REVIEW OF ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT FOR MENTAL RETARDATION

Backgroud:thereare no reliable estimates of acupuncture treatment for mental retardation.
Obiective:combine results across studies to estimate the acupuncture treatment for mental retardation among children under the age of 18.

Mental retardation (MR) refers to a group of onset before the age of 18 or hindered mental retardation syndrome characterized by mental retardation and social adaptation difficulties. Clinical stage of development skill damage as the main feature, including cognitive, language, motor and social skills such as different levels of retardation.Current treatment methods at home and abroad are mainly: © medical therapy, @ education therapy, © exercise therapy, © music therapy, © game therapy, © comprehensive rehabilitation methods currently available for most mental retardation can not be the cause of treatment, only a portion of the genetic metabolic diseases such as phenylketonuria, galactosemia, congenital hypothyroidism can be treated for the cause psychosis, through alternative therapies, diet therapy, drug therapy or surgical treatment method is effective treatment.Currently for mental retardation in children and more integrated rehabilitation methods. In general, Western medicine treatment of children with MR only focus on education and training and behavior guidance, and can not completely change the symptom index MR children, do not fundamentally change the situation of MR children with brain pathology, so restored to its normal level. Over the past decade, many doctors of traditional Chinese medicine treatment for MR has been actively explore research, reported in the literature increasing.
2.Methods
2.1. Head acupuncture
Doctors Yuan divided children with mental retardation into two groups: the group of needle of scalp acupuncture complied with rehabilitation ; the other group of rehabilitation/Treatment period of 3 months,After three months,Children of scalp needle while rehabilitation group on mental age, social behavior had significant improvment compared with the group of children with rehabilitation after acupuncture,Studies have shown that after 3 months of treatment, the needle of scalp line combined with rehabilitation training to improve children's mental age, the social aspects of the more effective than acupuncture rehabilitation group.
Dr Lee applied methods of acupuncture treatment of children with mental retardation in children. Dr Lee acupunctured temporal, frontal, occipital three acupuncture needles, while in the following acupunctures: Bai-hui, hegu, wai guan, San yin jiao, Tai chong, The results showed that after six months of acupuncture and rehabilitation ,children has improved significantly in language, cognitive and motor function in three areas.About
2.2Body acupuncture

2.3. Electroacupuncture:
Duan Xiaodong et al through the experiment found that electro-acupuncture Baihui, vertebral acupuncture can improve the learning and memory of cerebral ischemia rats. Methods: Twenty - four Wistar adult rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, model group and electroacupuncture group. 2.4. Ear acupuncture needles:
(T3, T4) and thyrotropin (TSH) in 10 children with mental retardation and 10 normal children. The results showed that serum T3, T4 and TSH levels were improved in mentally retarded children, and the symptoms of mentally handicapped children were improved. Indicating that the ear hole buried in children with mental retardation of serum thyroxine and thyrotropin content increased.
Results: This article summarizes the data show that acupuncture treatment of mental retardation has a good clinical efficacy. Head acupuncture with body, electro-acupuncture, ear and other comprehensive therapy applications, the effect is more significant, worthy of promotion and application.

[ abstract ] : to observe the clinical effects of acute phase of fire needle treatment of herpes zoster. Methods: a multicenter, randomized, controlled method, 60 cases were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group using fire needle treatment, is take the hole and out of the holes, branch lander and si 3 big clip ridge; To choose acupuncture point with the treatment group, control group to the cupping treatment, observe two groups after treatment in patients with check blister, scabby, scab, herpes zoster comprehensive efficacy ratings, duration of pain, pain intensity ((VAS) score, after the incidence of neuralgia, etc. Results: the acute phase of fire needle therapy and cupping therapy for herpes zoster blister to stop in time difference is not obvious; the influence of acute period after treatment of herpes zoster in various symptoms were significantly decreased, two kinds of therapy can obviously improve the symptoms of herpes zoster overall, but fire needle therapy can improve the symptoms of herpes zoster overall better; conclusion: fire needle therapy can significantly improve the strip Ge rash acute symptoms, promote healing of skin lesions, relieve neuralgia, reduce the incidence of heritage neuralgia after 30 days, curative effect is better than that of cupping therapy.
