Far Eastern Agricultural Research Institute, Vostochnoe village, Khabarovsk region, Russia, borimel@bk.ru
Abstract. In 20202022 the evaluation of the productivity of a new breeding material of oats for
competitive variety testing in the fields of the Far East Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture (Russia,
Far East, Khabarovsk district) was carried out. The crop rotation soil is brown-podzolic. Plot area 12 m2,
the repetition of the experience is 3-fold. Panicle productivity is one of the main components of the yield
  . ., . ., 2023
structure of a variety. As a result of the study, the maximum value of the "panicle length" trait was found in
line 350-18 (29.6 cm), the minimum value was in line 210-20 (16.4 cm). The smallest variation of this trait
(V<10 %) was observed in 208-20, 212-20, 318-06, 352-18, 437-05 and 383-10, a significant variation of
the trait (V>20 %) was observed in 210-20, 420-18, 377-18 and 490-18. The number of grains in the panicle
varied from 56,0 to 107,0 pcs. The average number of grains in a panicle over the years of study is 76.6
pcs. By the number of grains in the panicle, they exceeded the standard variety by 24...41 pcs. breeding
genotypes 383-10, 305-08, 463-18, 437-05, 456-18. Conceded to the standard by 8...10 pcs. lines 352-18
and 419-18. According to this feature, the average variability (V=10...20 %) of indicators was established.
The weight of grain from a panicle in new oat genotypes varied from 1.9 to 3.5 g, the maximum value of
the trait (more than 2.7 g) was noted in lines 463-18, 300-20, 308-08, 456-18, while lines 212-20 and 300-20
showed the most stable formation of this trait (V<10 %). The lowest phenotypic stability (V>20 %), "grain
weight per panicle" was observed in lines 303-18, 377-18, 463-18, 447-18, 490-18. After calculating the
plant productivity index (PPI), new breeding lines of spring oats of competitive variety testing are ranked
into groups: low-yielding (PPI<5) 350-18, medium-productive (PPI = 5...10) - Marshal (standard), 210-20,
434- 07, 420-18, 318-06, 433-18, 303-18, 352-18, 377-18, 390-18, 398-18, 402-18, 419-18, 465-18, 447-18,
325-07, highly productive (IPR.10) 208-20, 230-20, 212-20, 305-08, 300-20, 456-18, 463-18, 437-05, 49018,
383-10.
