Background: China is a developing country with a population of 1.3 billion. Central Asia is China's neighboring areas with rapidly growing population. Agriculture is the basic sector of the national economy for both side and the agricultural cooperation should be became the one of most important coorperation filed between China and Central Asia. Method and materials: This paper studied the present situation and existing problems of agricultural cooperation between China and Central Asia with quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Materials and data are used by formal statistics and literatures. Conclusions: Although the agricultural cooperation between China and Central Asia has made great progress in recent years, it is still lagging behind in cooperation with mineral resources, transportation and other fields. And there are a series of problems such as few direct investment, low level of agricultural trade, low participation of large enterprises and lack of technical cooperation. In order to deepen the agricultural cooperation between China and Central Asia, the science and technology should be as the field with guiding role to promote agricultural cooperation, and then an open, inclusive and efficient bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanism should be established, and it is also very important to select appropriate cooperation areas and technical cooperation models according to the national conditions of every country for agricultural cooperation.
