OF COMPLEX PLASMAS

The complex plasma is selective influenced by a magnetic field through its components. The dynamics of dust structures in trap in stratum of a glow discharge under the action of the magnetic field is very rich.

An inversion of the rotation of dust structures was registered in [1-2]. For an explanation of the rotation mechanism some hypothesis were considered: the influence of ion drag force, the inversion of the radial ion flow and electric field, the action of end and edge effects in the experimental setup, the drag by rotating gas of discharge existed due to electron eddy current in an standing stratum [3].

In this study, firstly, we discuss experimental verification [4] and [5] of hypotheses responsible for competing mechanisms that lead to the inversion of rotation of dust structures. Secondly, we discuss the magnetic properties of complex plasmas (paramagnetism), related to the behavior of charged dust tops in the magnetic field, as well as some effects associated with their research.
