STAMP DESIGN

Annotation: This article discusses the process of designing stamps and the ability to manage the system in interactive mode, as well as the skills to work with the system of three-dimensional parametric modeling and drawing T-FLEX CAD.

Key words: stamp, stamping, design, drawing, detail.

The considered system of automated support of information solutions is intended to improve the design process of cold stamping dies (HLS) in the T-FLEX CAD environment. A distinctive feature of T-FLEX / Stamps from traditional systems for automated design of stamps is its focus on the domain specialist - both during operation and during development. T-FLEX / Stamp designer's activities are based on the principle of "WATCH AND CHOOSE". In this case, the designer is required to understand the essence of the processes of designing dies and the ability to manage the system in interactive mode, as well as the skills to work with the system of three-dimensional parametric modeling and drawing T-FLEX CAD. For the designer, the process of designing stamps in T-FLEX / Stamps comes down to filling out or editing the contents of the fields, choosing elements from the table, working with parametric drawings, as well as approving and saving the decisions made during the project.

Another feature of T-FLEX / Stamps is the orientation to the combined design of the main object and technological equipment (in this case, HLS) for its manufacture. The actual shell of the T-FLEX / Stamps system plays the role of a software basis for creating an automated design bureau using Workflow technology.

The object of design in T-FLEX / Stamps are separation, form-forming and combined stamps of HLSh of arbitrary design to obtain parts of a user-defined configuration from various materials up to 10 thickness and dimensions up to 1000 mm.

The initial data for the design of the stamp in T-FLEX / Stamps are:

• drawing of a stamped part created using T-FLEX CAD tools or imported electronically from other graphic systems;

• thickness and grade of material, which are selected by the user from the database of materials offered by the system (more than 200 items with the possibility of replenishment);

• information to fill in the main inscription of the drawing (stamp designation, part designation, surname of the designer who developed the drawing, normative and technical inspector, who checked, approved the development, etc.).

In addition to purely design tasks, T-FLEX / Stamps also solve technological issues that affect the design of stamps (checking the stamped part for manufacturability, obtaining the optimal single-row and double-row cutting, calculating the development of the bent part, calculating the number of transitions and sizes of semi-finished products when extracting axisymmetric parts, etc. .).

T-FLEX / Stamps is initially aimed at three options for designing stamps based on basic and custom stamp designs.

The first design option is maximally focused on the use of prototypes or "basic models of structures" based on the accumulated experience of similar developments and described in the technical literature. The basic design is characterized by a parameterized layout of a typical set of standard parts and stamp assemblies. The prototype stamps of one basic design, in addition to dimensions, differ in the geometry of the working area of the package details (matrix, puller, punch holder, etc.), the presence and types of auxiliary elements (punches, stops, clamps, clamps, etc.) and some other elements designs that are dictated by the geometric characteristics of the stamped part. The basic design of the stamp can be easily tied by the user to the design and manufacturing features of the tooling at a particular production - both by the configuration of the stamp parts and their composition - using standard and non-standard solutions (for example, the shape of the plates of the stamp block, the method of attaching punches, etc. ) The supply of software with basic designs is constantly updated.

According to the first option, the process of designing a stamp is described by a script, at the nodal points of which the user can view and edit at his own discretion the solutions offered by the system - both in symbolic and graphic form. At each of the 10 nodal points, the user can perform some actions. The figure also shows the types of basic actions and the corresponding icons. The same pictograms are used to describe actions at the nodal points of the design scenario.

The second design option allows the designer himself to form an arbitrary stamp design from computerized parts and assemblies. An arbitrary stamp design can have an individual set of standard, typical and / or original parts and assemblies (from the number accumulated to date in the system), a typical, standard or original layout of parts in a stamp, determined by the designer himself during design. These parts and assemblies are present in the prototype library as independent products (objects) that have everything necessary for their design and assembly: calculations, drawings and fragments for assembly. The product database includes more than 100 objects and is open for replenishment by specialists of the enterprise.

To design according to the formed arbitrary design of the stamp, the user is required in the early stages of design to create an individual design model of the designed stamp in the form of a tree of the design project. The project tree provides automatic selection and connection of objects corresponding to the designed stamp design, and allows the designer to independently establish a convenient design procedure for him. In addition, the user is required to coordinate the input and output parameters of the selected parts and assemblies. This work does not require programming skills and can be performed by the designer and / or technologist of the enterprise in 2-5 hours for each arbitrary design. After completion of the design, such an arbitrary design becomes the base one and can later be used according to the first design option.

The third design option allows, taking as a basis a similar design, in the "free drawing" mode in T-FLEX CAD to adapt both drawings of the selected stamp design as a whole, and drawings of original parts and assemblies and calculations for them. Moreover, the resulting structures can be further used in the design of HLS stamps according to the first and second options. Thus, this design option provides the user with the opportunity to independently expand both the library of objects and prototypes of parts and assemblies.

Practice shows that usually according to the first option, designing a stamp, depending on the complexity of the stamped part, takes 1-3 hours to complete a complete set of design documentation in electronic form. This design option usually covers 15-20% of the range of stamps produced in the enterprise. The second design option covers 65-70% of the range of designed dies and initially requires the developer a few large time costs (from 5 to 15 hours). This is ensured by the fact that T-FLEX / Stamps accumulate information from more than 200 GOST, OST, RTM and stamping guides. The third design option covers 10-15% of the range, but the implementation of the original design for this option can take from 3 to 10 days.

For each enterprise, the basic prototypes used for the first design option are constantly and purposefully saturated by performing design in the second and third options.

The result of the designer's work with the T-FLEX / Stamps system is a complete set of design documentation, including: a sketch of the stamped part, a cutting map, assembly drawings and specifications for them, drawings of parts (including standard ones) of the stamp. It should be noted that the contours of the working parts of the stamp with executive and mounting dimensions (matrix, punches, puller, punch holder, etc.) are automatically generated and appear in fragments in the required drawings at the provided anchor points. The final design of drawings for die tooling, which is sometimes required from the user, is reduced for the designer to edit the location in the drawing field of views, dimension lines, roughness signs, inscriptions, etc.

Using T-FLEX / Stamps allows you to:

• maximize the range of parts for HLS;

• to improve the quality of design work by reducing design errors;

• to reduce by an order of time the preparation of design and technological documentation;

• provide combined design of the main facility and technological equipment for its manufacture;

• to replenish the database of parts, assemblies and designs of HLS stamps for solving original problems.

T-FLEX / Stamps functions in the environment of Windows 95/98/2000 / NT. For its work, it is mandatory to use the T-FLEX CAD 2D parametric computer-aided design and drawing system.

If necessary, refinements to meet specific needs and expand the capabilities of the system, the kit may include tools for maintaining symbolic knowledge bases in a computer environment.
