that TBL can be adapted for all proficiency levels. For beginners, simplified tasks like introducing the Cyrillic alphabet enhance engagement and scaffold learning. Advanced learners benefit from tasks that incorporate complex themes like Russia's economy, promoting critical thinking alongside language development [3].
Global Applications of TBL in Russian: Studies on TBL in diverse settings, such as Brazil, demonstrate its adaptability. Here, task-based approaches have been integrated with the TORFL (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language), showing strong outcomes in communication skills, even at beginner levels [4].
Challenges and Recommendations: Despite its benefits, implementing TBL in Russian teaching faces challenges, including resistance to non-traditional methods and resource limitations. Addressing these through teacher training and task adaptation strategies is essential for wider adoption [5], [6].

By immersing students in tasks that require them to use Russian for specific purposes, TBL helps demystify these complexities. For example, tasks that require students to decipher authentic materials, such as menus, news articles, or advertisements, make the language accessible and relatable.
Moreover, the collaborative nature of TBL tasks fosters peer learning and interaction, essential components of language acquisition. Students learn from each other's strengths and mistakes, benefiting from real-time feedback and multiple perspectives. This interactive environment creates a supportive space for experimenting with language use, reducing anxiety often associated with learning Russian. Instructors play a pivotal role in the success of TBL. They function as facilitators, designing tasks that align with students' proficiency levels and learning objectives. In the context of Russian language teaching, tasks can range from simple dialogues to more complex problem-solving scenarios. Teachers also provide constructive feedback, ensuring that students internalize their learning effectively.
Thus, the TBL method is a transformative approach to teaching Russian, equipping students with the practical skills, cultural understanding, and confidence needed for effective communication. Its focus on real-world application and interactive learning makes it an indispensable tool for developing comprehensive Russian language competence. In conclusion, the TBL method is invaluable in developing students' competence in Russian by creating a practical, engaging, and collaborative learning environment. Its focus on meaningful communication not only enhances linguistic proficiency but also equips students with the skills needed for authentic language use. By fostering active participation and critical thinking, TBL prepares learners to navigate real-world situations confidently and effectively in Russian.
